Urban Meyer Out
From Schefter "After less than one year in Jacksonville, Urban Meyer is out as the Jaguars’ head coach, sources tell ESPN."

Let the college rumors begin...
December 16th, 2021 at 12:46 AM ^
UT in a year is my guess.
December 16th, 2021 at 8:55 AM ^
Ohio State next season after Ryan Day takes the Bears job.
December 16th, 2021 at 11:30 AM ^
Nah, he's done there. They will move on to Fickell.
December 16th, 2021 at 1:11 AM ^
LSU would've sold their souls for sure.
He can't come back to any school with even a little bit of morals.
ND was always his dream job, but that wasn't happening. USC wasn't happening.
Florida just fired Dan Mullen, I don't think that was even happening had the timing been better.
Honestly, I think he's done or he's going to end up at a Liberty type doing career rehabilitation.
USF if Scott doesn't work out? A MAC school? Liberty if Freeze moves on?
Probably just back to FOX at some point. But I'm sure he'll take time off and collect those Jags checks.
He's even too hot to be an analyst right now.
December 16th, 2021 at 6:15 AM ^
FOX likely doesn't want him back either. I like Stoops in that role now.
December 16th, 2021 at 9:24 AM ^
Stoops is terrible on Fox Sports. He says nothing interesting and doesn't even seem to pretend to care about any team other than OU and Iowa.
December 16th, 2021 at 10:26 AM ^
I was wondering if I was the only one who felt that way...he's terrible. Does Fox think his OU/Iowa schtick is something worth seeing? I wonder if the rest of the team was hoping he'd take the OU job full-time, because he basically detracts from the quality of the rest of the broadcast. Meyer is a POS, but he was actually good in the role. Of course, his biases stood out, but the same can be said for any analyst (Woodson, Howard, Bush, etc). At least they all bring many other things to the table.
December 16th, 2021 at 11:23 AM ^
I agree. Despite his arrogance, I actually enjoyed Meyer's analysis on Fox Sports as well. Bob Stoops provided about as much insight as a GameDay guest picker.
December 16th, 2021 at 7:39 AM ^
LSU has souls? Who knew? They have some of the craziest, most fun fans in the world. Maybe a little too likely to throw a (empty) whiskey bottle at the opposition, but awesome in their own way. But their administration? Absent souls.
December 16th, 2021 at 10:11 AM ^
But I'm sure he'll take time off and collect those Jags checks.
Please tell me after everything he’s done he’s not going to collect a buyout? Honest people get laid off everyday…yet a slime ball with his track record is going to collect more money than most people could make in 10 lifetimes? Tell me that isn’t the case.
December 16th, 2021 at 10:16 AM ^
He's not getting any more Jags checks. I don't know this for a fact but in all likelihood he was fired with cause.
December 16th, 2021 at 1:55 AM ^
LSU fans have to be pissed.
December 16th, 2021 at 6:10 AM ^
Yeah, especially since he dances a lot better than Brian Kelly.
December 16th, 2021 at 6:21 AM ^
I can see it now. Urban grinding on recruits and checking their oil.
December 16th, 2021 at 6:24 AM ^
No different than what Mrs. PJ was allegedly doing....
December 16th, 2021 at 6:30 AM ^
Funny story, I grew up with her and I can totally see her doing it.
December 16th, 2021 at 7:11 AM ^
What did she do? *allegedly *
December 16th, 2021 at 7:15 AM ^
She pretty much gives recruits lap dances to get them to commit.
December 16th, 2021 at 7:54 AM ^
That's a solid strategy. Totally makes sense that PJ is a cuck too. Guy radiates small dick energy.
December 16th, 2021 at 11:59 AM ^
Haaah! Best post of the day. F*ck the haters Hatter.
December 16th, 2021 at 8:01 AM ^
Username checks out.
December 16th, 2021 at 7:03 AM ^
Who are those people? I honestly don’t know.
December 16th, 2021 at 7:14 AM ^
That’s PJ Fleck and his wife.
December 16th, 2021 at 6:52 AM ^
"I don't see nothing wrong....
...with a little bump and grind...."
December 16th, 2021 at 12:55 PM ^
Urban is a true football coach . . . Bump-n-Run is his technique.
December 16th, 2021 at 4:21 AM ^
I can't decide if I should be happy at the schadenfreude of him getting canned so quickly, or if I should be sad because he'll inevitably be coming back to college football. On second thought, I'm going to go ahead and enjoy the schadenfreude.
December 16th, 2021 at 4:58 AM ^
Schadenfreude is like sex: take it whenever you can get it.
And in a case like little Urbie, it's so well-deserved that you'd be a fool not to. Enjoy.
December 16th, 2021 at 6:51 AM ^
I thought you were going to sat schadenfreude is like sex, if you're desperate enough you can find it somewhere.
December 16th, 2021 at 9:07 AM ^
Sex is like pizza....
December 16th, 2021 at 9:13 AM ^
I don't know, Creedance. He's burned through enough garbage that it would be hard for a college to be able to say he deserves a second chance since it would actually be like a fifth chance. Of course a lot of my predictions of "THIS ought to be enough that people can't shrug it off," have been wildly inaccurate...
December 16th, 2021 at 10:27 AM ^
Enjoy away! I sure will.
Let's just hope that he gets paid enough for the rest of his contract that he stays away for a while.
December 16th, 2021 at 7:11 AM ^
Guy is toxic now. Probably has to sit for a year before beginning the media redemption tour
December 16th, 2021 at 10:18 AM ^
While not a fan, Paul Finebaum absolutely went off on First Take and called Urbz a dirt bag and hopes he never gets another college job, and any President that hires hIm should be embarrassed.
December 16th, 2021 at 12:39 AM ^
Well fuck, I’d prefer he stay in the NFL.
December 16th, 2021 at 1:16 AM ^
Yep, I don't want him anywhere near Columbus in an "Associate AD" role where he can influence the culture and support Day behind the scenes like he did before taking the Jaguars job. Honestly though, it's probably the only place that will have for the next year while he waits for the acute stink to wear off.
December 16th, 2021 at 6:11 AM ^
I bet they never filled that ethics and leadership training position, so that must be still open.
December 16th, 2021 at 2:30 AM ^
I think he's much more disliked than posters here realize. I did my doctorate at UF and my wife her bachelor's there--her family grow heated at the mention of his name. He's also a massive narcissist; I don't think he's getting invitations from the premier programs, and I don't think he's humble enough for lesser ones. Don't be surprised if it isn't a bit before he's commentating on sports, then rapidly aging out, occasionally captured wandering Florida beaches.
December 16th, 2021 at 7:22 AM ^
I remember when we used to say it would be impossible to get a young up and coming coach to leave Oklahoma. We saw teams offering insane money to take their head coach jobs. We’re past the point where anything is impossible in college football. I believe Meyer could have any open job he wants.
December 16th, 2021 at 9:16 AM ^
I'm cynical, but I don't think that once you've crossed the line into physical abuse and documented drunken *****-bangs that you've got long for your career.
I'd bet serious money that no ND, UM, UF could now convince regents/boards of governors to have him. But let's see.
December 16th, 2021 at 12:39 AM ^
As my grandfather used to say, it couldn't happen to a better bastard.
December 16th, 2021 at 12:41 AM ^
HOLY SHIT! This is hilarious! What a fucking dick!
December 16th, 2021 at 6:12 AM ^
Isn't that exactly what Cayman Nebraska said?
December 16th, 2021 at 6:22 AM ^
Not exactly. Urb’s a narcissist, so that’s exactly what he said as he Cayman Nebraska.
December 16th, 2021 at 8:41 AM ^
Come now, let's not make assumptions - per her social media we only know that he was flirting with her and as far as we know the only thing she got from him were his digits.
