I’ve answered this question multiple times but in short yes I would like that. Not my #1 choice (billy Donovan) but I would be happy with this hire. Preferred over yaklich or saddi
As far as how long warde takes it really doesn’t matter. Michigan has 9 scholarship players currently on the team. All recruits have already committed so all the new coach can do is get Jalen to recommit and keep Cole commited. Warde has plenty of time to hire someone but I would definitely want someone hired before June at the latest.
I think Howard would be a good hire here me out. The guy has been an assistant coach and knows the game of basketball. He has an nba championship as a coach and a player granted he didn’t contribute much but he knows what it takes to win. The guy has played with Jalen Rose Chris Webber Leviton James Chris Bosh Dwayne wade basketball greats. Was a member of the fab five that every high school athlete has heard of. His name alone can bring in the top recruits. As far as his coaching skills it’s a bit of an unknown but if he can hire a strong staff around him that’s all he needs. The fan base will be patient I hope but I see this as a successful marriage at least to keep us consistent with where we have been the past 10 years. Just my opinion
I think the reason everyone is freaking out is because Beilein was the best mens coach at Michigan right now. Replacing him isnt gonna be easy. I loved John Beilein. Always believed in the guy always defended him after the team would start slow and the board would melt down due to a bad game. Basketball was a always a sigh of relief after 7 straight disappointing football novembers. With a new coach, i dont know what to expect on the basketball side now. The pressure is gonna be doubled this season on football especially if basketball doesnt make a splash hire.

My hope for michigan basketball is to hire a guy that can get the big time recruits. The Beilein method was amazing but it had its limitations and cannot be replicated. Beilein was the best at developing talent. Anyone else is just a cheap copy. The program is back from the ashes and is well known nationally. Bring me a coach that can get 5 star talent. The big ten is up for grabs as far as talent is concerned. Not many elite athletes are going to any big ten schools. We can change that.
Why is everyone hating on warde? Let the guy hire someone and then if it fails we can crucify him. So far his hires in men’s hockey and women’s lacrosse seem good
Football is whatever although they have been consistent recently. They have men’s and women’s basketball and men’s soccer and ya that’s about it. I always found it odd because u would think winning in the other sports wouldn’t be as difficult as football and basketball
I didn’t really care about the bowl game. It was a meaningless game. I don’t understand the decision to leave early and then not get drafted? Did someone promise him he’s be drafted and then get screwed over or was he just arrogant in thinking he could be drafted? I never understand why anyone would leave EARLY and then not get drafted. I thought Gentry was also foolish leaving early but he proved me wrong and went in the 5th round with guaranteed money. Good for him. Higdons decision baffles me
Second guessing what exactly? The kid made a dumb mistake leaving early. Hopefully he is able to make the team. If he doesn’t it will be a decision he will regret his whole life
Poole might make mistakes in games but no way in hell do I want him transfer. I love Jordan Poole. Anyone calling for him to leave the program can leave themselves and please never come back. Please stay Jordan!

Can’t believe this hasn’t been mentioned yet but Michigan’s women’s lacrosse beat osu yesterday to improve to 11-0 2-0! Let’s match that today with a big win over KSU!!
I’m happy they made it but isn’t it better for them to make the NIT instead? At least they have a realistic shot at winning the whole thing. In the NCAA tourney they have zero chance at the sweet 16. The program needs to take the next step now and shoot for a 3-6 seed on a consistent basis. A big ten title would go a long way as well. I think they are very close

We said the same thing about Simpson after his freshman year. He was god awful but now he’s one of the best PG in Michigan history. Don’t make assumptions on anyone. BEAT STATE!!
