Yes. Somebody had to point out the absurdly bad announcing.
"Minnesota brought that jug to Michigan...."

"That's clay from the 1930s."

Apparently Michigan State coach Jake Yost poisoned the water in downtown Ann Arbor. RIght before the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor. And that's how the Big Black Jug rivalry was born.
Good grief that was bad.

to cut the score to 28-13.
Because as Mike Patrick pointed out, had Minny scored a TD, the Gophers would have been within one score, what with the new 11 point Super-TD.

"You don't want to have a turnover with that field position at this point in the game."
5:00min on the clock, Minnesota down 28-13. 15 points is more than a two score game.... I mean, crazier things have happened, but seriously.

2: the announcers spread the wealth well, and their QB deserved the hype: he's legit

You are so high. But that's a good thing.

Guy barely accounted for 200 total yards, 1 TD, and a pick-six.
World beater, he is.

to start about the run game that 3.2 per carry average after 35 runs and 113 yards rushing.
Truth be told, though, Patrick spent way too much time talking up Leidner. Minnesota played not to get blown out, and they got blown out, anyway. Even if the numbers suck, this is what it was.
The biggest number they didn't talk about was the lack of any Michigan turnovers, a first under Gardner. Michigan moved Funches outside and they made their Oline strength a strength when Schofield and Lewan lined up next to each other.

On another semi-related to the game note, it really burns my lawn that the post-game pressers are by subscription only now.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:06 PM ^
YPC isn't killer but it seemed to me that was largely bcs. the playcalling in 2nd half was to milk clock. Run on 1st, run on 2nd, throw if necessary on 3rd. Which worked fine, in the end. On pass pro and when the playcalling got creative the new line looked v. good, I thought.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:17 PM ^
Everything's coming up Jake!
October 5th, 2013 at 7:34 PM ^
I will say that I am not typically one to gripe too much about the crews that do the call either, but in this case, I am seriously impressed that they did not mention something about how decisely Mitch Leidner would sip his Gatorade. It wasn't good, to be sure.
October 5th, 2013 at 7:37 PM ^
It's like he studied before the game on how to knock Gardner was ready to pounce on any little mistake.
