Game of Thrones season 8 trailer...
...has finally been released. I was starting to believe they would never release it simply because they want to milk it and there really is no need for a trailer - they know every fan is going to watch season 8 regardless.

did someone say something about a wall getting blasted?
Obviously by "white walker" Kool-Aid man.
OH...YEAH?!
the alien dies and comes back to life....
Dick. (very much /s for those sarcasm-impaired)
crg, they get away in a van, and the bikes fly, and ET asks the boy to go with him to outer space, but i won't ruin it for you and tell you if the lad goes or stays.
Sounds like a story from "To Catch a Predator".... very shady
LETS FUCKING GO
Yeah. You have been saying that to your army for a long time. They are listening. Calm down, wanna be king guy.
Get outta here BRAN!!!!
Knight King is Bran. Bran is Knight King. They'll have to kill Bran to kill the NK.
Maybe. I'm hoping Bran wargs into the undead dragon and eats his rider.
Go back beyond the wall, NK. And take your undead dragon with you.
Noice.
I'm disappointed Devin didn't show off his vertical and jump straight up to avoid those douche bags and then land on D'antonio like Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon.
Night_King,
Get outta here you impostor.
Sincerely,
JMFH
Hell Yes.
Cue the "everything's been shit since they ran out of book material" crowd.....
Been a long year and a half, but can't wait. My wife is friggin' beside herself waiting for this final season to come out.
I'm the self-appointed king of that army lol
Oh man. Another king in this game of thrones. Shall we call you Book King?
No, I never read the books. Just think that the show went from epic (one of the best shows ever made) to somewhat meh after the creators had to write it on their own. I'll still suck it up and finish the show when it airs. Hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised with their wrap-up.
IMO, the biggest mistake that the show made was with Stannis Baratheon.
First, I thought he was a great character. And while the actor who played him has gone on record saying he did not really enjoy it and did not get it, I thought that he was one of the most fascinating characters on the show and thought he would certainly play into the long game.
Second, they essentially devoted an entire season building up Stannis' role in the narrative and making him really badass only to have him 1) make the most inexplicable and narratively unsupportable decision of all time, and 2) killed in quick cut fashion within 2 EPISODES. I was like, "what did I just watch the last 8 episodes for?"
(And sorry for spoilers, but if you have not watched Season 5 of GOT yet you are just not going to watch the show at this point).
I do think the show rebounded with a strong season 6. Season 7 was up and down, but had some spectacular moments. Would be nice if they would stick the landing.
In all seriousness, I just watched through season 5 episode 8 last night.
Biggest disappointment for me is is that there are less and less boob scenes as the seasons go on. Danaryous showed her body quite a bit in the first few seasons, and now all of a sudden she is covering herself with a blanket. I assume the actress got a new deal and has more pull in what she shows. Disappointing to me.
There's plenty of porn to watch if thats really a deal breaker for you
I read that the UK has just banned all free internet porn sites! If the US tried to do this there would be one massive shit-storm.
So that's been your takeaway? The boobs?
Do you people not understand a joke. Holy crap what a bunch of nerds
Holy hell you butchered the hell out of her name LOL.
Daenerys
I'd say he was focused on something other than the spelling of her name.
I think the show side was rushed and stories like Stannis didnt get the ending they might have deserved. That said I dont think he was going to have a role in determining how everything would play out in the end.
I read all the books, have only caught part of the series.
I might be a wimp, but the series was just too hard core in it's violence for me. (The books aren't much better, admittedly).
To be fair to the show runners though, George, while a very talented writer, left them utterly hanging.
I would blame HBO more so since they rushed the series into production before the base material was even finished.
That presumes that Martin will actually finish the series.
those books will never be finished, so it’s either have a show or have nothing. i’d choose the show
Completely agree, the series came out in '96, I read the first book in '97. If he was going to finish the series he would have done it by now. He lost interest once he killed off the main thrust of the conflict with the Red Wedding and could never get his fastball back. It has been 18 and a half years since the last good book(A Storm of Swords) in the Series came out.
It's better to think of the book series as a great and open ended trilogy and the TV series as being the completion of the story.
I believe you are 100% correct in that. He's not a young man, hasn't been really banging out on that IBM of his, and I think is riding the gravy train right now.
dot yeah
I've got your back Book King.
To clarify: I've never read the books (outside of half the first one), but the show took a dramatic turn in tone and pacing once they passed up the source material. It's still great and I'm excited for 4/14, but yeah...
Read the books long before watching the show - and honestly only started watching the show since it takes almost decade for Martin to publish each book and I was sick of waiting. My assement is that (thus far) the books are better, but the show is decent enough. It would have better if he finished the whole story first and then published (wholey or in segments) rather the writing it in piecemeal, which would allow better editing/revision to keep the story arc smooth and on track).
I read in a magazine that they were all crying at after they read the script. Some of them were pissed. I can't wait to see what they came up with.
"Book is better than the movie (show)" guy is obnoxious most of the time. Books are only as good as one's imagine allows them to be. I'm glad I never read books that have been adapted for film. Game of Thrones is a perfect show. It's the best show.
You must be sorely lacking in imagination. I could count the number of movies (or shows) that were better than the book on the fingers of one hand.
Movies better than the book:
1) The Godfather
2) Jaws
3) ?
With regard to GOT, yes the series has gone beyond the published books, but I imagine the show creators are doing things under George R.R. Martin's guidance?
There Will Be Blood (Oil!)
Silver Linings Playbook
One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest
Mystic River
25th Hour
Gone Baby Gone
Apocalypse Now (Heart of Darkness)
The Silence of the Lambs
Goodfellas (Wiseguy)
No Country For Old Men
The Shining
Stand by Me (The Body)
It seriously happens all the time.
