Up in Winter Park myself. Cable/Internet down all day. Thankfully went for a two hour snowshoe instead of following the game on my phone. Hope Comcast is back up and running soon so I can stream the hockey game.
Earlier in the season I noted (to myself) that these couldn't be the SOL because they weren't getting screwed by the refs on a weekly basis. Apparently this ref team didn't get the memo, or the memo isn't valid in dallas.
I took off my unlucky Lions jersey just before 2nd half kickoff Seems to be paying off. Incidentally, I quit wearing anything from the UM Adidas era a few years back. That too has been a good move. (Anything Lions during my 55 year lifetime is now getting kicked to the curb.)
They have a massive white block M up on Lookout Mtn. above the campus. Would be nearly impossible, but always thought it should be lit up or painted with the appropriate colors one night. Picture is the annual repainting of the rocks. (First attempt at inserting an image!!! Hope it works.)
Can hardly watch Game Day anymore because of McAfee. Reminds me of a morning DJ on a pop radio station. Needs to fill every available second with the sound of his voice. Add him to the list including Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith of personalities I immediately change the channel when they come on.
Went to Lincoln for the 2012 game. Big group of friends from Denver in a borrowed RV. Parked and spent the nights before and after the game in the lots Northeast of the stadium. (looking on Google maps they're labeled UNL Innovation Campus Student Parking). We were surrounded by other Michigan fans and had a great time. Bit of a hike to the stadium. Don't remember it costing us anything, but that was quite a while back.
Would also highly recommend heading to the stadium early and wandering around the lots to the West of the stadium. (INS lot - partially under the highway) It's packed with Nebraska tailgaters and they were very welcoming. Got lots of free food/beers while there.
Packing for a 16+ hour drive tomorrow morning. Lakewood Colorado to South Haven. Looking forward to 2 weeks of beautiful sunsets, golf, maybe some fishing and quite a few local beers with family and friends.
Sad news - One of my favorite Red Wings, first player I remember as a fan. I had the pleasure of hanging out with him a few years back after a charity game in Steamboat Springs. (Red Wings Alumni vs. Blackhawks Alumni) He had aged much better than many of those on the ice that day, skating circles around his opponents. He was so excited that I remembered his Vernor's TV commercial from the 80's.
As a Hope College alum, I thought this was very cool to hear. Planning on visiting both the Hope and UM campuses with my oldest son when we're back in Michigan this summer. I'm assuming he'll be teaching some classes too?
Uncut Gems just didn't do it for me. Most headache inducing movie I've ever sat through. I do agree the he had that ending coming, I only wish it had come 2 hours earlier.
