Some video of the team arriving in Arizona, with a couple questions from the media // Also, who the announcing crew for the game will be
Excellent announcers for the game, and 2 sideline reporters:

Must not have flown Southwest

Was it the Delta logo that tipped you off?

JH's son James is a Delta flight attendant. Wonder if he's ever worked the Michigan team plane?

Did Corum travel?
December 26th, 2022 at 9:52 PM ^
I can’t imagine this is the kind of game where he’d have to stay home or watch from the stands. I know there are rules on how many players are allowed to “dress” for a game, but no way he won’t be there.
December 26th, 2022 at 10:04 PM ^
I don't think there is a number on how many are allowed to dress for an NCAA game. The B1G has a limit on the number of players who can travel to a conference game, which is 74 last I saw. That number does not apply to home games, non-conference games, or bowl games.

Shaping up for another primetime victory Harbaugh v McGrath showdown at midfield - does Holly even stand a chance??
December 26th, 2022 at 10:20 PM ^
*Molly.
Holly, is Holly Rowe. I'm sure she's in Atlanta with Herbstreit and Fowler.

I love the JH mid-field bait & switch:
"Hey, what a day! Luke Schoonmaker here had a hell of a game and I know you want to ask him all about it. Gotta run. "

I thought Harbaugh was flying to Denver. What gives?

Nah, that’s that Harbuagh guy

With a layover in oakland if i'm not mistaken

Anyone know if the team would stay out on the west coast after a win?
December 26th, 2022 at 10:25 PM ^
I would sure hope so. Less travel fatigue, more time to focus in on the task at hand, etc.
plus if they arrived Dec 26 for a Dec 31 game, they’d probably arrive Jan 4 for a Jan 9 game. So would they really fly home Jan 1 just to turn around and fly back Jan 4? I would hope not
December 27th, 2022 at 12:09 AM ^
They will fly home, will head out the night of the game.
December 27th, 2022 at 7:41 AM ^
Play the game before jet lag catches up - good idea!

All the people on the tarmac were asked to hang around and help sort Southwest luggage and get that airline back in the air.

Delta needs better colors

The red ribbon on the plane was for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). You can see BCRF and a smaller red ribbon just behind the nose of the plane as it is taxi-ing to a stop.

breast cancer needs a better color scheme

Time to put the Susan B. Komen foundation in the rear view mirror while we're at it
December 27th, 2022 at 9:18 AM ^
Although this particular plane is sponsored by BCRF, who I believe devotes 90% of its donations and funding to research. They're (allegedly) one of the good ones.

Question during the presser should have included asking The Don to raise his right hand.

He hadn't stopped Christmas from coming! It came! Somehow or other, it came just the same!
And the Grinch, with his grinch feet ice-cold in the snow, stood puzzling and puzzling. "How could it be so?
Christmas came anyway, better luck next year.

McDonough and Blackledge suck ass, and they both dislike Michigan. And Harbaugh dislikes Molly. Does anyone know why? I mean, he doesn't like any sideline interview, but he goes waaaayyyyyyy out of his way to avoid Molly McGrath specifically. What could she have possibly done to deserve such wrath? And don't say 'stupid questions' - she's a sideline reporter, they ALL ask stupid questions.
December 27th, 2022 at 8:06 AM ^
Harbaugh doesn't do any postgame on-field interviews these days. Nothing to do with McGrath.
and I don't mind McDonough calling the game but Blackledge is old-man-yells-at-cloud when it comes to modern college football
December 27th, 2022 at 8:31 AM ^
He'll usually give Jenny Taft a question. She's learned how to say, "Coach...one question and then we'll get to these guys" or something asking those lines.
Doesn't mean he still can't just say, "I'm proud of the guys, interview these guys." But she can at least get him for a second and he'll typically give her one.
I also think he respects Taft because he sees her so much. If it was Angelique, I'd bet he'd stop to answer a couple of her questions as well.
I just feel like it's a bad look to constantly be running away. If you don't want to do it...just say it, provide a solution, and move on.
The media knew Coach K didn't do interviews (unless it was the NCAA Tournament where he was obligated and would get fined). So during the regular season they left him alone and everyone knew it was always the Associate HC when you got Duke. He said it was professional development for his guys that are going to be future head coaches. Harbaugh could said it's for his guys who are going to be pros.
Who cares on the reasoning, but the awkward ducking them or quick, speaking over them with "talk to these guys!" doesn't have to be a "thing."
I scratch my head at how the media relations department hasn't figured this out yet.
On a similar note, I don't recall anyone in the media asking him about it in the press conferences.
December 27th, 2022 at 9:53 AM ^
This is a free country. He can do what he wants. Right? Bad look? Ask better questions. Things like "How do you feel about your team?", "How do you fix this in the second half" etc. Is too old. Ask him about his players first. Anyway, Harbaugh is who he is and the reporters should know by now.
December 27th, 2022 at 10:34 AM ^
He do you know they're not asking good questions if he doesn't even let them get one in.
December 27th, 2022 at 12:57 PM ^
lol.
...yeah I didn't get that one. "Free country" (when referring to a postgame interview) and "ask better questions." Two "sunglasses guys" meme worthy responses.
December 27th, 2022 at 11:49 AM ^
Personally I like the “talk to the guys” approach he usually has a player who stood out or made a big play during the game. Not everyone can take up as much screen time as that spartan dawg Tucker.
December 27th, 2022 at 8:39 AM ^
Why do you think Todd Blackledge dislikes Michigan? His son, Quinn, is a U-M alum, '19 BA Psychology.
December 27th, 2022 at 9:47 AM ^
Maybe it's just the pairing he has, but he always strikes me as the guy complaining about everything Michigan does while telling us how good an opponent is playing. He seems to feed on McDonough's over the top histrionics when something bad happens to Michigan. McDonough's entire career, now, is centered on "trouble with the snap".
Also, just because he son is an alum doesn't mean he has an innate love for the place (or the football coaching staff).
December 27th, 2022 at 1:21 PM ^
If it bothers you that much, turn the volume off and just watch the game without the play-by-play or stream the Doug Karsch and Jon Jansen play-by-play on radio.
December 27th, 2022 at 5:29 PM ^
I think you’re reaching! It may just be an internal bias most sport fans have…they always think the guy calling the game is “against us”. For example, Ppl on this board think Gus/Joel are bias toward OSU…but ask any other fan of another B1G team and they will tell you that Johnson/Klatt worship at Harbaugh’s feet! In reality 90% of all announcing teams are neutral and call the game as they see it.
December 28th, 2022 at 7:32 AM ^
Fair enough! I'll take this, and some other responses, and go forward with a better outlook towards Blackledge!
December 27th, 2022 at 9:04 AM ^
You have it backwards - McDonough is always eager to point out any possible negative for UM (and clearly loves to hear his own voice). Blackledge is rather level headed and fair... I would prefer he was partnered with someone else.
December 27th, 2022 at 9:39 AM ^
Yeah, McDonough revels in “Michigan’s in trouble here!!!” calls. We also seem to play super weird, tense games when he calls them. Punt game, obvs, but also Penn State last year and MSU and Illinois this year.
December 27th, 2022 at 5:33 PM ^
He called the Washington game last year and praised us all game. He actually mentioned “trouble with the snap” when the MSU punter fumbled a snap this year. We just have a bad memory of him because he was on the call. He’s actually one of the best out there.
