Guess The Score - A Win/Loss Will Cause Me To...

Submitted by XM - Mt 1822 on December 29th, 2021 at 9:01 PM

Mates,
A little surprised nobody has posted this, but how about a combined thread about Friday's game.   Will keep it quite simple:

1.  Guess the Score

2.  A Win will cause me to/A loss will cause me to...

Hopefully little or no work to be done by you tomorrow, some time off with family.   34 1/2 hours to kick off.

21-17 Michigan

Win - head to Indy in about 10 days. Lucky enough to get tickets through Athletic Department.

Lose - watch the OSU game for about the 20th time and still revel in the greatness of this season.

Michigan 2 - 0 on a second quarter safety from Hutch. Both offenses look like they haven’t practiced in weeks.

Win: drink a beer and smoke a cigar

Lose: same, but start thinking about next fall

Michigan 27

Georgia 24

Win will cause me to yell out "B1G, B1G, B1G!!!"

Loss will cause me to reflect and appreciate the incredible ride this football program has taken us on this season.  And begin looking forward to great things next season as well.

Let’s do it, let’s win and shock the world.

1. Michigan wins by 1.5 scores aka 1 TD plus a FG. Maybe a missed 2PT conversion attempt and a field goal for a crooked 9 point win.

2. I’ll probably create a burner Twitter account and talk shit to Richard Johnson and other national media members who disrespected the shit out of our program and the rest of the B1G sans OSU. That scheme hack deserves the most shit talking of any national sportswriter. He’s a fucking hack who said we wouldn’t score a point. He can eat shit.

32-17 bad guys; close, low-scoring game gets away late. Certain? Absolutely not, but that's my guess.

Win will cause me to: Cheer a lot, send a brief non-taunting "good game" text to my good friend who's a UGA fan, look up the time for the national title game, and see if I can find the places where I posted on this board "Michigan is not winning the national championship this year" so I can link them just in case they turn out to be wrong.

Loss will cause me to: be really disappointed for 10 minutes (or angry if it's because we got jobbed by the refs), send a polite congratulatory text to my UGA friend, and then be really thankful that we had such a great season. Then I'll probably play a board game with my family.

Michigan 20

Georgia 3

A win will cause me to declare Alabama is next; imagine beating OSU, Alabama, and Georgia who are the clear cut top 3, outside of us, in my mind.  That would be as impressive of four game run(include iowa) as any i can think of.

A lose will cause me to go back and watch the OSU game with glee... seriously its all gravy at this point.

I have faith in this team and the fact that Georgia is over-rated!

Michigan - 28

Georgia - 10

A win will cause me to drink some good bourbon and celebrate the team and a great win.

A loss will cause me to drink some good bourbon to celebrate the team and their victory over Ohio State!

27-21 good guys. Corum scores with less than a minute remaining. Ojabo strip sack recovered by Hutchinson ends the game.

A win will cause me to reconsider this whole "Dry January" idea.

A loss will cause me to finally shave this beard.

A loss will be a big disappointment, but no matter what, our guys are gonna show up and play their asses off. It's been the best and most fun season of my life and I'll live off the reruns of this season until next year's talented team comes back with fire in their eyes. It will be hard to feel much but gratitude for what this team has pulled off with their hard work and dedication to their common goal.

A win will keep me up celebrating all night and into the next day, calling and sending GO BLUE emails out to other UM friends/fans who'll be doing the same. I will also come down with a bad case of nervous bladder and have to piss twenty times during the course of the game. My wife will tell me I have a medical problem and hound me to see a urologist in the coming days, but I'll explain to her that it will get even worse on January 8. I will frame my lucky maize M shirt after fast forwarding my way through a dozen replays of the game on January 1.

win causes me to ring in the new year and party like it’s 1999 / loss causes me to celebrate the new year and party like it’s 1999

Michigan shocks the sports world and dominates Georgia and wins convincingly

Georgia has more highly rated coming out of high school talent.  Michigan has more lower rated than Georgia coming out of high school talent that turns out to have greater upside and gets developed better with new coaching staff.

Win will cause me to enjoy my two SEC cousins rooting hard for us to beat ‘Bama (they truly hate ‘Bama!).

Loss will cause me to think about beating OSU in the Snakepit to win B1G East back to back in 2022!

Don’t know. I honestly can’t wrap my head around how this game will go and I guess that’s good. My gut said we’d beat OSU, but if I had to pick a final I’d have said 35-17 OSU.  This team has shocked the hell out of me so many times I can’t pick against them. But I do believe Georgia is built to stop what we do best and I’m not sure that Cade can be the guy that can win a game. This ones a real pain in the ass in my eyes. They’re like Iowa with a functional offense.

1. Michigan 31 /  Georgia 27

2. Win will cause me to scare the dog by running around yelling with a ridiculous grin on my face.

Loss will cause me to reflect on an awesome season. (a blowout loss may cause temporary depression)

A win will cause me to slowly shake my head and think “I can’t believe this team is actually in the finals.  We could win this thing!”  A loss will cause me to shrug and think, “damn, this was a great year, tonight’s outcome notwithstanding.”  After the physical beatdown of OSU, nothing could change that.

28-24, good guys

A win will cause me to continue to feel happy and joyful, keep rowing that boat because life is but a dream.

A loss will cause me to...I don't know, stop rowing the boat?

1) I have no flipping idea. I could see this game going a multitude of ways, but it will likely be close one way or the other. So I'm just going to go with what makes me happy. 27-24 Michigan. Michigan ties it up late. Georgia gets the ball back on the next drive, Hutchinson beats his man on third and long, forces a strip sack on Bennett, Ojabo recovers on Georgia's 35 yard line. Michigan runs three straight run plays to burn the clock down, trots Moody out, he nails a 47 yarder to send Michigan back to Indy. And I will have to do everything in my power to force myself back to the hotel in Ft. Lauderdale instead of finding the nearest bar to rage in for the night.

2) A loss will cause me to: As long as its not a gut-wrenching loss on the last play of the game a la 2015 MSU, or a 42-17 ass whipping, I'll shrug my shoulders and be happy for the great season Michigan had. No one, including myself, ever expected them to get this far. I'll also be happy for my wife, who is a huge Georgia fan, and will be pulling for them against Alabama. A win will cause me to: hoo boy, I don't know. I'm sure I'll go nuts, as we're going to the game, but it will come with the realization that my wife may not speak to me for a week. She's a Michigan fan in most cases, but obviously on Friday its not happening. She wants a Bama rematch so freaking badly. I'll just be keeping my mouth shut, telling her "great game," and then its a long car ride back to Atlanta the next morning.

1.Michigan-37 Georgia-24

2. A win will cause me to scream in excitement and wake up my daughter, potentially causing a nice talking to by the wife.

A loss will cause me to wonder if it was all a dream and begin to question if we will indeed be able to beat ohio next year.

Michigan 20 Georgia 17. A close game from start to finish. Another second half strong finish by the Maize and Blue will steal away the win from the Bull Dogs.

Michigan 23, Georgia 17

A win will cause me to spend entirely too much time looking at ticket websites and convincing myself I could make Indy work.

A loss will cause me to look back on the season and remember all the fond memories and probably watch the OSU and Iowa games 100 more times to get ready for spring ball.

UM 24  Georgia 21. A Moody field goal is the difference.

A win will cause me to be awake most of the night because of the adrenaline rush.

A loss will cause me to turn off the light and dream sweet dreams of a spectacular season.

December 30th, 2021 at 12:00 PM ^

1) No idea on the score, I flip-flop with every blink of my eyes.  I'll say 42-24 UM, since 42 has been a safe number the last few games

2) A win will cause me to spend the next 3 hours refreshing MGOBLOG just for the chance to post "Wooooo", which of course won't take, so I'll hit the Save button over and over, only to realize the next day that it posted 14 times, but I'll take my downvotes with a smile!

A loss will cause me to congratulate the winner, prepare for the long off-season, and avoid MGOBLOG until at least tuesday, when the mods have had a chance to purge it of the new account trolls.

Proud proud proud no matter if a win or if a loss …. great season akin to 1969 in bringing Michigan back to the top echelons of college football … wasn’t following yet in 1969 but I assume even the Rose Bowl loss didn’t put a damper on things …. wellllll Michigan fans you know lol … all I keep coming back to is whoever wins the line wins the game , simple I know…. GO BLUE into 2022 and beyond !!!!

1. Michigan beat OSU, who is roughly on-par or a little worse than Georgia on paper. Michigan wins 31-27. For the record, I took Michigan +7.5 when the lines came out.

2. Win will cause me to: Remember 1997 and the 2000 Orange Bowl fondly.

Loss will cause me to: shrug. I look at a loss as a measuring stick. This year, we ARE elite, but a loss will show us how much farther we have to go.

2. Win will cause me to continue pumping it up. Loss will cause me to delete that particular Endor tune from any and all playlists.

35-17 Good guys.

WWCMT: Say a lot of "I told you so's" to nobody in particular.

LWCMT: conclude I don't know football as well as I thought.

I'm throwing the overrated gauntlet down on Georgia, we're gonna kill em.

34-20 Meeechigan!

Might go down like the Iowa game.

Gattis will again try to get M up early with big plays.  If it works Georgia will be screwed. If it doesn’t work, he’ll have just enough to keep them off balance and grind out a couple drives.

Dawgs will move the ball early but mostly have to settle for FG’s as M blows up their 3rd and long plays.

Midway through the 3rd, the M run game begins to dominate as their D line gets gassed. Lacking any explosiveness, Georgia’s offense will implode as Hutch and Ojabo enjoy a sack fest.

———-

a win will cause me to: irrationally predict a victory over Bama, go get a celebratory double cheeseburger.

a loss, although unlikely in my estimation, will cause me to: be very happy with an excellent season!
