Chase Winovich Appreciation Thread
Hate me all you want for not putting this in the defense thread, but Chase is a one of a kind. We have a few more games with this fella and I think we need to spend some time appreciating what he means to this program.
Hes a go blue guy all the way
its a travesty he's not a captain
He's as charitable a human that exists
and, oh ya..he's a top tier defensive animal.

His post game interview was the best thing I've ever seen on a television.

My favorite part was when the camera followed him off the field and caught him recruiting.
Chase is awesome. Reminds me of what my dad always told me about Bill Bradley's post-game interviews. Loves to talk and does it well, charismatic, no surprise he went on to a career in politics/leadership, etc.
I still think it's hilarious that on Chase's bio page he lists that his mom won a Presidential Fitness award in school.

Loved that interview. Would have loved to see the dancing referred to just before the interview. She couldn't shut him up, he was more energetic than the pink bunny. My wife cracked up, "who is this guy?" Also loved the interview interaction between Winovich and Shea. And loved to see him recruiting at the end.

Can anyone post Chase’s interview? I was at the game and didn’t see it.

Go to ESPN. Two clips of the interview are up, that's how good it was. There is no link, since it is in ESPN, but it is worth going over there.
Winovich: "The revenge tour has officially commenced." "I can't wait for Michigan State next week."
Shea: "I just want to know how your hair is so perfect right now . . . you just played a game."
Winovich: "It's all the product."
You couldn't shut Winovich up, and it was wonderful.

Luckily, since my 5 year old daughter loves "the girl with the yellow hair," I actually took a video of my screen when I gleefully saw his interview. Sadly, it was really late and my camera app was on "short video" mode, so this is all I got.
For anyone who doesn't want to click on the worldwide leader......enjoy
PS. Now I wish I had stayed awake another 10 seconds to see him crutin'.
Go Blue!

3.0 don't forget about Jake Ryan.

And star of They Live II: The Chasening. Boffo box office.

You're forgiven if someone can find a clip of the post game interview everyone is raving about.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:26 PM ^
agree. he's caring the dline. When Gary is absent, this defense seems play better. It's kind of strange. But I think we would want Gary to be fully healthy.
It's weird he was not voted for captain. But he show up on the field. That's the most important.
October 14th, 2018 at 12:12 AM ^
He's twice the player Gary is. And Gary is a good player.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:26 PM ^
I hope he serves as inspiration for Gary to come back for another year. Probably not, but here's to irrational hope!

Michigan would not be 6-1 if he had not come back. He has kept them in games for Patterson to win or stopped the opposition from making their comebacks. First round pick in the draft. Maybe top 10
October 13th, 2018 at 11:30 PM ^
Top 10 seems a bit much but I think he can get into the 1st. Love this guy.

This thread has been going for 7-minutes. How doesn't it have 12,000 comments yet?
I love this kid. And his post-game antics on the field -- both the interview beside Shea and the candid moment with recruits (Harrison was maybe one?) -- were *delightful.*
Kid is a[n elitely talented football] puppy.
Really enjoyable to watch. A good guy to root for.

Yes sir!!!

He is just a gift. An absolute gift.

Chase might as well be in the WWE. The dude is hilarious and the best edge defender in the country...hands down.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:58 PM ^
speaking about edge....chase sort of reminds me of edge from wwe. hair and all
October 13th, 2018 at 11:43 PM ^
Loved that he was telling recruits to come to Michigan on his way into the tunnel. Gotta love the guy
October 13th, 2018 at 11:44 PM ^
worth the post
October 13th, 2018 at 11:45 PM ^
I love that he goes online for research so that he can personalize the chatter he gives to the opposing offense. Crackup.
October 14th, 2018 at 12:25 AM ^
That’s some next level attention to detail. Personally, I was cracking up at the gameday segment with google and the players saying what their last google search was. CW deadpans, “Scott Frost” because he “wanted to see what he looked like”. Awesome.

Fantastic player and rep for the program.
We need to keep winning so he can keep giving epic postgame interviews.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:56 PM ^
Chase has such a great motor, is a great player, and has the best hair in college football.
October 13th, 2018 at 11:59 PM ^
What an awesome interview! He was dancing and wouldn't stop until surprised they were on camera! Shea said he has beautiful hair even after a game! Then he was recruiting! Just awesome!!!

Love all our Seniors.

New meme I created after his banter with the Wisconsin sideline.
October 14th, 2018 at 12:39 AM ^
Easily my favorite player on the team. He's super awesome.

I love this great Michigan man!! Great game, and his family (especially his dad rocking the wig at the game) was fantastic.
October 14th, 2018 at 11:39 AM ^
Chase is an animal. I still wish Jake Ryan was in the same class as Chase so would they both would be playing right now, same hairstyle more hilarity.

That was some great television. Usually the post game interviews are tiresome, but Winovich just nailed it.
