I wonder if the move to paying players directly (as employees) is going to open a Title IX can of worms. Are we going to get lawsuits that football and basketball players are being treated different (wages) than female sports.
I can't argue with your first team selections but even though he was the National Player of the Year Trey Burke wouldn't make the second team cut for me. Ricky Green, Jalen Rose and possibly even Louis Bullock would be my options for the second team.
Next years schedule is dumb. It was bad enough to have 4 home games in September this year now next year we start out with 5 straight Saturdays at home.
Thanks for posting. I was there when I was 12 and again when I was about 40. Both times very impactful.
I have also had the opportunity to visit the American (WWI) Cemetery in Flanders, Belgium on a Memorial Day. Every year since 1923 local students and US Military representatives participate in this event.
The American Cemetary at Normandy is another amazing and beautifully maintained resting spot for over 9000 American soldiers, sailors and airmen.
All of three of these sites take your breath away.
There are times when it makes sense to finance a vehicle rather than pay it off at delivery. When interest rates were lower than now, say 1% -2% why take an extra $60k out of the bank to pay off off a loan when you were going to make over 10% leaving that money in the equities market.
Even when the rates were low I took BMW's offer of an additional $1000 of MSRP to finance, then paid to off after 3 payments.
The idiots. The games run long because of the additional commercials compared to the pro game. Now we are going to sit just as long when the actual number of plays goes down and the percentage of commercial time increases.
Yes Ohio State is dangerous and I would not want to play them again in the Playoffs. Just about everything went right for us in The Game. It seems for years everything went wrong for us and OSU got all the breaks. In the past on our first TD Johnson would have not caught his balance and would have fallen to the ground. In the past, Edwards might have stepped out of bounds by and inch instead of staying in on his 75 years TD run. Santristil would not have made one of the great defensive plays that prevented a TD. OSU would not have counted on 4th down at mid field. And will be ever get 5 TD's of that length in one game again?
We know we can beat them, butI doubt it would be a "blowout". There were inches in this game that takes it from blowout to very scary.
It's far from an anti-American rant. Unfortunately most American's don't get the opportunity to see the rest of the world. If they did it would be more like Jack Nicholson shouting "You can't handle the truth".
One of my favorite sayings of all time is from Mark Twain. 'Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.'
I have been fortunate due to work and leisure travel to have visited over 70 countries around the world. I have seen how the wealthiest and the poorest live both here and abroad. I don't want to live in any other country. I have also met many people who would never want to live here.
How many of you remember that two years after the Colorado miracle TD at Michigan, the two played again at Colorado in '96. The score was 20-13 with a couple of minutes to go and Michigan mishandled the clock and turned the ball over on downs to CU with 5 seconds to go at about the 37 yard line. Colorado again had time for one Hail Mary that hit a few hands before falling to the ground in the end zone right in front of a CU player. I attended that game too.
My hope is similar to years past. I want us to win the games we should and be competitive against the top Big team like OSU, PSU, Wisconsin and always beat MSU.
My biggest concern for '22 is replacing Hassan Haskins. The man was a beast who didn't fumble and was able to get the tough yards. Our offense should be at least as good as last year if we hang on to the ball.
Jones in the second half played like he did most of the season. Turning it over, making poor decisions when to start the motion, passed that were ill timed. He choked when it counted.
Now that's hyperbole. You haven't spent much time in Asian manufacturing facilities that produce for "most" top US companies. They may look young but a lot of effort goes into ensuring age requirements are aligned with developed countries.
I was all set to play St. Andrews with my brother but had to fly back to the US for a last minute meeting and could not get back in time. it is still one of his favorite memories.
He sure wasn't missed after leaving M-Football. I have travelled quite a bit and have listened to a number of broadcasters over the years. In this area we were stuck with two of the absolute worst in Beckmann and Blaha.
There is no way Smith should have taken a fall back jumper. Dickensian should have seen the ball to get fouled. We only needed one to tie. Dumb, dumb dumb.
Of all the games I have attended over the years the '95 Purdue game is the one I remember being the most uncomfortable. That is one of few games I can say I left early in the fourth quarter due to the weather rather than a lopsided score. That day had everything rain, snow, sleet and wind.
I sat through harder rains, more snow and higher winds. Not all in one.
In the late 80's I came home from work one evening and my wife handed me a poster tube that had come in the mail and said "this isn't fair advertising". Porsche had sent a poster in the mail that showed the rear of a Porsche Turbo with all four wheels off the ground. The kicker was they had affixed a "personalized license plate" to the poster with my last name on it. I had that poster in my office for several years. In 2000 I actually purchased a 88 Turbo similar to the one except mine was Red.
I found a copy of the poster on the internet. Of course it has that persons name on the plate. See the link below.
I still believe The Wire stands as the best TV series. The way they fit the 5 different storylines, one from each season into one intricacy woven picture. So many memorable characters.

As far as I'm concerned Noon is PrimeTime.
title IX does not cover coaches. It does require that male and female athletes receive equal treatment and benefits. Nothing to do with profits.
Oops. This was supposed to be in reply to Blinken and rc90 posts above.

5 turnovers in the last 6 trips

Dug has no idea what a good shot is.
This Team is the worst passing Michigan Team I can remember in at least 25 years They are a turnover machine.
I must be the only one who misses the Adidas gear. The “Junkman” gear I have purchased has been underwhelming.

I heard it on the radio driving into A2 last evering. To me a bit of junior high humor.
He needs to get some lessons from Barry Sanders on how good things are handled with class.
Ditch the DJ. Ditch the on MC.
We have a band. We have cheerleaders. Let them do their thing.
Crap!! Night games vs MSU suck.
Great news!!!!
Yes. I want every game to start at noon.
No. Not interested at all.
No way. It isn't just the kids who would get drunker.

A couple of shows I would add to my list are:
The Newsoom - The opening soliloquy by Jeff Daniels is a TV classic.
I also enjoyed Broadchurch,
Another British series that was very good is Bodyguard (not the movie).
There is a whole list of interesting shows under the Water Presents banner from PBS/Masterpiece. Some are German, French, or Italian.
The Wire
West Wing…
Drama:
The Wire
West Wing
Deadwood
1883
Comedies:

Even seeing Moore didn't make that worth watching. I want my 20 minutes back!!

Probably my wife's 1999 Lincoln Navigator. Bought it new and didn't keep it long. The thing sounded like a diesel and it wasn't.

Thank you for putting that amazing performance into perspective. A better tribute could not be written.
They have had my money for over a year now.
Taking three bad three’s at t end when we got all our points in the paint all night long. Dumb
We take three pointers when we need a two. Stupid

Two that I enjoy are "Gang of Youths" and "Mumford and Sons"
Trey Burke was not a better player than Gary Grant.
