Just watch the Amazon series to see how it is clearly not "just another game".  Harbaugh was essentially a non-functioning shell of a human being after the MSU and OSU losses.  I love the crop of armchair warriors criticizing a guy who literally grew up in the program, played for M and beat OSU and now lives and breathes to make Michigan the best in the country.  He let's you make your pivot tables and cold calls in peace so leave him alone as he does his thing, too.

don't pass muster, WD. Everybody's pissed that we lose to OSU so they assert that the game isn't getting enough attention. It's sillypants. Give us a list of practical measures that giving it enough attention might imply, then let's see which ones are worth a crap, and then let's see if Harbaugh is attending to them. In this meantime. . . sound and fury signifying zip.

I'm sure they are coached to say absolutely nothing of value to the media and to especially avoid giving other teams extra bulletin board material. I'm surprised that isn't blatantly obvious to you.

It literally is the truth though. Imagine how this board would react if Michigan lost to some generic team in week 3, and all the players said "Who cares, we're focused on beating Ohio State" We would correctly view this as complete idiocy and something that Brady Hoke would have done

Its noteworthy because they were at the Chad Carr fund raiser with Charles in attendance. When your Heisman trophy winner and top-five player in Michigan history makes a statement about Ohio State, you write about it. She’s just doing her job dude. Chill

I mean, I could be wrong, but I think it has been emphasized well enough - the problem is that we haven't had a lot of success in it lately. That being the case, you can emphasize something to the hilt and not be terribly successful for a stretch, and as others have indicated, the more pressing issues are definitely elsewhere.

The problem is that Urban Meyer has basically said that he is obsessed with this game, and he's undefeated against us (6-0 at OSU). We say we're obsessed with it and yet we've only won twice (2003 and 2011) in the past fifteen years.

So when that happens it certainly seems like we're not really emphasizing it enough, to some. It can't just be that Urban is insanely lucky in all these matches.

People act like the two teams are even in all ways up to the game..ugh.  OSU has had a pretty big talent edge and we know that talent makes a big difference.  Michigan has the coaching edge, which has given the team a chance the last couple of seasons.  No matter how good the coaching or the game plan, when the game is on the line, the players (talent) have to execute and unfortunately, Michigan's players did not.  This coming season, Michigan will finally have top-notch QB talent, experienced WR talent, seasoned RB's, improved OL talent, and of course a top-rated defense with a lot of talent.....and all at the same time.  The future is bright!

Didn't we say exactly this last year? And the year before that?

"OSU has a talent advantage, our players failed to execute, but not THIS YEAR! This is the year everything changes! This season, we FINALLY have the players we need at key positions! And we'll be improved enough in our weak areas to win! Just wait and you'll see!!"

Care to make a score prediction, then?

"Michigan wins 24-12."

Ah. Got a soft spot for the classics.

How would you say Michigan has the coaching edge when Meyer has like 3 national titles a ton of undefeated seasons while Harbaugh has never won a p5 conference title ? And don’t give me that nfl bullshit

He isn’t lying. It worked for OSU when JT was hired. He focused on UM from day one. Also, the main issue has been talent. OSU bought their players when JT got involved and it hasn’t stopped.

they won some close games, that with a different bounce, maybe don't go their way. lose those games and maybe they don't get the recruits. don't get the recruits, don't have the dynasty they have today. paid or not, their on field success has done them well. they've always recruited well.

That reply wasn't there when I replied and that's fair. They've always been good. I agree. They have fantastic coaches and talent, but being able to cheat makes a difference. Going from great to fantastic makes certain things easier. If they didn't pay anyone, they'd still be really good, and they'd still win most of these years but it's easier to not have a down year when you can pay players. It bridges gaps or even keeps you from having bad years.

i get it, i know they did. but they would get who they want, regardless of tattoos and a $500 hand shake. that's the easy stance to take. "welp, they paid players, so i won't really think about the other reasons they've recruited well since 1985".

I've not once disagreed that they paid players. hell, they get better cars than Alabama players. i also recall the wr from Florida who, on his official visit to osu, tweeted out about how osu players do so many drugs. osu is not somewhere i would want my child going to. I've never once even half considered rooting for them in any situation. i hate Ohio state more than any other sport villain (even Crosby bitch ass). they've recruited well since john cooper. even before jt brought his brother in to give cars, no show jobs, etc. Michigan took a huge downturn in recruiting during rich rod, and a huge downturn in development during hoke. lack of success against Ohio state is not because Ohio state pays some guys. there's 7 years of ineptitude in there that Harbaugh has (what appears to) finally overcome. winning is the ultimate sell to recruits.

I’d be curious to know how many big ten championships or championship game appearances we would have had since 2004 if we would have beat Ohio State.
