OT-Happy for Brandon Peters
Really happy for BP!!!
Just want to say I'm really happy for Brandon Peters, who was concussed by this same team when playing for UM, never complained and was always a good teammate while at UM, and (apparently lucky for us, but unfortunate for him) didn't get to play against us, his former team last week.
Jalen Hurts is an elite QB that won a national title at BAMA and now is leading a top team at Oklahoma. But for guys like Peters their college football careers can often go by without a second chance or maybe even that one remarkable moment. Today, Peters got his great college football moment. Really happy for a good kid and hope he continues to progress, and maybe even has an NFL team takes a shot on him late in the draft.
College football is awesome, especially when good things can happen to good kids that keep working.
Happy for the Great Bearded Wonder too....Congrats Lovie. Whisky was getting a bit too uppity and big-headed...happy to see them eat an abysmal (31 point favorites) upset.
***This was not created for the Shea - Peters debate or Harbaugh QB development debate although I'm sure that's where this heads, as it is ultimately a UM blog.

Hi Mrs. Peters
October 19th, 2019 at 4:01 PM ^
Yes, we are all happy for the young man. However, you throw 21 passes and complete only 9. That’s not winning the game for a team, that defense of the Illini showed up and balled out.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:04 PM ^
He was no John Elway out there. Just happy he got his college football moment. Most kids labeled "a bust" or that need to transfer to a lesser program, never get to feel that awesome upset or big game win. No, Illinois won't be playing for the B1G championship and probably doesn't make a bowl game this year, but at least BP got his college moment to celebrate with his teammates.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:10 PM ^
They can win their next 3 games. Rutgers, Maryland and Purdue. That would make them bowl eligible.
I am happy he gets this moment, but if this wasn’t about the Shea vs Brandon debate. Where are the other shout outs to all previous Michigan players?
October 19th, 2019 at 4:21 PM ^
This has nothing to do with the Patterson-Peters competition. There is no suggestion that Peters would be starting if he hadn't transferred.
I'm not sure what you've been reading, but for a while we heard about A J Dillon and Thomas Rawls every week. Magnus has a regular feature about former Wolverines. Pretty much everyone else who posts about them is inconsistent about choosing what and when to post. The upset of Wisconsin is the type of event that elicits posts.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:59 PM ^
I know it can be hard not to be cynical of random internet poster these days, but I don't follow every UM player that transfers very closely - but when it's a former highly rated UM QB that just played a game I was watching for 3 hours, and he was part of the biggest upset of the year so far and was able to enjoy it with his teammates, I can be genuinely happy for the kid - who never complained here and just went about his business until he transferred.
Add in the fact that this same team he just beat had concussed him while he was at UM, there is a bit of a revenge factor for him in beating them. Yes, I knew that this would bring up an inevitable QB debate/discussion given how thing played out at UM, but this debate was not the intention of the post.
You can still genuinely be happy for people who get to enjoy a nice moment after they underwent (hardship/needing to transfer/going to a lesser program) without having some ulterior motive.
October 19th, 2019 at 6:43 PM ^
Maybe he liked Peters more. Maybe the win today reminded him. Does he need to have one for everyone so you think it’s fair?
October 19th, 2019 at 4:08 PM ^
14/32 Shea Patterson and a L against the same team ... With better talent at his disposal
October 19th, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
I’m confused on why you are getting downvoted here..
October 19th, 2019 at 4:19 PM ^
They can’t handle the truth
October 19th, 2019 at 4:23 PM ^
Is the truth that Illinois is better than the Wolverines?
October 19th, 2019 at 4:32 PM ^
Exactly. This is a pretty bizarre assertion.
It appeered to me like Michigan played poorly on the road against Wisconsin last month and particularly offensive installation to that point was not good.
Whereas, on this date it seemed like Wisconsin overlooked Illinois and, despite a pedestrian day from Brandon Peters, the Illini defense carried them to a nice win.
Poster looking for transitive property in college football gonna be looking for a while...
October 19th, 2019 at 4:36 PM ^
Yeah, Michigan was one of the biggest games on their schedule while Illinois falls between MSU and OSU.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:59 PM ^
Peters played just ok — if that. Why can’t we just be happy for the kid without shitting on our qb? It obvious why the staff was looking for a better option. Here is the best part — if Shea was 9 for 21 tonight people would be killing him even if our defense was able to pull out the win.
October 19th, 2019 at 5:46 PM ^
Because he’s better than our QB most realize that but are afraid to say it..
October 19th, 2019 at 5:59 PM ^
Well, considering the transferred because it was clear even last year he was behind both Patterson and McCaffrey, that would refute your claim.
What will be funny is that if Patterson plays well tonight you'll probably hope nobody checks your posting history as you're throwing congrats around.
October 19th, 2019 at 6:53 PM ^
I hope the mods nuke him and eliminate his posting history.
October 19th, 2019 at 7:18 PM ^
Lol. You're getting downvoted because you're being an ass in a thread where we're just congratulating a former wolverine on what will likely be his biggest win of his life.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:33 PM ^
He may not have put the team on his back, but he threw for 2 TDs and no INTs and led the team on a good last drive into FG range that included a strong throw for a key 1st down conversion. Give the guy a little credit, he was the QB for the team that just knocked off an undefeated top 10 opponent.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:02 PM ^
(apparently lucky for us, but unfortunate for him) didn't get to play against us,
I don't know if there is that much of a difference between Peters and Matt Robinson. I thought Robinson looked decent last week. Peters' arm is a little better but Robinson is more mobile.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
Look at BPs stats from this game and then look at Shea’s stats at Wisconsin.
Shea played better and got the L, Peters completes 9 passes and got the W.
BIG TEN
October 19th, 2019 at 4:08 PM ^
The real difference was that the Illinois D outperformed the Michigan D against Wisconsin, as bizarre as that seems.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:26 PM ^
Also, Michigan was one of the biggest games on Wisconsin's schedule. Illinois falls between MSU and OSU. That's a classic trap game.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:12 PM ^
14/32 219 2 garbage time TDs GTFOH y’all love to exaggerate for Shea ... He couldn’t even sniff the end zone until we were down 35-0 playing with 3 future NFL WRs
October 19th, 2019 at 4:21 PM ^
Objectively untrue. He completed a 70 yard pass on his first pass of the game and was foiled by a Ben Mason fumble. I'm sure if you keep up your internet crusade against the starting QB of your supposed favorite team, Harbaugh will surely bench him and you'll be vindicated! Or better yet, Warde will learn the error of his ways and replace Harbaugh with you. That's definitely how this works!
October 19th, 2019 at 4:29 PM ^
After he over threw a WIDE open WR that would have been a TD or did you forget that ??
October 19th, 2019 at 4:41 PM ^
Why do you want to die on this internet hill so badly? Good grief man, you've made like 50 posts today about this.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:33 PM ^
U mad bro?
October 19th, 2019 at 5:01 PM ^
Who are these 3 future nfl receivers you speak of?
October 19th, 2019 at 5:29 PM ^
Bell, Eubanks, and Sainristil!
October 19th, 2019 at 4:14 PM ^
Most importantly 0 ZERO turnovers
October 19th, 2019 at 4:21 PM ^
It helped that UW dropped a couple of interceptions right in their hands.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
This is what I want to hear , none of the Peters is better than Shea BS, blah blah. I wish Peters the best, he lost his job to Shea period. The coaches saw something in Shea they didnt in Peters, Dont blame the kid for going to another school to showcase his talents, wish him well and move on.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:37 PM ^
Shea sucks.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:52 PM ^
They saw the same thing we see in Shea ABSOLUTELY nothing
October 19th, 2019 at 5:59 PM ^
Let’s not forget that Shea is JH’s hand picked upper class QB
Shea has gotten exponentially worse since coming here and playing for Harbaugh.
Harbaugh is legit garbage at player development, talent evaluation, and motivation. It’s proven time and time again. But the Harbaugh Fluffer Army just downvotes, screams troll, and pretends they are superior. Meanwhile, the losses pile up and trophy case sits empty.
October 19th, 2019 at 6:02 PM ^
Added to the Troll Cave. We have one loss this season.
October 19th, 2019 at 6:13 PM ^
Against the one legit team we played and it was an ass blasting.
Now the meat of the schedule is upon us and there is MAYBE 1 win in this stretch of games with PSU, ND, MSU, and OSU.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:06 PM ^
Definitely. Peters looks really sharp. I have a bit of QB envy right now . . .
October 19th, 2019 at 4:12 PM ^
I'm happy for him but he was very up and down, 9-21 for 174 yards, and narrowly avoiding a couple of turnovers. We probably wouldn't describe our own QB as "sharp" with those numbers.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:13 PM ^
I’m more happy for lovey. He is going to do good things. Oskee
October 19th, 2019 at 4:13 PM ^
Well deserved! I hope they can turn their season around and get to a bowl game
October 19th, 2019 at 4:15 PM ^
I'm definitely rooting for Illinois the rest of the way!
October 19th, 2019 at 4:15 PM ^
Congratulations to Illinois and Peters.
October 19th, 2019 at 4:16 PM ^
AND congratulations to The Beard!
October 19th, 2019 at 4:17 PM ^
Well always have Rutgers and Minny 2017. Godspeed BP
October 19th, 2019 at 4:36 PM ^
Peters should be the starting QB at Michigan now. Harbaugh quit on him for some reason...2 years ago.
Very unfair and Jim Harbaugh is fully responsible for the shitty QB play of the past 2 seasons.
October 19th, 2019 at 5:02 PM ^
I wasn’t aware we had shitty qb play last year. Thanks for the update.
October 19th, 2019 at 5:45 PM ^
I guess if your not a heisman winner than you were shitty. You know, if you aint first your last and everything
October 19th, 2019 at 6:35 PM ^
Thank you. Shea’s stats last year were respectable enough to go pro early. His stats should even back out to his ability level soon. One would hope.
