BTW, The Round Mound is turrible! He recently said (last week) that professional sports players should get preference for getting the C19 vaccination first because they entertain so many people. I guess that would keep his money train as an analyst as a viable job should the NBA get shut down for a spell. But I'm not sure that people of higher risk for C19 agree. You know, the people that aren't world class athletes with immediate and constant access to the best health care and diets in the entire world.
He's usually good for some cringe-worthy commentary, and this certainly fits that description...
January 19th, 2021 at 11:03 AM ^
His argument, from what I saw, was that they should get the vaccine because they pay so much in taxes. Not saying I agree with the argument, but he did add that bit in there.
Plus, what else are they going to talk about? Shaq said all that needed to be said about James Harden whining his way to Brooklyn, so they had to fill the air time with something.

Seems a bit harsh
January 18th, 2021 at 7:33 PM ^
It admittedly has zero to do with the post. More of a mood thing.
January 18th, 2021 at 7:30 PM ^
This isn't a grades thing. He has already graduated with a 3.5 gpa. Apparently a paperwork issue that Michigan could not resolve. Michigan better be talking to him as frequently as possible and coaching him up through zoom so that he can hit the ground running when he gets here
January 18th, 2021 at 7:32 PM ^
Honest question—are we still confident that he’s coming to AA?
January 18th, 2021 at 8:02 PM ^
We are not super confident.
January 18th, 2021 at 7:42 PM ^
Hopefully this is where goal #6 on Harbaugh's list kicks in and he comes unglued on whoever is responsible.
January 18th, 2021 at 7:44 PM ^
If he is graduated from HS with a 3.5 gpa right now and Michigan is not letting him in early this is a major screw-up. For him as well because I believe his school was going to be playing football in the spring and if he has already graduated I would assume that means he would not be allowed to be in classes in the spring or play ball.
Total mess there.
January 18th, 2021 at 8:29 PM ^
This is the only thing the people talking about Harbaugh being hamstrung by Michigan have a point on. The problem at Michigan doesn't just seem to be higher academic standards. There just seems to be some weird way grades and all are done at Michigan that makes it a giant pain in the ass for some recruits and transfers. Not sure what it would take to resolve things, but it gets really old because it doesn't seem to serve any purpose.
January 18th, 2021 at 8:51 PM ^
As a transfer student at UofM, can confirm that there are academic aspects of the school that are systemically broken. Things that don't pass basic logic tests
January 19th, 2021 at 11:06 AM ^
My son is a recent Engineering grad. While he was an undergrad, he thought he was all set up to take a transferable summer class at Oakland CC.
But Nooooooo! UM didn't follow through on their end missing the application deadline.
So nothing would surprise me!
January 18th, 2021 at 9:04 PM ^
Exactly.
January 19th, 2021 at 5:50 AM ^
truly not trolling here - but is this something that happens a lot? i know we missed out on the hoops transfer this summer (i think?), but i can’t recall this being an ongoing issue.
January 19th, 2021 at 11:07 AM ^
You're right - Nojel Eastern from Purdue had committed, had the grades, but his credits wouldn't transfer cleanly so it became a big problem. He eventually found another landing spot.

Well Demar Dorsey went from a 2 to like a 30 on the ACT and that didn’t get him in.
January 18th, 2021 at 9:20 PM ^
Upvote for a Demar Dorsey reference

Kelly Baraka enrolled at Michigan .... but then he got high.
He was going to score a lot of touchdowns too, but then he got high.
And now hes serving burgers, and he knows why, hey, hey
Cuz he got high, cuz he got high, because he got high!
January 18th, 2021 at 8:26 PM ^
Good god, if this is due to a problem on UM's side then this a monumental fail and Harbaugh should be reaming asses. If it's on the HS's side, then the Worthy family should be reaming asses. Both UM and Worthy would've benefitted greatly from enrolling early.
January 18th, 2021 at 9:35 PM ^
....so is eating ass so 2020 now and all the cool kids are reaming ass in 2021???

January 18th, 2021 at 10:54 PM ^
Wait wait wait, but I was told that Michigan had the same academic standards as every other school and that academics is just a scape goat?
January 19th, 2021 at 12:43 AM ^
Academics "is" a scape goat" (sic).

Anybody still think we are on an even playing field with the national title contenders? Can’t even get a kid in early with a fucking 3.5 gpa
January 19th, 2021 at 7:49 AM ^
You honestly think his GPA is what held him back? Better question, you honestly think Michigan fills out a roster of 85 scholarship players with GPA's higher than 3.5? Obviously something else went sideways here.
January 18th, 2021 at 8:22 PM ^
What's the paperwork issue and why can't it be resolved? Is he having cold feet?
