He should have called Draymond over to kick him in the sac. What's with this weak ass shoving crap.

If this was reversed and Lowry shoved him, all of sports media would be losing their minds and calling for Lowry to be suspended for the rest of the Finals.

Sorry to beat a dead horse here, and I realize this is apples to oranges, but if you have court side seats is it okay as a fan to walk into the coaches zone and give him a shoulder massage?

I'm glad the league made the right call here with this guy, but both sides of the equation should be punished.

You're really gonna both-sides this?

Drake is essentially a member of the Raptors organization. He has a club in the area. It's weird to give a shoulder massage, and if Nurse was uncomfortable with it he could definitely bring it up to the organization. To say that's comparable to shoving/cussing out an opposing player is disingenuous at best.

Drake's company OVO is in partnership with the Raptors.

Not sure how anyone can equate Drake giving a neck rub in jest to Nurse, presumably a friend, to some dude pushing Lowry after he was making a play and fell into the stands.

you can make aggressive contact with the players period.

Yes I am going to "both sides" this, and can you read? I already said it is apples to oranges. Sorry, let me dumb that down for you... Pushing vs. Massaging. Got it, good.

Drake is not ''essentially a member of the organization". He is Drake. He is celeb. Big whoop he owns a club inside of the arena.

Drake giving a back rub to Nick Nurse is equivalent to a regular court side fan giving a high-five to a player after a big shot. Both are done in a joyous and positive manner. This idiot thought to shove a player when he was a couple seats down, not even involved in the incident.

Adam Silver does what's best for the players of the league, and this is another example of it.  Was the push hard?  No, but that's not the point.  The guy had no right to put his hands on a NBA player in that fashion.

Let me ask this, if a football player on the road jumped into the stands to make a play, how do you think fans would act? Would the fans push the player back on the field? Would fans help brake up the play too? I think they would. How many of you threw marshmallows at opposing players too. A thrown marshmallow could do as much harm as that “push.”

Wow. Neg away. My take is perfectly legitimate. Throwing objects is far worse. If the NBA is set against players interacting with fans, maybe they should put up glass like in hockey. Like the baseball netting situation, this is a fan safety matter. Large players jumping into fans could cause serious harm. If the league is going to respond this way, just put a stop to it permanently. Pushing a large person, who is the opposition in a heated environment, that just crashed into your lady or buddy is not an uncommon human reaction. You have a “super” fan for the Toronto team that is allowed on the court during play, can rub coaches shoulders, and start altercations with players on the opposing team, and the league thinks it’s cute. The NBA is the worst.

That, or you can act like and adult and not an infant when a player is making a legit play on the ball... ?

you know, like how 99.5% of other fans have behaved when similar plays have happened when a player happens to fall out into the seating areas

WTF. If he wasn't an "investor" or other courtside Richy Rich he would've been removed from the arena immediately.

I know court side folks should not touch players, but holy shit. The overreaction to this is unreal. So soft. So sensitive.

So you think it's perfectly fine for fans to push a player that falls into the stands? Sorry tough guy but it isn't being soft or sensitive it's called common sense and not doing something stupid. The guy is a minority owner and KNOWS this shouldn't be accepted. Players have the right and expectation to play the game without fear of someone putting their hands on them.

A player working hard to help win the game can, and should be able to, plow into the stands with zero repercussion.  If you don’t like that, don’t sit courtside.  The next step will be to remove all courtside seats so the players just dive to the floor instead of on people, costing a ton of $ in ticket sales.

I love all the tough guys on here calling NBA players soft or pussies. Go push one of the guys playing and see how it works out for you, no chance any of you guys have the stones to do it. none. The level of aggression is not the issue, it is the fact there was ANY aggression toward the player at all. period. Sorry but I don't think the punishment was harsh enough, if a normal person did that they would be banned for life from NBA games. The fact this idiot was a minority owner and knows the rules makes this far worse. He should be forced to sell his shares or if he keeps them lose all privileges as a minority owner and has no say in team operations, no voting rights and banned from games. If he wants to go to games after a lengthy ban he can sell his stake in the team and buy tickets like the rest of the public. This guys attitude just screams of privileged, elitist, narcissistic entitlement asshole who thinks because he's loaded and a minority owner he can do whatever he wants.
