Because hindsight is 20/20
I'm glad he came back but he played much better his freshman through junior years. For some reason this year he just seemed a step slow, almost as if he had an injury or something. The clutching and grabbing seemed to be needed to keep up with people.
So we had a "why did DPJ leave" thread to a "why didn't Lavert leave" thread.
It worked to get DPJ drafted, I'm just trying to do my part.
It's a half joking half serious question.
Almost time for the drinking thread. Hell, after my sons zoom baseball practice, I’ll start with a cold beer. 80 degrees here in coastal San Diego. Real feel is around 87.
What a stupid fucking post. Why didn't Ambry leave this year? Why does the sun rise in the east? Why why why?
He must of thought the team could beat OSU at home, win the B1G and get into the playoffs.
Classic case of a player who might've stuck around too long.
I logged in just to tell the OP that he’s a stupid asshole. That is all.
Thanks!
You’re welcome.
unfortunately for lavert he hasn’t gotten better since 2017. He seems like he’s lost a step and he’s extremely handsy. Two things that do not fair well in the NFL.
Fare.
So in your mind, he stayed because he was tired of losing? Oooookay
He completed his education. This is a good thing. He likely would not have changed his professional trajectory regardless of his decision.
Yep, he probably made the right decision from a 'life' perspective. Given how late round CBs usually work out, he'll probably be in the working world in some capacity within 5-10 years at most. Good to have that degree in your pocket
If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we’d all have a merry Christmas.
Them short arms definitely didn’t do him any favors in the draft . Corner from Florida international picked before him
Give the kid a break. Let’s see how he does. He is going to work for it.
As I write this, still 6 selections left.... I am surprised Glasgow was drafted and no Hill yet
he had a crappy year, I think he is better than that
Wouldn't be surprised if Glasgow got drafted solely for special teams (FSU Bowl game mishap excluded).
He had a pretty good year until he ran into OSU and Alabama. The reason he didn't leave last year may be that he didn't get a great draft grade and was trying to improve it
I honestly would have never guessed him not getting drafted. It's a shame.
Any kid who comes back to uofm instead of leaving for the pros is awesome ! Once you leave uofm you will never play for a team again. You will play for a contract, play for this or that, but never a team again.
Playing for a contract is a better option in this scenario.
You guys are still glamorizing college football like it's something special and not just an underpaid minor pro league.
That's not how this works. He didn't leave because he would've been in the same situation, as probably not a drafted player. Good college player, and he's got a shot at the NFL, but at some point 5 10 190 corners with average CB speed can be found anywhere. Declaring a year early doesn't change those factors. Again, sitting out for chunks of practice and having to be called out for it was the final nail in the draftable coffin.

Because he wanted an mgoblog thread about why he left

Anyone ever think on this thread that his draft evaluation he received last year wasn’t very good either?
