He didn’t even make it to USC it seems…that is a big time recruiting win for UM. Think Joshua Uche clone in my opinion. Also, sophomore transfer from coastal Carolina would have typically not been an easy transfer…I wonder if the Santa rumblings are true.

Mig,

How likely is it that a president would ever tell admissions to expedite or prioritize athletic admissions. Does that happen?

The Santa speculation seems specious. Just wondering if you have any insight. I doubt athletic admissions even registers with the President's office.

I think Santa is aware of the importance to athletics in getting their players in. The idea of him getting personally involved and telling admissions to push players through sounds like a fantasy to me.

I think if it ever became a real issue, like if there was an internal debate about rewriting admissions policies for transfers, that Santa would perhaps weigh in on the side of the coaches.

This is like the 12 Days of Christmas all over again!  I love the portal now!!  Welcome to Ann Arbor, Josiah - once again the home of Championship Football!!

Why would it make you wonder that?

We effectively have no scholarship limits now. We have NIL. We have a team that is crushing, and still ascending. I see no reason to infer some correlation between another OL transfer, and being "out" on 23(!) other recruits?

Please explain.

I mean techinally he made two plays in the MSU game that were tds not just one. I wouldn't write Anthony off yet for next year, presuming he doesn't transfer. Think he just had issues with blocking, route running, etc this year that caused the coaches not play him as much. Things that could potentially improve for next year, he has the raw physical tools.

Excellent portal success continues. I’m wondering how active Georgia, Alabama and OSU are in going after transfers? Are some of the biggest schools less interested in the portal, making it easier for Michigan to have this kind of success? Or might players who’ve played college football have a better perspective on what’s most important in choosing a school than high schoolers?

Great question. It’s probably complicated.

It’s so bleedingly obvious why Michigan is a good choice of program to anyone who isn’t an 18-year-old whose parents are forcing him to get that bag asap.

One thing I’d guess is true: the NIL merchants have a harder time bringing in transfer guys at a position where they just paid a high schooler $2M and promised him a starting gig.

Harbaugh and Co doing work in the portal.  Beating the guy, who I was told was comin', at his own game after beating him on the field.  Lets keep the good vibes going!!

I am very confused.  It looks like yesterday, receiving the Moore award for a second consecutive season, would position Michigan as “OL U” (not to be confused with Olu).

Over the past few years, Michigan has been feeding the NFL with a “steady diet” of defensive linemen, which positions the Maize & Blue as “DL U”.

So, which is it?  DL U?  OL U?  Maybe just “LU”?   Both?
