Who Wins the Heisman Now?
Not Stroud after today.
Probably not Henson Hooker because of getting stomped by USC (not that USC) and unfortunately ending his season that game.
Does Blake get it even though he didn’t play today? He is still the best player on the second best team in the country (and I think we hang with Georgia). Maybe if he plays next Saturday he can lock it up.

The ESPN crew on the USC game is really flogging Caleb Williams hard for it.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:01 PM ^
To be fair he looks like a Heisman-worthy QB tonight.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:18 PM ^
He is playing unbelievable football now. He has to be the favorite.
November 26th, 2022 at 11:29 PM ^
It's actually pretty crazy how the media Heisman narrative has flipped like a switch to backing Williams. ESPN just posted on Instagram about how impressive it is that Williams got 267 total yards against ND tonight lol
November 26th, 2022 at 9:54 PM ^
Moody?
Send that stache to NY
November 26th, 2022 at 9:55 PM ^
If only he would made the 57 yard kick today…

When are the voters allowed to begin turning in their votes, when is the last moment they can turn in their votes?
If Corum plays vs Purdue and has a big game, it's gonna be a tight race between Corum and Williams.

I doubt Corum plays next week given how little he could move this week. Honestly, UM probably doesn't need him to beat Purdue and they'd be better served getting him healthy for the playoffs.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:06 PM ^
I can't imagine they play him against Purdue. I doubt he is needed for it, might as well give him as much rest as possible for the playoffs.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:21 PM ^
Caleb Williams is winning the Heisman, especially if his team wins the PAC12 CG. And it doesn't matter if Blake runs for 200 and 3 TDs next week. Blake's team wins without him. Caleb's doesn't.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:21 PM ^
I'd be shocked if Corum wasn't done for the year. He ran the ball once, physically couldn't make the necessary cut, and the staff yanked him
November 26th, 2022 at 10:38 PM ^
Let’s hope not. He’ll have four or so weeks to get healthy. We’ll see.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:44 PM ^
By “done for the year” do you mean 2022 or out including the playoffs?
He won’t play in the BTC game but there’s no reason he shouldn’t play in the playoffs unless he injured something worse today.
Either way, Caleb Williams takes the Heisman.
November 26th, 2022 at 11:31 PM ^
I personally think him being back for the playoffs is wishful thinking. His one run today and the sideline reaction did not inspire confidence
November 27th, 2022 at 1:49 AM ^
Primary care doc here. If it is really a bone bruise as informally reported, a 15-25 day healing time is reasonable. Reggie Bush corroborated this when he recounted being hit in the knee with a helmet and being out the next two weeks when he was with the Lions. I don’t know if his injury location or severity was the same as BC’s.
November 26th, 2022 at 9:57 PM ^
Who cares?
November 26th, 2022 at 9:57 PM ^
Probably Caleb Williams for usc. Winning against ND - solid, but not that impressive of stats tonight, but has outstanding season stats. If they win PAC championship next weekend, he will take his team to the playoffs; Unlike Stroud 😂
November 26th, 2022 at 10:46 PM ^
With ~4 minutes to go he's 18/22 for 232 and a TD, plus 9 carries for 35 yards and 3 TDs. And he's got several highlight-worth runs that made the ND defense just look silly. Reminds me a bit of Vince Young making...multiple teams...look like children.
November 26th, 2022 at 11:18 PM ^
Yeah it was clearly a Heisman level performance. I’d be voting for him if that was something I did.
November 26th, 2022 at 9:57 PM ^
Blake has had a hell of a year but Caleb Williams should win. Has the 'it' factor.
Michigan took it away from Stroud today and I love it.
November 26th, 2022 at 9:57 PM ^
Caleb Williams seems to be having a pretty good game right now. With Stroud's 4th quarter implosion (*giggles*), Williams would probably position himself as the frontrunner if he keeps it up and pulls out the win.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:01 PM ^
Considering Michigan’s longstanding issues dealing with mobile QBs, I don’t want any part of USC.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:16 PM ^
I like our offense vs. the USC defense though.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:22 PM ^
I no longer worry about these things. They will find a way to slow him down. While he makes incredible plays, he takes too many chances when he is scrambling. They will scheme around it. And UM can run the ball and eat the clock.
November 26th, 2022 at 9:58 PM ^
Caleb Williams has it locked down. He’s got as much elusiveness as any college QB I’ve ever seen aside from Michael Vick.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:06 PM ^
You didn't see Lamar Jackson?
Williams is elusive in the way that Mahomes (and when it comes to elusiveness in the pocket...Tom Brady) is elusive.
But if you're going evoke the name of Vick. You have to go with Jackson.
Denard was faster than everyone, but Vick and Jackson made highlight plays avoiding sacks, which is what I assume you mean by elusive.
Jordan Travis at FSU made a play last night worthy of discussion.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:11 PM ^
He's elusive like Kyler Murray was elusive but Vick was another level. Lamar Jackson jumps to mind moreso than Williams in terms of crazy elusiveness.
He's a really good player but it feels like every Riley QB looks and plays like him. Some of that is great talent identification but some of it feels like the system.
November 26th, 2022 at 9:58 PM ^
It's going to be Caleb Williams unless Notre Dame miraculously comes back. It's over. Major kudos to Blake for coming close.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:17 PM ^
You may be right. If Blake had been healthy enough to have thrown a TD pass on the fullback pass today that they were saving all year, might have been enough. Blake has been truly outstanding all year and very worthy candidate imho. Best player on a team that is undefeated and still competing for a National Championship. Not even sure Blake will be ready next week either. Hope like we all do Blake gets healthy soon.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:24 PM ^
The sore knee did him in. Can't miss the last 6 of 8 quarters of the two biggest games of the season. He was in command with a good game today, but if you can't go you don't win awards.
November 26th, 2022 at 11:52 PM ^
He should get an invite to NYC though.
November 26th, 2022 at 9:59 PM ^
Who the fuck is Henson Hooker?
November 26th, 2022 at 10:02 PM ^
You do know that "Hendon" Hooker played for Tennessee, the top-10 team USC (not that USC) beat the week before beating Clemson?
If you're going to make fun of someone's football knowledge it's best not to make a mistake just as glaring in your insult.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:02 PM ^
Steve Jobs doesn’t know the proper name Hendon, apparently. Too soon?
November 26th, 2022 at 10:03 PM ^
Twin brother?
November 26th, 2022 at 10:19 PM ^
We don’t talk about her. Campus legend during Drew’s time at M in early aughts
November 26th, 2022 at 9:59 PM ^
It's going to go to Williams from USC because of the numbers but it absolutely shouldn't. Riley's offense makes these guys put up video game numbers but they get away with so many bad habits (watch Williams just run around for 4-5 seconds on any drop back where he gets pressure) that they inevitably struggle when the talent level of the opposition catches up.
What may actually hurt Corum is that UM's offense was able to move the ball as well as they did on the ground in that second half without him. It's dumb logic but I could see voters say "hey, Edwards put up 200+ yards with a broken hand, must be easy" and undermine Corum.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:50 PM ^
I say we give the Heisman to the O- line. Maybe Oluwatimi if we have to pick one.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:02 PM ^
Caleb Williams should get it going away.
At this point just interested in whether Corum will get an invite. I hope he does but I don't think he's a lock by any stretch.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:02 PM ^
In a year with no clear-cut guy for the most of the year, I think Caleb Williams ends up winning it in a surprising landslide
November 26th, 2022 at 10:02 PM ^
Williams at USC.
Someone mentioned Corum next week but he almost certainly won't play. If he couldn't even cut today he won't be ready a week later. He'd be higher on the list if he didn't get hurt and played more garbage time vs those bad opponents where he barely played in the 4th Quarter.
He might get invited which is cool. Winner will be Williams if USC wins out.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:04 PM ^
Caleb Williams.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:06 PM ^
Corum is incredible and deserves it. The leadership on this team is incredible though, and watching Donovan go off in the second half today and JJ play like a legend actually takes a bit away from Corum in a strange way.
Our O-line was awesome in pass protect all day and started to grind out in the ground game in the 2nd half. Not that Bama players are ever punished in the Heisman voting for playing on absurdly good teams, but many will start to argue that Corum is good but blowing out OSU without him suggests it is UM's line that really lifts everyone.
Hoping he's back next week and runs for 250 and can snag the Heisman
November 26th, 2022 at 10:27 PM ^
He'll get an invite to New York, but he won't win it. And that's okay. I'd rather have him healthy for the playoffs than to risk further injury against a Purdue team we should beat.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:06 PM ^
Corum does not because he did not play. Stroud does not because he did play.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:06 PM ^
🥂 well-played
November 26th, 2022 at 10:06 PM ^
Loving this lsu loss to keep the purple faaaaamily man assuredly out of the playoffs.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:07 PM ^
Georgia would've taken care of that next week.
But now with 4 losses, they are out of the NY6...which is nice.
Bama and Tennessee will both be ahead of LSU.
November 26th, 2022 at 10:13 PM ^
Them losing to one of the most disappointing teams in CFB this year (A&M) is amazing.
