lile it gets thrown around by a lot of the same people who, when talking about Michigan’s football team or other sports teams use the term “we”. Like they are part of the team or organization. Just annoys me.
And yes I’ve heard myself yell “Get off my lawn”. I’m old and I’m okay with it.
I say it’s unacceptable. Kelce seems to have become more arrogant and privileged based on his dating life, which I’m also tired of hearing about. I’d trade him to Carolina for draft picks and find someone who can be a team player.
I’d bet they were before the Natty, with John and Jay having Super Bowl rings and Jim with none. Loved Jim’s comment about sitting at the adult table after beating UW. And then you add that their sister is married to Tom Crean from the Izzy coaching tree and you get pandemonium!
What if the Chargers traded Justin Herbert for a 1st Round pick and he drafts JJ with one of the two 1st round picks he has? Could grab other needs like Barner or Zinter as well. Not sure how many late round picks they have. I could see this working out ina similar fashion to what the Lions did with Stafford.
I met President Ford in 1987 at the Scouting Jamboree held at GVSU. As a 16 year old kid it was cool. He met with about 10 of us for dinner which was sloppy joes and potatoe chips. He dribbled on his tie, which told me he was human. They went around the table and each of us got to ask one question. I was last to go and seated to his right. I was tired of all the questions about the White House and Air Force One, so I looked at him and asked “Who’s going to win the Big Ten this fall?” He laughed and he and I talked about football for 20-25 minutes. His handler was getting impatient and the President kept swatting at his hand to stop rushing us. He asked me if I knew he played and I told him I did, although I never learned the Willis Ward story until years later. He was a great man who was down to earth. World needs more leaders like him today.
What about a guy like Jim McElwain? Kind of a reclamation project but no stories of bad behavior by him or his players I can recall. Might be a bargain type coach with some experience.
Took a trip to Ireland this past spring and during a horse and carriage ride in Kilkenny, our driver saw I was wearing an M jacket. At one point he looks me square in the eye and said “That tree right there is a Buckeye tree sir. As you already know, it’s a worthless nut.” He giggled and then whistled the theme from “ The Good, The Bad and the Ugly”.
What I’m starting to see in the Lions is some depth. Didn’t see a lot of starters play and I was okay with that. Saw the draft picks do some good things (Campbell in particular). They should be fun to watch. Been around 90 years and have been awful for most of those.
When the dust settles I see a 24 team super conference with Cal and Stanford on the West Coast, FSU, Virginia, North Carolina and Notre Dame rounding it out.
Worst one I recall was Reggie Rodgers way back when Daryl Rodgers was the head coach. First round pick and very early (picks 1-5 or 6 maybe). Day or two after he gets drafted is involved in a drunk driving accident and kills someone. Never played a down.
I doubt highly that MSU will be a night game. Gives their arsonist too much time to get juiced up before the game and would lead to too many in innocent couches being incinerated.
I went down there in 2004 and it wasn’t too bad. My buddy, a Buckeye, advised that I do so in the downlow. Minimal M gear (tan hat with small Michigan helmet) and had no issues. Give it a shot, stay sober but I might consider a roll of quarters and a tube sock just to be safe.
Biggest piece of crap was a canary yellow 1979 Ford Fairmont. An exact copy of the one that shows up in season 2 or 3 of Stranger Things. Got rid of that for a $100 Cutlass Supreme that had holes in the floor from rusting out and every bump you hit made the headlights go out.
I was a student at EMU from 88-92 and had to drive a very old co-workers personally owned Ford pick up. Truck was early to1960s era, and the sides of the bed flapped in the breeze as I drove down Carpenter Road. I turned into the senior high rise to deliver a folding 8x8 wooden Christmas card and when I let go of the wheel after the turn it stayed in the same position. Almost drove over the curb and into a big ditch. I recovered but was I m-f-ing my boss!
I’m 51 years old and find it amazing that he and Bob Ufer are still the two main voices of Michigan I’ll always remember. Brandy was only the 3 rd pop guy (although Dan Dickerson did some games when Beckman called Tiger games). I may have missed it but have they named the radio guys for next season?
This would make sense. You force your coaches to coach areas where they haven’t to help them develop. Bo did this with Moeller and Carr, forcing Carr to defense and Moeller to offense.
Go back and look at the history of the program. Bo coached at OSU under Woody Hayes. Gary Moeller played at OSU under Woody Hayes. It’s been done before, just not in your lifetime.
I’ve actually been doing some job searching for myself lately, after 20 years at one stop. I’ve found that when they interview they DO let you know if they are going in a different direction.
Looking for a job is a lot different now than it once was. I wish your son good luck in pursuing his career.
I put my resume in when Harbaugh was hired. Just for the rejection letter. I think I’ll try again. My 7 years as a 2-7 grade coach is not to be denied!
That’s a different way to look at it for sure. I guess I struggle with what it represents. The lost innocence we all end up enduring in one form or another.
Harbaugh is the second best dog-bite-man story in Michigan’s college football history. Only Schembechler had a worse time. Heart attack in the eve of his first Rose Bowl. Going 0-forever in bowl games until the end of his career.
Im interested to read the book and hope to see more from it going forward.
No they don’t have a point. The game was lost based on the performance of two freshmen, McCarthy and Corum. Mistakes that they will learn from and grow from.
Mike McDonald learned from this loss too. Make no mistake they will improve defensively because of this.

I had a 45 record of that theme song. One of the best ever made, hands down.
You sure he was talking football and not jazz? Etta James would have gotten blown up as part of a D-line.
There are only 6 people on here who even get this reference, but we all approved!
No matter what, do not mention Godzilla!
I hate the term Natty too. It seems

I was there for Anthony Thomas’ fumble……
Did they forget they joined the $EC?

Sent Santa an email today. Asked him to fire Warde. I suggest this board load up his email and that of the regents.

Didn’t McDonald leave Michigan to be the DC with the Ravens?
Love the AI generated chicken art work!
Jay would keep the pipelines open to the Ravens and the Chargers. Worth keeping him for that reason alone!

Hail yes!

That scene is probably why he died early.
My favorite is Magnus, and I’m glad he’s still around. He complimented one of my comments once. During the Hoke era. It was cool. I had subs.

You have apparently confused dog shit for mojo. Paris is a giant dog park where no one picks up!
My vote would be New Zealand.

And being French they would lead the conference in arrogance from the get go.

Off-season practice schedule for basketball:
lay-ups
free throws
Two words- missed opportunities.
🤮
I snorted when I laughed. Thank you!

You just won the internet and broke it in one comment!

Luke Fickell, mostly because he’s getting all the Ohio recruits Michigan used to get. And he’s earned a shot at a big time program.

That right there is enthusiasm unknown to mankind.
Just wear the blue pants forever!
Just wear the blue pants forever!
I do believe they are 3-0 in blue pants this year!

This is one of the worst parts of growing up and older. All the people you looked up to as a kid show their faults and shortcomings.
I really hope that’s a contract extension and not some other kind of “extension”.
