Michigan running back Blake Corum denies being in business with Connor Stalions

Submitted by SpeakOut on November 7th, 2023 at 8:55 PM

Corum had no knowledge at all of this company or that his name was involved with anything involving Stalions. His attorneys are on it.

"And I say, if he is seeking counseling or has sought it, this poor soul, may be the one with an excellent lawsuit for defamation. "

1) He'd have to prove actual, monetary damages

2) The truth is an absolute defense against defamation. As long as you aren't lying about a factual matter - it can't be defamation. Opinion? Never defamation no matter how nasty. True facts? Never defamation no matter how nasty.

You assume they can prove he was at CMU then because it seems the other activities were skirting unwritten rules and his career and obsession is now gone.

You might be right but I was spitballing how his life has been ruined versus requiring care. A little along the lines of Wendy5's comments as I wonder where does he go from here and do think his obsessive behaviors need review. Not condoning any possible wrongdoing.

Can't believe Blake is actually trending on TwitterX.

The OSU trolls are posting screenshots like its proof.  Oh and he posted a picture of his car on Instagram, so that must mean he is associated with Connor.

There's another WY LLC that was formed 6 days prior to the BC2 entity.  "Home Essentials Distribution LLC" is registered to the same Ann Arbor address but only CS is HED's only organizer and member.

Some other companies with which CS is likely associated - perhaps all real estate related? IDK

I've formed (as counsel) hundreds of companies in various states.  Wouldn't be very difficult at all to name BC as a partner/member on an e-filing.  CS appears to have experience forming LLCs.

It was obvious that Stalions was a deranged individual based on everything that had come out before this, but I hope they throw the book at him for perpetrating fraud on one of our players.

1) different name for the business; “BC2 Housing LLC” versus just “BC2 LLC”

2) Blake was making a joke that he should form a business and then used his initials and number

3) Blake DOES have is own LLC with his dad that goes by a different name and in a different state (this is easy to find if you look for it, but I won’t post it here)

4) you posted something from an OSU homer and many of them are incorrectly doing this

5) (because you’re probably one of those “why does he a need a lawyer if he’s not guilty” types) Blake is very wealthy and has lots of business interests, so having an LLC and needing a lawyer is very smart.

This one is the hardest for me to understand. Everything else Stalions did was the most super-fan thing to do. This would be the first example of him intentionally harming the team or members of the team. I don't know if he was doing it for clout or it was some misguided way to help Blake, but the motivation isn't as immediate obvious as his other schemes.

Blake owns an LLC based in Virginia with a similar name. Buckeyes are saying that LLC went inactive, then became active again when all the Stalions stuff started. So, they are clearly implying there was a connection. I have no idea how to check any of that, and no reason to not take Blake at his word. This is just harder for me to understand than the other stuff. I have personal experience being an overboard fan, but I don't have any personal experience or understanding with LLCs. So, I will be waiting for the next update to maybe get some clarity on the upside of this plot.

For people asking what's the big deal even if they were in business together, it seems like it would be an obvious violation for a player to be involved in a business partnership with a coach/staffer. I can't imagine that would ever be allowed, but maybe there are examples from elsewhere. It would be a huge recruiting tool if it was possible.

People typically don't get named involuntarily as members of LLCs, so we'll see.

First steps are "who paid the formation fees" and any taxes and whether there are any kind of written meetings of members that the members either signed or didn't.  And then whether it filed tax returns and how much income it claimed.

In terms of purpose, could be a way to pass money in either direction -- to Stallions or to Corum.  In theory, it could be a way to further compensate Stallions for his sign-stealing efforts.  But that's theory only at this point.

Even if he was in business with him, who cares? Like we’ve reached the point in this scandal where people are grasping at details that don’t really matter to the bigger picture

I pulled the filing documents from the WY secretary of state. The listed address I then cross-checked with the Washtenaw County property records. It's Stalion's house.

Jives with Corum's position, and I believe him, but this won't be enough to satisfy the haters.

I think that's worth sharing, but as someone who hadn't heard of this story before, I would love it if you put a couple sentences in the beginning summarizing the whole thing. On the other hand, people who have been following more closely might get annoyed by the repetition.

Yeah, no idea the NCAA rules around this, but Blake Corum is on the paperwork for this llc with Connor Stalions, and Blake Corum also Tweeted about his LLC named BC2LLC, the same LLC he is listed as having founded with Connor Stalions.  Don't lie aboiut this, I have no idea if it's even against the NCAA rule book.

The more trash I see that gets posted, the more confident I feel about our team. We must have sort of super team if they're going to these lengths to try and sabotage us.

When you fill out those forms for the Secretary of State you can put any name down you want. Looks to me like Conner put Blake down for some reason--who knows why.

But, this is more evidence that Michigan is a victim here of a lone wolf and possibly con artist.

I hate to add anything to this pathetic sideshow of a story, but this could be a serious issue for Stalions. It's a felony to file a false document in Wyoming, and here is an excerpt from the Articles of Organization that Stalions signed and filed. (On the previous page he named BC as a co-organizer.)
