The Lottery is the "poor man's tax" as they say.  $1B = $739M one time payout.  The tax on that will be around $300M.  That's a lot of tax dollars generated in a short time from mostly middle to lower class America.  Now that you have $435M after tax dollars it is hard to give it away to friends and family without paying Gift tax.  You can only give away about $11.6M tax free in your lifetime as the law stands today.

I wouldn’t want to win that much money.  The thought of having $600 million dollars stresses me out.  I’d be happy with a couple million.  Retire at 50.

Congrats to the winner.

I was glad it came from a Michigan lottery ticket .

If the winner is here can he see his way to a house loan of just $50K ?(doesnt hurt to try right)
