Sadly, that was a great speech and part of the reason why we lose every year. Which is why I’ve separated fandom from real life. And when we lose, I turn the tv off, forget it even happened and get shit done around the house.

You can say what you want about Urban and sure calling a 22 year old man an asshole in a position of authority probably not the thing to do, but do you think part of the issue is that as he says Michigan players and coaches lump OSU in with Penn St and Wisconsin’s of the world and the focus isn’t singular on OSU 365? The speech was to fire up the football team, calling someone in asshole and such probably is fairly tame for most locker rooms. It’s not like he was out in public calling him an asshole.

MSU got our attention and look at them now.  OSU has our attention, Michigan will come back, the tide will change, this could be the year. I don't blame Meyer for saying any of that stuff (and I don't like him).  Quite frankly, most of us say similar stuff about MSU and OSU and wouldn't blame coaches for making similar comments. I only draw line at trying to injure someone (cheap shot), or winning at all costs (cheating).  I don't like players guaranteeing victories. Let's be honest, Michigan hasn't beat OSU since forever and you guarantee a victory at the shoe?

If you look at ranking of each teams starters they are pretty even talent wise. Depth is where there is a big difference. Michigan doesn’t have the room to whiff on a recruit.

There are positions where each team has a clear advantage. Perhaps the biggest advantage is OSU has been running same offense for years. The gap is closing with Harbaugh at helm.

if the offense M has seen last 4 weeks is here to stay, things will be different going forward.

I got a million reasons to hate Ohio State and Urban Meyer, but I ain’t gonna lie, that was a helluva speech.
Having said that I hope we beat their asses Saturday and I hope coach H goes for two every chance he gets.

When Michigan starts winning this rivalry again, and they will, just throw this bullshit speech right back at OSU and Meyer.  What a complete tool.

You guys are fucking pussies, I hope Harbaugh is saying a lot worse about them. You soft mother fuckers got your feelings hurt because Urban called some guys some names? HA! I would have loved to line up from across you bitches and I would love for my coach to talk sHit about rivals.

Don't you get it, I would rather my team never win another game than be anything as pathetic as you.

UofM will win multiple championships in the next few years and you'll still be a loser.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a lot of name calling going on in here. Even worse than the terms Meyer uses.

Just like the above poster.

So grow up.

I know this may be an unpopular opinion, but I see nothing wrong here. It’s a rivalry. They are supposed to hate us. And we are supposed to hate them. His point that guaranteeing victories and wearing Revenge Tour shirts is amateur when you get spanked like we did is dead on. Michigan would do well to adopt this exact approach moving forward. Our goal should be nothing else than the absolute destruction of the OSU football program, game after game, year after year, decade after decade.

You know he's gonna be brought in to speak to the team again before The Game.

It's clear he's a master motivator (as well as all time great coach obv), and it's also clear that they take the rivalry more seriously than Michigan.

Maybe last year really did change things and Michigan will step up and turn the tide.

I hope to God that's the case.

I mean Higdon wanted to be famous and opened his mouth last year... so when you get worked that bad people can talk... nothing wrong with that.

I was there last year at shoe... we need to win a game before we care about their bark.

It sounds like a pretty good speech to me and I have a feeling Michigan coaches probably say similar things to their players. You may hate Meyer, but he didn’t talk much shit about Michigan; he just won the game, every year. Those associated with OSU hate Michigan and want to beat them badly, and vice versa. That’s why it’s such a great rivalry. Michigan’s coaches, players and fans shouldn’t spend one second worrying about words spoken during a coach’s speech. As it will always be, there is only one thing to do: win.

Separate the wins and losses for a second, and when you read this rant, the irrational hatred they breed around this rivalry isn't cute. It isn't gamesmanship. It's deranged. Completely deranged.

It's a football game. Bo vs. Woody wasn't about this.

Currently employed by Fox. I can safely say that if I were the head coach of UM I would convey a similar opinion that Meyer spewed from his disingenuous mouth but actually have credibility. The same guy who has ‘dream school’ exceptions in his contract since he coached Utah that includes UM. My opinion would be less full of shit. I would simply reiterate everything UM is as a program, and that “there is no game bigger to our lives than this game. It’s a culture war. They cheat, they cut corners, they have no respect for anyone. They are obsessed with us because deep down we are something they never will be. And mark my words..yes they have owned this series lately. But history is a long and stubborn thing. And when people look back at this time they will look at 11/30/19 as the time UM fell on the right side of history and kept it going. And then Urban Meyer left the studio and took his next ‘dream job’ at USC a week later. Go Blue.” That’s what I would say. Seriously fuck that guy. My word what a con-man.

I don't have a problem with what he says we should take it as seriously as they do we aren't supposed to like them never have and never will he gets it.

Yeah and he was banging co-eds and let murderers play on his team. But they won him national titles so what does it matter?

I don’t doubt that he’s a master motivator and a top 10 overall football coach. He owned Michigan. No way around that fact. But he’s still a piece of shit. But hey he beats Michigan so none of that matters. It’s amazing what you gloss over and forgive when you win.

That’s nothing.  You should have heard what Vada Murray said about OSU in Bacon’s class a few years before his passing.

Hell, Coach O’s postgame speech after beating Bama was as profane as it was awesome

I don't give a rat's ass what that POS says.  All that matters is beating Ohio State.  If we haven't spent part of every day since that defeat last year game planning and preparing for this Saturday, the team has already failed.  Ohio State is always a loss away from being #2 in this Rivalry, and it's OUR job to put those punks back in their place.  Let them talk about "Respecting the Rivalry" and cross out their 'M's.  Let them self-fellate themselves over their easy schedule and their lax compliance department.  Let them rationalize abusive coaches and NFL-Defensive Ends who 3 years into their career take a loan from a "family friend" and don't report it until the press finds out.

As Papa Beilein preached: "Do more, say less."  Beat the fucking Buckeyes.

Go Blue Motherfuckers!

And this is why they win every year. This. Exact. Reason. They don't make t-shirts or pop off at the mouth at us. They go to work to beat us every day. Once Michigan starts deserving to win this rivalry they will win
