Awesome. Does Danny Vanden Boom pass for more than 400 yards on us? Should be fun to watch that young man start his Heisman campaign.
November 9th, 2020 at 1:56 PM ^
Pretty sure Mertz is cleared to play.

STOP THE COUNT
November 9th, 2020 at 12:59 PM ^
Who knew our defense was the cure for COVID.
November 9th, 2020 at 1:21 PM ^
Pretty sure our defense is the cure for anything that ails an offense.
November 9th, 2020 at 1:01 PM ^
They could be down to walkons at half their starting positions and they probably felt confident enough to give it a go.
November 9th, 2020 at 1:17 PM ^
Not sure if Mertz can play, haven't read anything substantive about when the 21 day clock starts, but anyone else that tested positive after him would still be out for the game. I do wonder how many starters or "regulars" will have to be out... Not that it really matters though.

Straight from the horse's mouth:

Considering Chryst also has COVID-19 and I've seen conflicting dates on when everyone tested positive, I'm thinking this is more gamesmanship from someone who doesn't want to say they'll be down to their 3rd-string QB.
November 9th, 2020 at 1:06 PM ^
Lol of course they are.
November 9th, 2020 at 1:10 PM ^
Question for the board:
WOULD THIS BE THE BIGGEST WIN IN THE HARBAUGH ERA?
November 9th, 2020 at 1:12 PM ^
Lots and lots of assumptions baked into that question.
November 9th, 2020 at 1:30 PM ^
I don't really care if we win or lose, relative to my wanting Harbaugh fired. It's what the team looks like on the field that matters. Football has a lot of random events. You want to have the best team possible so those random events don't cause you to lose a game you should win. I'm not going to judge a coach on if more or less of those events are going in his favor.
If Milton hits Bell on the wide open deep route and Hawkins doesn't get a PBU on Hill's free INT, we maybe/probably beat Indiana...Does that change the fact that the team still looked like shit all game? No. If the refs review the incompletions on MSU's final TD drive, we could've won that game. We could be a top 10 3-0 team even with how shitty we've played... and I would still want Brown and Harbaugh gone for how this team has looked.

WHOOSH.
November 9th, 2020 at 1:12 PM ^
Maybe we can actually catch a break for once and play against their back ups. They can lose this game and still make the Conference Championship Game, but if they don’t play they won’t be eligible. Even if they only have 22 walk-ons available, it would be better for them to play and lose instead of not playing at all.
Most likely Mertz will somehow be cleared to play or Coan will return from his alleged season ending injury and play the game of his life because that’s how things go against UM.
November 9th, 2020 at 1:17 PM ^
Coan lined up in shotgun formation wearing a walking boot might be sufficient.
November 9th, 2020 at 1:20 PM ^
God dammit.
They’ve seen us play and thought this is a GREAT week to return to play.
They haven’t practiced in 2 weeks and we’re gonna put up scrimmage like resistance.
November 9th, 2020 at 1:33 PM ^
this is gonna be like RichRod 2010 where they have a 24-0 halftime lead and start the second half with 30 consecutive runs.
November 9th, 2020 at 1:55 PM ^
Except those 30 runs continued to produce. I'm worried, as most fans are, about pass coverage most. A 24-0 halftime lead followed by 30 consecutive runs against this team wouldn't cut it. We would definitely score at least 3 points in the second half!
November 9th, 2020 at 1:58 PM ^
Well considering they struggled to run the ball against Illinois I fucking highly doubt it. And our run defense hasn't been the issue
November 9th, 2020 at 2:05 PM ^
Lol ok, you showed me!
November 9th, 2020 at 1:34 PM ^
I wonder if all those stud recruits( Donovan Jackson etc) are still coming to watch the game? This will just seal the deal for the other teams recruiting them osu etc! Ugh!
November 9th, 2020 at 1:51 PM ^
Terrific. A late game the night before opening day of deer season. Thanks, Big Ten.
November 9th, 2020 at 2:11 PM ^
It'll be over by halftime so you can get to bed on time.
November 9th, 2020 at 1:55 PM ^
Prediction...
...pain!
November 9th, 2020 at 2:03 PM ^
After watching our last two games, Alvarez was like "no way we're missing this game....."
November 9th, 2020 at 2:08 PM ^
Let the hamblasting continue
Actually, I'm sure M's staff has been saving the playbook for Wisconsin...
November 9th, 2020 at 2:13 PM ^
Sadly, this a game they do not want to miss
November 9th, 2020 at 2:26 PM ^
What time is this game? 7:30 PM? That gives me plenty of time to check with my doctors to find out - worst case - if a glass of Everclear, or indeed straight up aviation fuel, would be permissible....
November 9th, 2020 at 2:38 PM ^
Semi-related note: LSU-Alabama may be cancelled.
They likely won't be able to make that game up since LSU already has a makeup game against Florida. So much for giving the B1G grief for starting after everyone else.
November 9th, 2020 at 3:24 PM ^
LSU has no incentive whatsoever to play that game, and If I’m LSU or Ed Orgeron I’m begging for that game to be cancelled. Alabama would probably beat them as bad as they have ever been beaten in the Nick Saban era.
65-14 is not an unrealistic result for that game.
November 9th, 2020 at 2:51 PM ^
You know what's amazing: some years back, Wisconsin beat Michigan. The reaction in Wisconsin was so ecstatic, calling it a "program" win. You could sense the jubilation and pride in a win over a program like UM.
And yet, now ...
November 9th, 2020 at 2:56 PM ^
Of course they are ready to play against Michigan. Why would they let a great opportunity to pound us into submission slip away?
November 9th, 2020 at 3:16 PM ^
I don’t blame them
November 9th, 2020 at 3:22 PM ^
So how many yards is their 4th string QB going to throw for this weekend? 400? Over/under on 3 TD passes?
Of course this is a game they don’t plan on missing. Barry Alvarez had to have watched the tape from the last two weeks and said to himself he doesn’t care if his entire starting OL comes down with COVID, they’re not missing a chance to beat up on a hapless Michigan team.
November 9th, 2020 at 3:27 PM ^
Does anyone know the status on some of our higher ranked recruits? Braiden McGregor, Andre Seldon?
November 9th, 2020 at 3:30 PM ^
Great. Just great.
November 9th, 2020 at 4:16 PM ^
yay....
not watching
November 9th, 2020 at 6:36 PM ^
Mertz will just chuck it deep on every play. We will have 250 yards in pass interference penalties.
November 9th, 2020 at 6:50 PM ^
November 9th, 2020 at 7:05 PM ^
Great. I was hoping to hear about Michigan getting skull fucked.
November 10th, 2020 at 4:11 PM ^
Son of a bitch. Ineffective D-line + bad secondary + bad coaching and game planning = another ugly loss.
I was hoping for a cancellation, just to avoid a beatdown. And here I just ordered some UM facemasks from the MDen. I'm going to be too ashamed to wear them in public.
