Wednesday pre-B1G Title Game POSBANG...with a Quatrain

Ok gang, my Middle French is a little rusty, but I found this reading some Nostradamus during a boring Teams meeting about APIs yesterday.

My translation to English:

“A great retributive force of crowbars and shop tools will awaken beyond far Hyperborea.

The city of Bur Oaks and Two Wives will lay siege to the city of the Genovese Captain.

The prodigal son and his lieutenant, a son of Carthage, will lead the attack against the citadel of the portable Privy.

There will be wasteland stretching to the gates of Duquesne.“

- Michel de Nostradame

(Century 45; Quatrain 23)

Now I know trying to fit what Nostradamus wrote centuries ago to modern events can be dodgy, but as I'm reading this, he predicted last Saturday's edition of The Game.

I won't spell out how I arrived at my conclusion.  You can reason it yourselves.  Feel free to add any of Nostradamus' quatrains that you feel also predicted The Game.

GO BLUE!!!  BEAT PURDUE!!!

I read up on Quatrains on Wikipedia.  Seems to be pretty formalized for my limited wordsmithing talents.  I shall endeavor to produce a bang-worthy Limerick:

A desperate Day promised One Hundred to Hang

“We’ll Win!” His troglodyte followers loudly Sang

When the game was done

T’was the Wolves had fun

Buckeye dreams were crushed with a Bang!

Our stern gaze now turns to the deformed visage of Purdue Pete and his lackeys.  Maybe hang a hundred on them?  Go Blue!

Last year they beat OSU, won the b1g in style and were just happy to be there in the playoffs without any real chance of beating what was arguably one of the best cfb teams ever.

This year they went unbeaten, trouncing OSU at their place in a game none of the talking heads even thought they had a chance to win. They should win the b1g going away and cruise into the playoffs with the idea and goal that they CAN win it all. One game at a time, business as usual for another month and a half and end up as one of the most legendary teams in Michigan’s history.

I think it's time that Michigan's Engineering Dept builds a drum larger than anything Purdon't will bring.  I don't think it needs to be sonically perfect - just build the damn thing and roll it onto the field for a few bangs pregame.  The Boilers will be all like 'What the'???

WE OWN ALL THE TRADITIONS NOW!!!!

From the article:

"I don't ever like to depend on winning a game on a forward pass or a field goal.  If you have to do that, your chances of winning are slim."   - Bo Schembechler

Boy, we've come a long way since those days!  Thank God!!

Did a High School research project on Nostradamus after watching a hour show about him.  Truly fascinating.

But in all respect to him, I will give it a shot on my own Quatrain.

From an empire mired in the depths of BPONE...

The anointed son returns to fulfill his destiny...

Trials and challenges lead to the path glory...

Armed with his protege and a force forged in his image, destiny has arrived...
