Will Corum injury affect playoff seeding?

So with the tragic news of Corum's season ending surgery, how will the playoff committee view UM without their best player?  The committee has said previously that they take injuries into account in their ranking.  Any chance his injury causes us to drop even if we beat Purdue?

Top 4 is locked if they all win. We proved agains OSU that we can still win a big game without our best player. We just have to adapt and play the type of game we are capable of.

Considering we just dominated the #2 team on the road without him, while our back-up RB was wearing a fucking cast on his dominant hand, i'd say the impact is somewhere between zero and -1

He’s going to get a lot of run in practice the next month. Hopefully that extra time and coaching will payoff and he’ll be a capable backup to Edwards. I’m really hoping they get a game plan going to really involve Edwards  in the passing game if we do in fact meet Georgia again. His ultimate ‘form’ as a running back is Reggie Bush IMO. We will see if he gets there.

Assuming UM beats Purdue and Georgia doesn't lose UM is locked in at #2 and at worse they'd be knocked down to #3, which is functionally the same.  So no, can't see this changing anything.

"The committee has said previously that they take injuries into account in their ranking."

Based on what you said above, I suppose it's possible. I, however, doubt it.

It would matter at the margins. Michigan is far enough ahead of TCU that it won't matter, especially as they already beat Ohio State without him.

Based on the current trend, Harbaugh will go to Oakland, Sainraistil will punch an old lady, McCarthy will get hit by a bus while meditating, and a forklift will run over Mike Morris's leg. I'm worried. The universe doesn't want a Michigan Naty.  Maybe a Michigan natty starts world war 3 and MSU time travelers from the future will do anything to stop it. Not because they care about WW3, but bc there's no more couches left to burn in 2045.

This comment made me think so hard of the the Simpson’s episode Homer at the Bat. “Shave those side burns Mattingly!”  Ken Griffeys severely swollen jaw. Boggs is knocked out by Barney during a bar fight at Moe's (over a disagreement on whether Lord Palmerston or Pitt the Elder was the best British Prime Minister), Ozzie Smith falls off the face of the earth, Clemens literally becomes a chicken, Canseco retrieving an entire homes worth of things from a fire.

If we win, no. Our back-up just ran for 200+ in the Toilet Bowl.

It sucks to lose Corum. I get it. But all hope is not lost, and if you think about wanting to put a positive on this, this is a trial run for Edwards in being able to handle the load next Fall, as well as Stokes learning the ropes and hopefully working his way up to becoming our next Haskins.
