The frustrating part is we have been so freaking close so close so many times and just fall short. Harbaugh should have won in 2016 and 2017. Hoke should have beaten OSU in 2012 and 2013. Lloyd came up short in 2001, 2005, 2006, 2007. But thats just how this rivalry is its always close games but one team seems to dominate as far as record goes. In the 90s we upset OSU so many times but the games were always nailbiters. Even when OSU was bad we never blew them out.

Ohio St wins when it matters the most - the fourth quarter. Deeper more talented teams will win 9 out of 10. On MGoBlog starts don’t matter but in the real world they do. Harbaught has to recruit better players.

Jumping Johnny Kolesar vs. Chris Carter?

I think the talent gap is roughly what it has always been. Bo out coached the dinosaur that was Woody, did the same to Earl Bruce, Lloyd had the closest talent but still out coached Cooper.

We have to out prepare, out work and use every mental advantage we can leverage to beat Ohio. I’ve never seen the talent equal and I doubt we will.

I agree with him. I can feel the hate when on their forums. Their coaches all say shit against Michigan in public. Meyer says shit, that other fucker gauranteed a win and we just stay mute. I really can't stand osu!

of behavior. Maybe they feel that they’re above “talking shit”, and have no desire to sound like an Ohio State fan. If this had any impact whatsoever on the results of the OSU game, I guess an argument could be made that Michigan fans should all go get lobotomies, and trash talk on fan forums with Buckeye fans. But it doesn’t, so, phew!

By all accounts, we came to play and had a great game plan last Novemeber (and the previous year). It just so happened our QB was historically bad last year for the standards of the rivalry. I'm not trying to unnecessarily shit on O'Korn but he is, in my opinion, the second worst QB to start in the rivalry in my 30+ year lifetime behind Sheridan.

Honestly, I don't hold the 2008 game against Sheridan.  He knew he was going to get his head bashed in and took the snaps and played the game.

Michigan had another QBs stay home crying like a baby because he wasn't even man enough to stay on the field.

I agree with everything Woodson said. He said exactly what’s been going on lately. Harbaugh made it clear that every game was important. While it is, extra attention is not only needed but warranted for THE game. In public it was made to seem as if it’s any other game, but who knows what goes on behind the scenes. Start winning and none of this shit matters.

Never insisted, in fact I’m sure it isn’t. Harbaugh damn well knows the importance of the game, not only to be B1G champs but what it means to everyone who supports our great university. Woodson wants the swagger back & it’s kind of tough when we haven’t been able to win in recent memory

It makes sense. I mean go on any social media forum or drive through Ohio. Their fans are animals and hate Michigan as much as they love OSU. That game is their super bowl no matter how mediocre we are. To win the game we need to start having the same emphasis (not as degenerates like them, but care more)

I think that's a lazy argument.  OSU has been better than us for the past 15 years, nothing more nothing less.  We've also had some shit luck in these games, but it's not because we aren't taking the game seriously enough.  Urban has only blown us out once, despite having much better teams pretty much every year except 2016.  It's just that "we're not taking it seriously enough" is easier to say and accept than "they're simply better than we are".  With Patterson in the fold now, I think that changes this year.

Just as Mike Hart has the license to say whatever he wants about Michigan State, Woodson has every right to say whatever he wants about Ohio State.

3-0, made plays in all three. Good enough for me.

With the playoff format and Big Ten Championship game,  I "think" it slightly dimishes "The Game" becasuse the stakes won't be as high every year. Until it decides the conference winner and likely a playoff spot almost every year, I think the new generation of players wont have the same feeling as years where "The Game" decided a Rose Bowl birth or outright Big Ten Champion...or defined your season. You could very well have a few more games after the OSU game..its just not the same as "this is the last game" before the bowl game.

BIG Championship, playoff...dude, Harbaugh and the boys can't get their noses above third place in the division.  There is absolutely no reason to be thinking of dreams when they haven't met the reality of winning the division.  So yeah, the OSU game is the last game before the bowl game, and sometimes just the last game.

I disagree with this. Since Harbaugh arrived and the team started playing competently again, with the exception of last year, the season has come down to the OSU game. Win and they are in the B1G championship game and fighting for a playoff birth. Sadly, we have not experienced that yet so people are forgetting how important that game is.

Harbaugh had a great offensive gameplan last year if we had a qb with a pulse. 2016 Michigan is screwed by the fourth and 1 OSU converts to stay in the game despite the garbage penalty discrepancy. Michigan had their shots. I don’t think the issue is coaching. Hoke, Richrod and Carr probably get blown out in said games. Harbaugh is on the cusp. I really do think we win at Ohio this year.

It’s very easy to be better when the rule book doesn’t apply to your team. Further, OSU should be better than Michigan given the comparative trajectories the two programs took leading up to this latest period in the rivalry. OSU was winning B10C’s and an NC under JT, who seemed poised to take his place next to Woody, while Michigan was stagnating and festering internally. Michigan continued to trend down and reached ahistorical lows while OSU continued to thrive. Then, just when it seems scandal might knock them down a peg or two and allow Michigan to catch make up ground, they come out smelling like a rose and Michigan experienced a dead cat bounce. Harbaugh has done everything but win The Game. Close doesn’t count, everyone gets that. But let’s not act like Michigan didn’t have a lot of ground to make up nor that the gap hasn’t been closed to almost nothing. Be better! Sure, yeah. Playing on a level playing field would be a start.

Well. When MSU and OSU are both more talented, prepared, psyched and motivated it’s easy to see why we get our asses kicked ever year.

MSU is no where near as talented as michigan 8 out of 10 is the benefit of having hoke and rodriguez as head coahes. Harbaugh is 2-1 against state if it wasnt for a freak play.
