So top free agents in…

So top free agents in professional sports never go to shit teams (or in this case a middling team) just because they pay the most? I feel like this is not factually correct...

The other 75% was does the…

The other 75% was does the team have blue somewhere in its color scheme and border Ohio?

They tried and he used it to…

They tried and he used it to get a raise. I don't think he's thought of as a good coach, more of a just a recruiter type. So he's probably not a fit but he's very annoying.

I said this a year or two…

I said this a year or two ago... Michigan started winning just a winning stopped mattering in recruiting.

Yeah, dunno for sure as it…

Yeah, dunno for sure as it was just a comment that going through conferences as the employer of the athletes might be the best way to go. The mentioned issues with Title IX and scholarships but didn't get into it much more than that. Probably helps with other stuff like contracts not being subject to FOIA at state schools and whatnot as well.

Loved SLC but it was the…

Loved SLC but it was the only place I'd ever tasted air before. During the winter the pollution stays in the valley until a storm comes in and pushes it over the mountains. It was pretty gross and was hell on my wife's asthma.

Now we live in Calgary and the wildfires during the summer having me tasting air again... ugh.

Congress can always rejigger…

Congress can always rejigger this or change how tuition reimbursement works in this type of circumstance. Since it seems to be a bipartisan issue in not siding with the NCAA I wouldn't be surprised if they make carve outs for whatever is agreed to in the end.

Or the employee could always just be grossed up to cover the taxes as well.

But if you can no longer…

But if you can no longer afford to offer scholarships to non-revenue sports due to revenue sharing it would. I think that was part of the point. The scholarships (or whatever replaces them) would be paid via the conferences and there would no longer need to be matching scholarships in non-revenue (or we can just say women's sports since that's what would really be at issue) sports.

Coaches aren't students and…

Coaches aren't students and the schools don' receive Federal funding for them I would assume is why it's not a problem. Need to receive Federal funding for the Federal government to have jurisdiction generally (same thing in Healthcare if you don't take Medicare/caid funding you're not subject to HIPAA for example).

This is more a reference of…

This is more a reference of getting around the issue of sharing revenue with non-revenue sports.

I can't remember where I…

I can't remember where I heard it (Matt Brown or Cover 3 maybe?) but it was mentioned that players could be employees of the conferences to avoid Title IX issues since the conferences are separate entities from the Universities. Wonder if that's part of why it's being worked on at the Conference level.

After reading that list. Jet…

After reading that list. Jet fuel... it's not just for breakfast anymore!

Also, this has nothing to do…

Also, this has nothing to do with Jar Jar Binks... not that's a bad thing.

One might say he was waxing…

One might say he was waxing poetic. Funny that he's a guy he'd never recruit because he was a small 3* from NE.

I assume he got a look at…

I assume he got a look at the Ole Miss QB room and was like these guys have nothing on Orji... that's the ticket.

Don't think there needs to…

Don't think there needs to be Congressional protection the players can unionize and all of these issues can be collectively bargained. From what I understand anyway.

So is he the player that…

So is he the player that eventually sues the NCAA for unlimited eligibility and makes a career out of college basketball? I've seen it posited that someone will eventually sue and the NCAA would probably lose that lawsuit too.

Try listening to todays…

Try listening to todays episode of the Cover 3 podcast. They literally say both are going to a place where they can sit a year on purpose. But please continue with your hissy fit.

Why can't Michigan get guys…

Why can't Michigan get guys like Dante Moore and Rashad who want to sit behind an established starter for a year to get a reset on their career? Well you see Michigan doesn't have an established starter. Hope I cleared that one up for you.

It absolutely was, I had to…

It absolutely was, I had to look to make sure those were individual writeups. Probably wasn't going to happen with how many draftable guys there were this year without the book being worked on regardless. Who knows though, Seth is a machine.

Hey Seth, since you're not…

Hey Seth, since you're not busy with a Championship book why don't you write 17 draft previews for our guys?

Unless you're bolstering via…

Unless you're bolstering via MSU's DL depth chart.

The transfer portal has…

The transfer portal has helped MSU... rid itself of almost all of its NFL level talent while adding G5 level talent in its place!

Thanks transfer portal!

You sure that's not a transposition error?

Turns out using NFTuck as…

Turns out using NFTuck as payment for NIL wasn't the best idea.

In case anyone wants to read…

In case anyone wants to read a Sparty recruiting profile on him... I recommend you keep reading until the last two "paragraphs." Sparty gonna Spart as Seth would say.

Sankey and Petiti channeling…

Sankey and Petiti channeling Willy Wonka: "Stop, don't, comeback."

They're both probably going…

They're both probably going for SEC bags so I wouldn't count on M being involved. LSU and other SEC teams are desperate for DTs right now.

It can be explained in three…

It can be explained in three little letters. Come in folks say it with me now... NIL.

I'm sure you'll think of…

I'm sure you'll think of something.

I have a feeling we'd all be…

I have a feeling we'd all be gushing about Enow Etta if he was playing outside instead of inside due to all of the backup DTs being injured. That dude is huge and from what I could see looks like he can move pretty well at that size.

I didn't watch the ND spring…

I didn't watch the ND spring game but apparently their jumbled OL with a bunch of new starters gave up 7 sacks.

At least we didn't see that in our spring game. Their DL is a step below ours but it should be one of the top units in the country none the less and their OL lost jus6 about as much as our.

Hmmmm... thought you weren't…

Hmmmm... thought you weren't allowed to have more than 1 of those on your team at a time. Weird.

If the cheeseburgers would…

If the cheeseburgers had green chile topping they would have gotten the death penalty.

Like Sam said on the…

Like Sam said on the Roundtable you can only offer the NIL $'s that you have available. I took that to mean that there aren't enough donations at this point on the basketball side to entice him... yet.

Can't really blame Warde for that... but I do wish he was more forward thinking on the employment front.

There were some reports …

There were some reports (rumors?) that he hasn't graduated yet after 5 years. If he can't grad transfer then it's an admissions issue. Who knows though.

Are we sure this isn't a The…

Are we sure this isn't a The Last of Us situation here?

I think he's doing the Lord…

I think he's doing the Lord's work by being a thorn in the NCAA's side whenever the opportunity arises. I just have a healthy amount of skepticism when it comes to things like this when it involves him.

This is more about how Tom…

This is more about how Tom Mars operates/markets himself. Seems to always try to be in the news cycle to keep his name out there. If it were just about anyone else I would say MGrowOld's original assumption was correct.

Harbaugh isn't in college…

Harbaugh isn't in college football anymore so what exactly would he be using a lawyer that specializes in needling the NCAA for at this point? Mars is just stating a fact that a response was filed and then grandstanding which is his wont. I wouldn't assume Harbaugh approved this or even really cares anymore unless it comes from him directly.

Am I missing where it says…

Am I missing where it says Harbaugh is responding via his lawyer? It looks like Tom Mars grandstanding to me. That seems to be how he gets free marketing for himself (which good for him).

Cover 3 Podcast covered this…

Cover 3 Podcast covered this as well. Terrible year for QB prospects = maybe Shadeur being a 1st round pick. Sounds crazy but man this year's QB class is rough unless some guys break out (and the usually do but still).

I know the defensive staff…

I know the defensive staff has had like 3 months to build relationships with these kids as Michigan coaches. That should be plenty of time...

Listening to the Cover 3…

Listening to the Cover 3 Podcast and Bud Elliott sounds pretty convinced that the way he's building his team is for the short term. Once his kid and Travis Hunter are gone that team is heading for a cliff with all the transfers and very little recruiting. He isn't even visiting high schools he's making everyone come to him.

Might be trying to maneuver into a father/son NFL coaching deal. You really think his shtick wouldn't work with the Cowboys? Replace Dax with his son and let the circus blow into town.

And when Deion abandons ship…

And when Deion abandons ship after this year maybe they'll get another bite at the apple. Or they'll get the fast dude out of Columbus (Galloway?) and someone else and everyone forgets about Graham.
