Please don’t spend your time…

Please don’t spend your time golfing.

You have a day with the greatest works of the Italian Renaissance at your fingertips. Some of these have already been mentioned. Unfortunately, you just won’t have time to take in Florence in one day.

It really depends on what you want to do. Hit the highlights and deal with the crowds, or get a more intimate experience where massive tour groups don’t go.

Everyone converges on the Uffizi, Accademia (where David is) and the Duomo — and for good reason. You could easily make a day out of these three.

If you had to pick one, I highly recommend climbing the Duomo (Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore). Reserve a time beforehand. Going through the cathedral itself is not essential, especially if you have a tight schedule.

The following will either have very short lines, or no lines at all. In lieu of the Uffizi and Accademia, you could soak in plenty of tremendous art at all of these locations.

  • Duomo Museum: Lorenzo Ghiberti’s original Baptistery bronze doors are restored and housed here. This museum is a gem. Michelangelo’s Deposition of Christ is also on site. David gets all the love, but this sculpture is one of his last and argurably his finest.

  • The Baptistery: Next door to the Santa Maria del Fiore. It’s worth dropping in for the trippy Last Judgement mosaic on the ceiling. The bronze doors on the exterior are knock offs.

  • Bargello: No crowds. You can stand next to Donatello’s David. Brunelleschi and Ghiberti’s original Baptistery competition panels are here.

  • San Lorenzo and the Medici Chapel: Ground zero for the Medici. The New Sacristy features multiple Michelangelos. The Laurentian Library is also on the grounds of San Lorenzo, which is an awesome church designed by Brunelleschi.

  • Brancacci Chapel in Santa Maria del Carmine: (across the Arno) Breathtaking Masaccio fresco cycle, with some assists from Lippi.

  • Santa Maria Novella: Ghirlandaio, Masaccio and Lippi frescoes.

You are exactly correct. You are exactly correct. That's what I saw live as well. After rewatching, it's clear that was the strategy.(https://youtu.be/GgNpVmLEAlg) Outside corner probably made Renfrow's route more effective seeings their were two bodies on the ground in the way of the slot cornerback.
While a farther drive to the While a farther drive to the Arlington area, if you decide to stay closer to downtown Dallas it may be worth flying into Love (primarily Southwest flights). That's a very manageable airport from my experience - once took me maybe 15 minutes to get a bag checked and thru security. The Uptown area just north of downtown has great brunch, bar and food options.
You gotta imagine Tito will

You gotta imagine Tito will only let Kluber go throw this Cubs lineup two more times max, then turn it over to Miller. That means: It's extremely important for the Cubs bats to get on him early. They basically need a game identical to last night, minus the grand slam. Cubs must be up by 2 runs by the time Miller gets into the ballgame.

I think we're ignoring the

I think we're ignoring the bigger problem here. Vanderbilt played their final baseball game on June 24 last year, nearly two months after Vandy winter semester finals. Think of all the Nashville honky tonkin' and summer break fun those poor boys missed out on because they had to play baseball.

So are you asking what So are you asking what everyone thinks the defining moment of Michigan hoops has been. ...
At first, I too thought their At first, I too thought their main camera had some type of malfunction. That seems to be the only explanation for why this lasted for an entire game. The camera at OSU's arena does feel like it's on the moon. Perhaps they had issues and just couldn't haul another one up there into the rafters

Think he means that Think he means that contributors help the athletes write the pieces. Sort of like any book written by an athlete that has a "with ... (Insert author)." See Ray Lewis recent book for example. I'm sure all the material is original from the athletes, the 'real writers' he mentions likely just edit and structure it in a readable, compelling way.

I had same question and

I had same question and checked DG's numbers last year. Devin fumbled twice against ND last year and lost one. So even here, Rudock's two greater than Devin's one.

Tai Streets. Really the first Tai Streets. Really the first UM wideout in a long list I grew to admire
All I can say is UM has a All I can say is UM has a knack for getting it's own game winning FGs blocked. But yeah, I can't seem to think of a block since Prescott Burgess' partial tip . Even that was a smidgen of a finger if I recall
Yes. Those road jerseys. I'd Yes. Those road jerseys. I'd also like to see numbers back on the helmets. Think it's a nice touch and they looked great in 2011. Maybe I'm just partial to Alabama's helmets.
This certainly gets me This certainly gets me excited about the future. Whomever Harbaugh lines up in the assistant roles, things are definitely looking up. Hoke was only able to get the team to consistently be competitive for Ohio State games. Sounds like Harbaugh's method will have them ready and on that level every snap
I agree to a certain extent.

I agree to a certain extent. Sure, Michigan's kept it close with OSU the past couple years. But State has been a completely different story.

I would say Michigan is quite far from the level of play for either team, just how quickly Harbaugh closes that gap remains to be seen (though I think it will come in due time). Today's games pretty much put into context the level of State/OSU success: no lead is safe when you're lined up against them.

State came back down three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The last time a Michigan team could do that with the same degree of apparent ease was Braylon-fest. Even with OSU, they cut that Bama lead before half without blinking.

At least in the past two seasons, Michigan hasn't been able to turn the tide of a big game. Anything beyond a two touchdown deficit has seemed insurmountable.

There's a fine line between

There's a fine line between speculation and facts, especially when you're dealing with background/off the record sourcing. At least from personal experience, and it depends on the source, if you run vet a pretty reliable tip through one source in the know they may come back at you and call that speculation. It's really gut instinct at that point.

In a scenario like this, there are really only a few people who actually know what's going on (Hackett, Harbaugh, etc.). And they've kept a pretty tight lid on things. That's just the way it is. I mean, given their past reports, take what the NFL reporters are dishing out with a grain of salt. I'm in agreement with what Brian's said that its encouraging they're starting to hear similar chatter to what's been on the UM boards days before from the NFL guys.

That said, I find it pretty poor journalism when one article just throws a couple additional NFL names out their as potential candidates and other outlets pick it up. Then it's somehow transformed into "Michigan's looking at Sean Payton" for example.

Anyway, we'll find out soon enough.

I like the idea of bringing

I like the idea of bringing back helmet stickers. They just need to be given out for very high standard stuff (i.e. Denard's game winning Notre Dame drive in 2011). Seems like UGA, FSU and OSU just clutter the helmet with those things.

I'll be honest. I haven't

I'll be honest. I haven't been this entertained with football in a long while. The thought of another week of Searchbits warms my soul.

The real question

Who does David Byrne think Michigan's next coach will be?

Guess I'll just watch Guess I'll just watch Woodson-Boston highlights then. Thanks Urban
Good for Charles good for Charles. Just a shame he's finishing his career off with such a poor team. Still scratching my head why Green Bay let him, though I think money/age had something to do with it. He was the real glue on that defense during their last Super Bowl run. Rare to see such a talent continue to perform even past his 'prime.'
