I doubt UM will get much of a traveling allotment. Husky Stadium is big-for-the-small-time at 70K seats, and I expect tickets will be fairly tough to get because it's Michigan. I expect to buy my ticket on the secondary market from a UW "fan" who'll pay for the rest of his season tickets with my contribution.
So, my takeaway is that the NFL guys watched the National Championship game and said, "Yeah, that's it! Give me three of the players off of the squad that managed 13 points and two turnovers against the only NFL-style defense they saw all year! Whee!"
This season was a disaster, and while it's undeniably embarrassing for a loss to Michigan to be a boat anchor... keeping St. John's out of the tournament? Couldn't happen to a nicer vampire.

This game was originally supposed to be in Austin, where ESPN would have had the rights; they flipped it with the 2027 game. If you were a TV exec and you had to choose between Texas @ Michigan and Michigan @ OSU, you'd take. The Game 100 times out of 100.
I believe they draft the weekends later in the year -- maybe June? I don't know exactly how the process works with all three networks, but when it was FOX and ESPN, FOX's contract gave them first draft pick, so they'd pick Week 14, meaning "We get the first choice of games in Week 14," which would naturally be UM/OSU. Then ESPN would take a turn, and they'd pick, say, Week 2. They didn't make the selection about the actual games until the 6 or 12 day windows hit, but if you knew you had first choice a given weekend, you could announce it early -- and of course, they know what games are scheduled when, so they draft the weekends with that in mind.
I'm assuming -- without direct knowledge -- that the new contracts are similar.
If FOX gets that game, it'll be at noon. However, I can't imagine that they always get first pick. I was confident Texas would be at noon because flipping this game to Ann Arbor was a major part of the negotiations to get UT and OU into the SEC a year early. The Constitution stipulates that a president must be a natural-born citizen. McCain was born in the Canal Zone, but at the time that was US territory and his parents were citizens. Sainristil was born in Haiti and, AFAIK his parents are Haitian.

Then I realized how popular it apparently is, and the free admission they let you sign up for only gets you into a big holding pen half a mile away from the stage. So if I'm not actually getting to boo Roger Goodell, and if no Michigan players are going to be there in person, I'm not sure what the point would be.

This is how people who can think beyond the Neanderthal "grok say goals good!" level evaluate sports, because it has the most predictive strength. I'm talking about understanding analytics so that you can be better informed about why things are happening, not just what things are happening.
That isn't how hockey works. 4-on-4 and 5-on-5 are barely recognizable as the same sport. "Yes, there is more room on the ice" is like saying "Yes, the Grand Canyon is big."
And the point was that in '22, if Michigan had gotten to choose the rules, they'd have played 4-on-4, or (better yet), 3-on-3, the whole tournament, because they had one of the best offensively skilled hockey teams in recent college history. This BC team is similarly loaded and would make the same choice.
If BC lays a hit on Michigan during this power play, Naurato should challenge and hope that Random Hockey Replay Guy will see some phantom major penalty in Michigan's favor for once. The worst that could happen is Michigan loses their timeout.

I'm not even sure it's a trip under the rules -- he doesn't have to trip him on purpose, but he has to do something that causes the guy to trip -- get his skate in between his skates, for example. Duke simply, well, existed.
It's certainly possible to trip somebody with your leg, and it's true that intent is not required for a tripping call. Here's the specific text:
A player shall not place the stick or any part of the body in such a manner that causes an opposing player to trip or fall.
In my mind, Duke got penalized for not winking out of existence as the BC player skated up to him. I'm sure I've seen that called a trip before, but for the life of me I can't remember when.
I'm not sure how much of it was people "just wanting Howard gone" as it was that he had a reputation, after both the Maryland / Turgeon thing and then the Wisconsin incident, of being a hothead. It's a lot easier to take a story at face value when it fits into an established pattern of facts.
There is absolutely no way he'd have been fired this year if he took the entire season off for health reasons, regardless of the team's performance. I think he'd even have been given another year if he'd come back mid-February to a team that was struggling. By coming back so quickly, I think he made it look like a minor issue that needn't be considered in a performance review.
I'm tempted, but I'm worried that ten other people might have had the same idea. It'd be funny to send him one copy; it wouldn't be funny to send ten. 🤣

I went to Tampa last year. This year, I can’t get out of Austin Wednesday, or even Thursday morning, at a decent fare because the flights are still jam-packed with people leaving after Monday’s eclipse. So here’s hoping for one more win so I can attend Saturday, and then a second championship of the calendar year to celebrate Saturday night. :)

The NCAA probably refused to pay to keep the ice surface cold since the last time the arena was used. A cost-savings move... good for the environment.
Gauthier tripped the Michigan player after his steal at least as much as Dylan Duke tripped the BC player.
