Asst coaches 1-11
7 guys on staff have contracts to expire 1-11
brown - out fired
gattis - ?
jay - sounds keep
wariner - ?
moore - keep
Nua - ?
zordich - ?
mcdaniels - out non renewed.
so how many spots will we have? For sure right one offense and one defense pending Macdonald hire.

Warinner is keep as well. No question about that.
Also there’s a thread about this on the board already. It was discussed yesterday.
January 9th, 2021 at 7:55 PM ^
Agree 100%, Squirrels. But I'm not sure about this Wariner that the OP mentions. I haven't seen enough from him to know if he should be extended.
January 9th, 2021 at 9:54 PM ^
Gattis has another year on his contract, IIRC.
January 9th, 2021 at 7:53 PM ^
Why does everyone love to talk about the same 6 topics, literally last night and 5 times this last week ??♂️

Bc the message board is kind of a mess and it’s hard to have a long discussion once other topics pop up. That’s why things keep getting posted. Wish it was different but alas here we are. I miss haloscan.
January 10th, 2021 at 12:24 PM ^
All if you are making valid points I believe regarding redundancy and new threads.
Im not trying to be an ass but the only conclusion is the owners of this site PREFER repetitive threads. The site is setup for repetitive threads.
most message boards one of the top rules is “USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION”. Idea being you search for a topic and you can post and that will “bump” that thread to the top. If it’s and interesting topic people will engage. If not, it will die off again. Currently if you post in and old thread nobody will know so it’s literally useless to post in an old thread.
As someone who has ran fitness message boards this is the key to limiting basic and redundant threads. This is literally the #1 weapon to limit redundancy of topics.
it’s cool either way I’m not even being critical but the only conclusion is there is INTENT to have redundant threads.
January 9th, 2021 at 8:22 PM ^
Honestly it’s because threads don’t bump to the top when there is a post like every message board. That’s why there are so many repetitive threads.

January 9th, 2021 at 8:51 PM ^
Look at who's posting these and you'll understand. The OP who created this one has been here 9 years and has 600 points. In other words, not terribly active on the board. So he has no idea this topic has been discussed to DEATH over the past few weeks..
And that has been the consistent theme of these repetitive topics as well as the rash of craptastic thread titles like "Milton". All of them are created by posters who spend very little time here.
The answer is dramatically increasing the number of points required to start a thread but that's been a request since Christ was a kid and nothings changed.
January 9th, 2021 at 9:32 PM ^
Ding ding.
January 9th, 2021 at 9:43 PM ^
I have 700 "points" and have been here 11 years. I visit this site multiple times a day. Not everyone feels the need to reply to every thing posted here. Your number of points + years argument is dumb. Find a new one.
January 9th, 2021 at 10:15 PM ^
I used to think that way. No, its not the best solution but it would absolutely cut down on the number of terrible threads on the board. I don't see another way.
By the way I used to be like you. My point total was under 1000 for the first 6 or 7 years of my account. I think I gained about 2k over the course of 2020.
January 9th, 2021 at 10:48 PM ^
Sorry but it's not "dumb", it's 100% factually accurate. People who dont spend much time interacting with others on the board are FAR more likely to:
1: Create redundant threads like this one
2. Create threads with terrible thread titles (because they dont know what the expectation is for a good thread title)
3: Create a "feelingspost" which led to the entire postgame snowflake thread bundles
4. Post old news that is new to them but old to the board
5. Link a verboten site like Chatsports (happened today) or Steve Deace (happened yesterday)
If you're here as much as you claim then it'll quite easy to prove to you over the next week or so. Every time a thread is created that matches one one of the five no-starters I listed above we'll look to see who created it. And I am VERY confident that every one will be posted by either a newbie or someone who's been around for a while but simply hasnt spent much time interacting with the board.

January 10th, 2021 at 1:45 AM ^
I spend all of my points negging stupid comments.
January 10th, 2021 at 11:10 AM ^
I love it that these veterans, with all of their points and a MGoWisdom...are the ones repeatedly commenting on supposedly redundant topics, increasing their comment count and making others believe that there is a valid discussion going on.
You see the topic, it doesn't interest you or you've seen it already, don't click on it. It really seems like you folks are looking for a "solution" to a problem that wouldn't exist...if you'd just let the bad posts die on the vine.
January 10th, 2021 at 4:38 AM ^
Ok if you don’t feel the need to reply for 11 years then don’t create a repetitive thread now. 1000 points to create a thread seems reasonable to me.
January 10th, 2021 at 9:34 AM ^
This is truth! Many people started coming here many years ago like ourselves because of the great content. I visit the site several times a day as well and yet after 11 years I am only now pushing 2K points.Typically when things go well I just like to read and learn. But when things are bad, yes I like to voice my opinion as well.
This idea of 1000 points to start a thread is dumb. Trying to create a real world system where only those who have points can "afford" to start a thread while those who have few points cannot. Surely there would be a better way to police this like I don't know, moderators?
January 11th, 2021 at 12:25 AM ^
I've been here over 10 years with 500÷ points. I'm more of an assist/rebound guy, not a points guy.
January 9th, 2021 at 10:13 PM ^
I think the requirement should be anywhere from 2000-5000 points to make a board post and AT LEAST 5000 to make a diary.
Back when I only had 1000 points I used to think "take my points and double it, that sounds fair, my posts are crap anyway." lol

Who or what is “Christ”?
January 10th, 2021 at 12:41 PM ^
I'm an agnostic, not a bible thumper. It's remarkable that people like you go out of your way to slam the religious beliefs of others. The Christ comment was a reference to time, not spirituality. Even if you're an atheist, you'd have to be a moron not to know about the history of Christ (even as a fictional character).
January 9th, 2021 at 9:26 PM ^
Agree, but as always you have to consider that this is probably the worst message board interface on the internet, especially for mobile so maybe OP hasn’t seen one of the other 13 threads about this.
January 9th, 2021 at 7:54 PM ^
I’m curious as to what their contracts will be. Will we see low buyouts in their contracts as well? Seems like if you’re gonna reserve the right to fire Harbaugh at anytime, you’d have to make sure firing the assistants won’t break the bank.
January 9th, 2021 at 7:59 PM ^
I think it's reasonably clear who is likely to be retained and who will be let go. Zordich is the one who I'm less sure about.
January 9th, 2021 at 8:02 PM ^
How many threads do we need on the same topics?
January 9th, 2021 at 9:21 PM ^
Hate to potentially derail such an important thread, but has anyone ever seen R. J. MacReady's avatar in the same room and at the same time as mGrowOld's avatar?
January 9th, 2021 at 9:59 PM ^
Not following.
January 9th, 2021 at 11:04 PM ^
Me either.

The pictures...the sunglasses...the hair...doppelgangers!
Or perhaps I need to get my eyes checked.
Ignore and carry on.
January 9th, 2021 at 8:03 PM ^
I don’t think Gattis contract is up until next year.
January 9th, 2021 at 8:07 PM ^
Can we re-hire Brown and do the opposite of what he says?
January 9th, 2021 at 8:10 PM ^
Thread hijack. Who has read Fukuyama's The End of History and did you like it? I'm not saying whether you believe he's right or not. But it could be an interesting thought-provoking book in which you learn a lot without you agreeing with the main thesis. Considering making that my next book.
January 9th, 2021 at 9:02 PM ^
I think it's worth a read, and I disagree with almost everything in it. Especially interesting now that some water (or shall I say history) has passed under the bridge. Among the very interesting things about it are how much it loomed as a conservative treatise at the time and how much both of the major parties' philosophies came to intersect in the late neoliberal period; might better fit the thinking of someone like Bill Clinton at this stage than anyone you could point to in the Republican party.
January 9th, 2021 at 8:21 PM ^
I wish there were pinned threads at times. You could separate them into the most prevalent hot topics and then anything that relates to that either gets placed into that thread or deleted.
January 9th, 2021 at 8:27 PM ^
I think Nua needs to go. He has showed nothing in the 2 years he has been here so far.
January 9th, 2021 at 8:55 PM ^
I don’t care .... ask my opinion about M football in August
Right now I’m frustrated about M hockey.
Also frustrated because I can’t find the last 6 pieces of 8x4 foot 1/2 inch insulation I have been using to insulate the walls of my shop. I have used 30 of them ..... can’t find the last 6 pieces. All the sudden they’re the Holy Grail of construction. What the fuck?
Also, I need to buy a chainsaw. Looking at Husqvarna 18” bar. Mower is a Husqvarna so I could put a sweet rack on it to hold the chainsaw. Idk.
Also kinda jigged up cuz my kids are coming down next weekend and we’re going down to see my mother in law (boo, she insists on kissing me on the lips ... 25 years and she won’t give it up) and she’s giving me her barely used drill press. Nice ..... Phrasing?
Wait ... what were we talking about? Football? Ask me in August
January 9th, 2021 at 9:15 PM ^
A free drill press may be worth the kiss on the lips from the mother-in-law, but why your wife never put an end to this is beyond me.
January 9th, 2021 at 9:40 PM ^
It’s how she operates. Does it to her grandkids. EVERYONE gets kissed on the mouth by Gammy.
January 9th, 2021 at 9:26 PM ^
Nope, couldn't do it. Just told my girlfriend if her mother ever tried that I would put my palm on her face and straight up stiff-arm her, no questions. You, sir, are a beacon of patience.
January 9th, 2021 at 9:41 PM ^
She a wonderful woman who has lived through more shit that’s not her fault than most. It’s weird but after 25 years I’m used to it
January 9th, 2021 at 9:58 PM ^
The most effective way of getting her to stop kissing you on the lips is to slip her some tongue next time she does it.
January 9th, 2021 at 10:22 PM ^
...but what if that has been her dream all along?
January 9th, 2021 at 10:30 PM ^
See .... I get where Don is coming from but THIS RIGHT HERE is my nightmare. Like, yea ok, I slip her some tongue to mess with her then all the sudden she’s grabbing my ass cuz she’s been playing the long game?
nope. not me. just take the kiss on the lips and move on before I make shit way worse
January 9th, 2021 at 11:49 PM ^
Is she a GILF? My neighbor just became one and she is 48 and hot.
January 10th, 2021 at 4:07 PM ^
This really made me laugh because my former mother-in-law told my ex how nice my ass was in front of me....and then grabbed it later in the evening. In fairness her Mom was about the same number of years older than me than I was my ex so, yeah. Please note they are referenced as former and ex.
