What do you think about Justin Fields Status?

Submitted by Mineral King on November 27th, 2019 at 3:10 PM

IN MY OPINION... his ankle swelled up to the size of a softball and he tore a couple ligaments in it. He’s been getting treatment all week round the clock on that and his thumb. He’ll say he’s ready to go and will play, but will play like shit because he hasn’t practiced much this week and he is facing a team and a crowd he has never seen in his life. Let’s be honest, no way that dude can handle much adversity. He got beat out by Jake Fromm, so he made up a story like a little bitch, because he wasn’t good enough to play. He is fucked boys. We still gotta score though... will Shea be ready to ball? I think so! Jim is cooking up something real nice.

Oh no, we must never criticize “kids” who, though legally adults in most respects, play college football. You know their brains aren’t fully formed until they’re 25, so they shouldn’t be held responsible for anything they do or say, even they’d be treated liked adults if they committed a crime. Finally, I’m shocked to hear opinions expressed in a sports blog that aren’t completely supportive of athletes and their feelings. What is this world coming to?

I'm not above hoping he's too injured to play Saturday. He shouldn't even be eligible right now. M should be preparing to squash a 9-2 Taint Martell lead osu.

F#$k Fields and f#$k osu.

And if he is a little slowed down out there... hello Mr. Uche and Mr. Paye.

Fuckin’ A. I hope he is restored to perfect health immediately after The Game. And if he plays, I hope we scheme accordingly. The White Knighting around here...Jesus. We get it, your compassion transcends the lowly tribal bounds of collegiate athletics. Everyone get the signal? This person has altruism coursing through their veins. This is an *enlightened being*. Take note.

I expect he’ll play and I hope he does. If we do win, I want to beat the entire team.

You can almost bet any status reports are going to lean towards the thought that he’s practically on life support in order to keep our hopes high.

Michigan Message Board guy--

Never has enough hate!

I mean, who is the real bitch? The kid who wants to play football and doesn't want to sit on the bench, then PROVES he is worthy by leading his new team to the verge of a national championship--

or the "adult" who rants and raves on a message board about it....

So, as a free speech advocate, I’m not real big on the “moms, ban this guy” thing. But meta question: have they kinda stopped doing this in the interest of generating controversy and engagement? I wouldn’t at all blame them if they did, but it definitely feels like Open Season for troll accounts around here. And seriously, that’s totally cool by me. I like objectionable speech and contrarianism. Even base trolling. But they should probably keep faith with the commentariat and say that’s the new policy. Otherwise there’s just this kinda “But but but...did you hear what this Ohio State dicknose said?!” feeling of confusion, when really, people should just #FanhammerNotBanhammer these kinds of sons of bitches.

I think this is a stupid post.  Ohio State has consistently beat Michigan with banged up quarterbacks, and back-up quarterbacks that came in after we knocked the starter out of the game.

I think we need that clumsy photographer to make another appearance. Remember the guy who banged into JT Barret's bum knee during pregame warm ups a couple of years ago? Maybe this time step on Field's foot or hit his braced thumb.

Word around the OSU campus and Columbus is his ankle is sore but it should be somewhat OK.  His real problem is his left thumb as he's been seen with a splint on it and hasn't practiced yet this week. He'll have a problem grasping and holding on to the ball.  Watch the point spread drop as we get real close to the game.

Whatever...  this might cut down on his running to avoid serious damage and save him for the B1G and CFB.  That means we could concentrate more on Dobbins.

We'll see how the football gods like the winter weather in A².

I think he's so injured, they've placed him in a bubble for the week. The only chance he has of getting out is if by chance has to be be rushed to the hospital over a Thanksgiving game of Trivial Pursuit.

He's going to be good to go. Hit him as much as possible. Twist his ankle and his thumb in piles. See what he's made of. If he takes our worst (best) and still beats us, tip your cap.

As a fan, I hope he sits or plays poorly because that gives us a better shot at winning. As a human being, I hope it's nothing serious because it's pretty terrible to root for or otherwise take pleasure in someone being injured.

I think all the bad OSU karma that has accumulated during the Tressel/Meyer era is about to fall on the bobble heads of Ryan Day and Justin Fields. . .

In 1971 it rained, snowed and ended with a rainbow over the Stadium as Michigan snoozed to a 10-7 win over OSU.  17543 days later, history repeats.

C'mon man.  You were doing so good as a poster the last several weeks.  If Fields can't run, why would you think Dobbins will run all over Michigan?  The threat of Fields running is what opens things up for Dobbins.  Have you not noticed all of the RB's Michigan has shut down over the last month and a half?

This the same guy that transferred because his feelings got hurt at Georgia?

Surely he can’t play with a sore foot or thumb.  Sorry, any other week I may have sympathy. Not this week.
