The truth about Harbaugh.

There are some thing we can rightfully question.

The fact remains:

The two men that he has relinquished control to, and have counted on the most to do their jobs....

Have completely let him and us down. As have their subordinates (namely Warriner and Nua).

The buck stops at the top, ultimately.

Go Blue.

Not sure what happened towards the end of fall camp, but a lot of key guys got injured - starters - DPJ, Runyan, Stueber, Wilson, Jeter, Dwumfour.  I think we are under-estimating the impact injuries to two key areas - OL pass pro and DT run defense.  And you add early game limitations to Shea and Charbonnet to really throw in a monkey wrench.

We need to find offensive plays that fit our personnel and the limits we have.  Like that zone read option run game is dead in the water - we don't have a healthy QB who can keep it or even a workhorse RB to make it work.   When we did move the ball with McCaffrey running the keeper he got blasted (twice w/ targeting) and is out potentially for weeks.  We can't risk that to Shea otherwise we have Milton and McNamara neither of which is ready.

So the brain trust needs to go back to the drawing board and put together a game plan that works with what we have.  My view is short passing, jet sweeps, power run fits, and then get the ball to Collins deep off of play action  - like 7 shots a game one-on-one even if it's a jump ball type throw.  Getting Wilson back would be huge for pass pro in that type of spread offense.  The challenge is figuring this all out on the fly during the middle stretch of the season so we can be competitive when it counts most.

I've seen it many times that a guy who doesn't seem ready, is, and is a gamer,Like when they are forced into action.   favre out of the gate.  Like this kid Minshew.  Yeah those are pros.  But McNamara might be a guy who has to play to step up and run with it.  Maybe Milton is too. The problem is finding out is a risk.

Based on your original post and your responses, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that your day job is writing manuals in English for Chinese electronics.

This post is horseshit. The only failures are not speeding up the offense last year, causing a drastic move, and that move might be failure too we don't know yet...and two, the roster and recruiting management.  No DT, no upperclass OT.  it's killing everything else.    Nua can only work with what he has.   Browns gimmick defense works with proper DT, though I still say it's unsound and gets gashed too easily.

Pro tip: any time someone prefaces their comment by saying "the truth," "objective," or "rational" you can disregard it since it's unlikely to be that. If it were, they would not have to say so.

This is even less insightful than the vast majority of drunken middle-of-the-night "I have found the Truth" posts.

I'm a WVU fan so full disclosure. I'm also an admirer of UM because you are historically the constant foil of tOSU. A lot of people move back and forth between WV and Ohio so the fanbases overlap. That being the case I hate tOSU and want Michigan to be back...As a college football fan you have to admit that when UM is strong....the game is better as a whole.  Also our greatest coach came here because of Bo...soooo without him we dont play for 2 NCs and win 3 bcs bowels over the last 35 years.

Anyway back to topic. I think its fair to criticize Harbaugh. I also think he has hit some things out of the park but the thing that stands out to me is he seems to have trouble with picking his staff. The D coordinator was a home run but the process for picking the OC was....lacking. There is a lot that goes into a cohesive staff and my understanding is that little more than a phone call was used for the interview process? I also worry that he is a hard person to be around long term. I dont think you fire him unless the wheels fall off or he posts consecutive 8 win seasons. Its hard because I dont think UM is in the same situation as Nebraska....UM can still be a powerhouse.

That is assuming he has actually relinquished control. I recall last year he talked about it was a team effort with regarding to game planning and play calling. We harp a lot on the play calls but that is only half. Play design is key and although we see shot gun formations more, the design on the run plays are still power plays and the pass plays are still long developing plays. Those are Harbaugh designs. His hands are still on the offense and will always be on the offense along with the other offensive coaches because that is the way Harbaugh has set up the system. Its hard to have cohesion when there a 4-5 voices involved in the overall design.

Speaking of conspiracies...  It's out there, but who knows.  Is it possible that Harbaugh is/was crazy enough to sabotage the team with Gattis to prove his point that manball is king?  This is all just so bizarre, so baffling, I'm starting to consider the unlikely lmao...  Trying to keep a sense of humor about all of this.

What, here is the truth they lose to teams that are better than them it does not matter who the coach is.  This team still not talented enough to compete with the big boys and it is not changing in the near future
