I was pointing out how…

I was pointing out how society views it in today's day in age - we always seem to have different standards when a woman is applied to a given situation. It could definitely be sexual assault if it were a male as well.   But, with that said - I'm not sure if the law looks at it differently when someone slaps an ass to "cop a feel" vs. slaps an ass to get a rise and instigate a negative reaction. OBJ was clearly doing the latter.

I think a warrant for arrest…

I think a warrant for arrest is a bit much, but what OBJ did wasn't right and shouldn't have been done. He assaulted an officer who was on duty and in uniform - you can't let that behavior go unaddressed. It was inappropriate. It would be different if the officer was high-fiving people, giving hugs, and celebrating... he was not. Lastly, if this were a female officer, it'd be sexual assault.

So you're saying there's a…

So you're saying there's a chance... for Amazon's Detroit HQ2?!?!

We didn't hire Jim to win 9+…

We didn't hire Jim to win 9+ wins and then get hammered in a number of bowl games. We hired him to beat our rivals, go to the B1G championship, and compete for the playoffs. We've barely sniffed any of those things, and it doesn't seem like we will next year either.

From Jourdan Lewis - "Don’t…

From Jourdan Lewis - "Don’t talk to me about a free education, because when I got to school I was told I couldn’t major in graphic design. It didn’t fit my, “schedule.”

Our players may "school" a bit more than OSU's players do... but don't fool yourself with our education narrative. Our players are athletes first like every other major program.

And about this trend... next year, when we go 8-4 and lose all of our biggest games except the Spartan game, what will you say about the trend? I'm all for being optimistic, but at some point we need to face reality. We are not where we want or need to be, and Jim has failed us. It's year 5!

Any other coach, at a blue…

Any other coach, at a blue blood such as this, would get fired for shitting the bed so hard for the past 5 years like Jim has.

The University needs to ask…

The University needs to ask themselves if Jim is capable of accomplishing more than he has. They need to seriously assess and figure out their path forward. I truly feel this program is at a crossroads and one where the wrong decision could damage this program for the next decade or even more.

So... he looks like Seth…

So... he looks like Seth McFarlane..

That's always MSU's…

That's always MSU's narrative. Whether it's football or basketball. Izzo is the perpetual, woe is me guy, with regard to injuries. He just did that shit after the Kentucky game.

Yet we concentrate and…

Yet we concentrate and centralize more and more power with the government. We deserve whatever we get.

Young thought he was in…

Young thought he was in California... getting paid for his "likeness."

So, understanding that he…

So, understanding that he played pro in Europe.. how do the NCAA amateurism rules work in that scenario? Obviously he's playing at UM, but I was just curious. How is playing pro in Europe differ from playing in the G-league in the US? How do you have eligibility?

It's a sad day when a job…

It's a sad day when a job with the Golden Gophers is more attractive than what Sparty has put together up to this point. Their fan base is hoping for Fleck, but I don't see why Fleck would leave now that he has something good going and is positioned well in the B1G West.

I hope he rides his program…

I hope he rides his program right into the deep dark pits of despair. BPONE on steroids....

"We're not selling hope here…

"We're not selling hope here. We're selling results." Dantonio's famous quote from the 2015 recruiting class as he was taking shots at UM and all of the Harbaugh fanfare. I guess he has to go back to selling people on hope and lies once again.

Says the pompous internet…

Says the pompous internet tough guy who belittles someone's opinion without addressing the main point of their rebuttal.. a little self-awareness goes a long way, sir. If these types of posts offend you and your sensibilities, you may want get off of this blog and log off of the internet.. and while you're at it, you may want to disengage from everyday conversation as well as any mainstream journalism.

He isn't going to medically…

He isn't going to medically retire. He will have another chance to face up against Draymond at some point in his career. Did I need to spell that out for you? Does that make you the moron for not putting that together? Settle down there Tiger Woods

No, take him to task on the…

No, take him to task on the court now that he's on an opposing team. I thought that was implied, I'm sorry.

And he's definitely a whiner. He whined when he left OKC. Whined with Golden State. Created dummy twitter accounts to defend himself and attack others. He's just a bitch. And while the warriors are struggling now (a ton of injuries), they also won championships without Durant and dominated without him. Heck, they essentially got to the finals without him last year. He's a great player, but the bitch statement can also be true at the same time.

For sure! But the Durant…

For sure! But the Durant situation is one where I actually don't disagree with him on. He's quickly become unlikable and a bit of a bitch about things. Instead of whining about the fact that he left because his feelings got hurt, he should have taken him to task on the court and made an example out of him.

That would be silly.. She…

She'll be keeping my nuts warm at home

That's what I was just…

That's what I was just thinking. Ironic after yesterday's discussion

I'll be curious to see the…

I'll be curious to see the attendance figures. $100+ a ticket so that I can have the privilege to freeze my nuts off in the cold and very wet night... I love Michigan, but I'd rather watch that at home.

Beyond that, what's the…

Beyond that, what's the point of a tough schedule at all when teams like Clemson (albeit a great team) can go unbeaten in a crap conference and make it to the playoffs without much debate.

Both of those Florida teams…

Both of those Florida teams sucked so bad that they decided to combine them? Bold strategy! Too bad Tampa didn't get in on the act.

Do the best athletes in the…

Do the best athletes in the US play hockey or baseball? How about competing in gymnastics, ice skating, or swimming? Because many of those cater to those same economic groups and we compete at the highest level on the world stage in those sports. It's not about having the best athletes necessarily, or where you recruit your athletes from. Much of it is about having a competent development system - of which the US is quite poor when it comes to soccer. Soccer is one of a few sports where being a great athlete can help, but in many ways it is a very cerebral and tactical sport where you can compensate in different ways for those athletic deficiencies. Many of the top teams in soccer do not boast the best athletic metrics, but still perform at very high levels. England, Italy, France, etc.. high performing teams, good with maybe some great athletes, but more so they have overall good soccer cultures and development systems.

First of all, it's actually…

First of all, it's actually a word describing some girls who were acting like real jerks towards a kid who did not deserve that mistreatment, not a situation. Second, it's not an appropriate use of the word in the situation, that is all I was saying. Feel free to do what you'd like, obviously. I'd just like to think that we can be civil and have some decency, even in the face of bad situations like the one that's been described without resorting to calling 2nd graders c*nts. But hey, why not just act like the 2nd graders we're admonishing as long as we feel morally justified.

Assholes, jerks, brats,…

Assholes, jerks, brats, vicious little girls, etc. I get it, horrendous situation and I feel for you and your family. I'm truly sorry. But, you're still the adult, act like one. Better word use.

Shitty situation, but that's…

Shitty situation, but that's ridiculous that you called a group of 2nd grade girls the c-word. Classy bro. I get it's emotional for you as a parent, but come on.

Cool story, and happy for…

Cool story, and happy for the kid. It's awesome. But we need to recognize various levels of bullying, and the need for various levels of intervention. You don't need to take action and helicopter over every situation as a principle. It'd be impossible to do, especially in a school with hundreds if not thousands of kids where plenty of nonsense is said every single day. There are times when intervention is needed, but there are also times where a kid needs to learn to be resilient and stand up for themselves. If the case was truly a couple of girls being pricks, I don't think ti'd be the case where the teachers or principles need to come down with the full weight and authority of the school system. Give me a f*cking break.

We don't know a whole lot about what happened. Just be happy for the kid, and stop with the pitch fork mentality. Before you know it the twitter outrage mobs are going to be calling for the principle to resign.

I wonder if the UM AD's lack…

I wonder if the UM AD's lack of "cooperation" with these transfers is another way of our team signaling to the players on the roster that they need to weigh out their transfer options more seriously and not just run at the first sign of adversity. I couldn't imagine what team dynamics would be like if the transfer portal was so wide open with no restrictions. Unhealthy

I forgot, the rest of the…

I forgot, the rest of the team becomes a collection of mutes once captains are picked! Silly me.

We are so screwed. Where do we find the voices that were silenced?! Where is Don Brown?! Where is the rest of the staff?! Oh dear!

I wonder how this compares…

I wonder how this compares to NFL staff salaries. I'd be curious to see the comparison.

No, you missed my point. I…

No, you missed my point. I am not specifically calling out Baum, nor am I saying that if you don't agree with me then you're not being honest. What I'm saying is that we objectively crapped the bed last year. We lost a ton of talent. We've had a bunch of turnover with our coaching staff. Yet, there has been more of the same from the writers and many of the fans - hyping up Michigan and giving a free pass to Harbaugh and the team, glossing over our issues while pointing out everyone else's flaws. As a blog, it seems that many of us have been elated to hear about Vegas, Phil Steele, Baum, and all of the off-season fluff about Gattis and his offense. This isn't validation. I'm saying that as a fan base, we need to cool it on the articles and we should be holding this team and program accountable. We need to prove it on the field.

I am hopeful about Gattis and the team. I want all of the success for them in the world. But damn it, I was 8 when we won in '97. For pretty much my entire life we've sucked and have done NOTHING. I'm sick of losing to OSU, I'm sick of not winning a god damn thing, I'm sick of seeing shit teams and rivals crap on us, I'm sick of reading hype, I'm sick of believing in the hype, and I'm sick of getting my heart ripped out of my chest once again when we under perform and fail. Sick of it. People can write what they want. It's their job to make picks, etc. I'm just saying we need to be wiser and more critical of what gets pumped out there for clicks. I am demanding more from the team. Sick of the bull shit.

Did you miss the part where…

Did you miss the part where I said, "True?" They set lines based on many variables that aren't necessarily absolute. They also set lines based on trying to entice people to take the bet and the lines can also move based on betting activity. I'm just saying that Vegas isn't gospel nor is it always a great indicator of a teams success for the season. They are in the business of making money, and setting the line at 10.5 wins is how they are going to try to make money on Michigan. I'm not saying we are toilet water, but I'm not going to jump on the hype train that is being driven by the writers or drink the kool-aid. This team needs to put up or shut-up.

True - but they're also in…

True - but they're also in the business of cashing in on suckers.

No, but he is an unproven OC…

No, but he is an unproven OC of which we've all fallen for the "speed in space" hype. We're all picking Michigan to be better, disregarding the fact that we are installing a new offense with a guy who's never been the head offensive guy. While Day is the head coach and has never been a head coach, he was the man behind the best part of OSU's team for the past couple years, their offense. Sure, he is unproven as a head coach, but he is not a pepsi delivery guy with a headset. He is well regarded, well respected, has a ton of talent on the team, and will be taking this rivalry very seriously as every other OSU coach has - i.e. poaching two of our coaches at the end of the season. That's all I'm saying.

For sure, I can be objective…

For sure, I can be objective and apply that same standard to OSU. They have a ton of questions and uncertainty as well. However, they have a track record of excellence, are recruiting like gangbusters, and put their OC from last years team at the helm of the program... there may be a regression, but I have no reason to believe in Michigan. It's time for our program to prove it on the field, I'm not buying into it before they produce results. We have no excuses for playing at the level that we have for this long! MSU has more wins over OSU in the past 15 years. No excuses.

Not "shut up" in a literal…

Not "shut up" in a literal sense, but be objective and honest in the analysis. All we've had is hype for the last 15 years with nothing to show for it. The articles that should be coming out this pre-season should be critical of the program, of Harbaugh, and the pressure should be turning up on the program. I'm sick of these puff pieces and hype machines.

Does that also apply to…

Does that also apply to Gattis?

Ryan Day is not Urban Meyer,…

Ryan Day is not Urban Meyer, but he is more than just, "some guy."

And we schedule a really…

And we schedule a really good military academy during a time of year where our defense will still have little depth and is working to figure out how we fit together.

Sadly, it's the only time we…

Sadly, it's the only time we can. This program needs to step the f*ck up.

I agree. I also don't…

I agree. I also don't understand how Vegas and other sports writers are so brash in their predictions for this team. They have offensive talent, but there are so many questions and holes throughout the line-up. We have a brand new OC, we lost a ton of NFL talent from last year including most of our key defensive players, we have no depth on the D-line and questionable personnel being keyed in as starters in that group, and our running backs are Tru Wilson and a host of unproven guys. I kind of want the media to shut up and let the team prove itself game by game. After how we finished last season, we do not deserve any hype.

Best wishes to your friend…

Best wishes to your friend and his family. Tough break but everything will work out for them in the end. Thanks for sharing their story, it got my donation. I'll be sure to pass it along.

I hope that no Wolverines…

I hope that no wolverines are around... It might become a great National Geographic segment then

Yup, a wild and ferocious…

Yup, a wild and ferocious animal will be reliably trained to find weak and vulnerable avalanche survivors... these things would never see an opportunity in that situation to grab a quick bite. Next video post on this blog will be of a ski mask wearing wolverine walking down a ski trail.

We'd probably be charged $11…

We'd probably be charged $11 a beer even if the University did allow it at our games. They would most definitely find a way to ruin a good thing.

It obviously dominated that goat, but it acted like it had "been there before." Total class and like a true Michigan man.
