...days until Matthew Godin (DT 2012-2016) sees Michigan Football start anew for 2019 against the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders at The Big House.

Welcome to another summer, and thus another season of "There Are". If you don't enjoy these posts and their glances into Michigan Football history as we get prepared for the upcoming season, kindly do not click on them, just to keep yourself happy and healthy.

Since this season is a year where offseason hype needs to be shoved aside as we look for nothing except some serious accomplishments on the field when it matters, I am going to try not to get you pumped up, but simply remind you that in the distant future lies a day when all of that meaningless talk can be put aside, and "The Team, The Team, The Team" can have a fresh start to prove themselves worthy of the Michigan glory displayed throughout the countdown.

ufer: butch, don't call me harold, woolfolk

classic.

freshman year.  a number of friends in that highlight reel.   and while the 'there are' threads aren't my favorite, the pay off is spending a couple of minutes watching these old tapes.

go blue.

100, actually. My countdown app to 8/31 says 100.

OP: I have another idea. Maybe this year you and your friends could clutter up the board with something halfway useful and not worn-out.

I thought the "There are ..." posts were clever the first time I saw them. That was a long time ago. Now? They're like the old restaurants in Ann Arbor that are running on fumes. Or, maybe like the announcement of the Slippery Rock score at Michigan games, a "tradition" that lost its charm years ago and is meaningless (or just silly) to a big percentage of the audience.

While I disagree with you, the only things I would suggest the OP do are 1) not reply (twice) to his own thread to get more points and 2) actually look at how many days are left. Again, it’s 100. Now the there are threads will be a day off the entire summer. They will be LIES!

The beautiful thing about a blog, is to simply not touch a topic you want skip.  As to cluttering up the blog with a single line on a list is way less clutter than a rant about traditions being irrelevant, which of course is an irrelevant comment itself.

So I'm definitely not always a "glass half full" kind of guy when it comes to the football team. This long drought has made me cynical.

However, yesterday (for whatever reason) I suddenly got the urge to listen to Journey's Don't Stop Believin'....well, a whole day of that song on repeat later (cause it's an awesome song) and I'm not going to lie, I was really feeling it for this upcoming football season. All I could imagine was the team finally beating OSU and standing there in Indy accepting the B1G trophy...everyone cheering, crying, celebrating...thinking and saying "We finally made it! It's been a long hard journey, but this program has finally achieved redemption!..."  or something like that.

Any how...yeah, I'm really stoked for 2019 after yesterday. Let's go get em' bois! Show em' some speed in space!
