I have never worried about vacated wins (everyone knows what happened anyways)or punishment this season.

My fear all along has been that this whole thing sends current guys into the pros and Harbaugh leaves, and the cupboard is bare again like with Rich Rod.

All 150+ members of the team. Staff, players, etc. should file lawsuits for "Mental anguish" against Thamel. His irresponsible reporting has caused undue duress on every member of the team.

This. I'm not and never have been a litigious person. But everyone with any angle should sue the hell out of B1G, ESPN, Thamel, his dog, Ryan Day, OSU, whatever. Rack up a lifetime worth of billable hours and go after everyone. The discovery and deposition transcriptions alone would be worth it.

I think the B1G would be walking into a world of shit if they do that. I don't even remember the B1G doing anything like that for MSU and OSU with Tressel. I remember for Tressel they let the investigation play out and that was actual rule breaking.

On 3/7/2011, the press alleged that Tressel had committed NCAA violations. Ohio State, having been been aware of this for about a month and in the process of preparing to self-report, announced the following day that Ohio State had fined Tressel $250,000 and suspended him for two games. About a week later, at his request, Tressel was suspended an additional 3 games (to match the suspensions previously handed down against 5 OSU players). It took over a month before the NCAA actually sent Ohio State a Notice of Allegations on 4/25/2011. About 5 weeks later, on 5/30/2011, Tressel resigned. The NCAA investigation wasn't finished until December of that year, at which time they issued a 5-year show cause judgement.

So no, they didn't wait for the NCAA investigation to play out. I presume that the Big Ten didn't need to take action because among other things, Ohio State had already imposed quite substantial penalties upon Tressel .

Ah they self imposed, but still, the other conference members didn't try to force the B1G to act after a week or 2. They OSU beat them to the punch, but they let it play out longer than this. There was nowhere near the bloodlust for a violation that actually had a massive role in what happened during games.

This is likely a way for the commissioner to appease the hyenas. He's a Harvard Law School grad. He knows that there isn't enough public evidence for this kind of action. I think most legal people think thiswill get an injunction.

According to Ono they have not, but somehow have evidence which I assume means they turned over to the NCAA. Weird that you would have evidence, give it to someone else so they can investigate but not wait for them to finish and also not start your own, just skip over to punishment.

I hope this doesn’t send me to Bolivia, but here goes…..

According to my source, Harbaugh will be suspended indefinitely on Monday.  The university is preparing a lawsuit against the conference and asking for an immediate stay on the suspension.  Grounds for the suit are violation of conference rules on investigations and irreparable harm from the timing of the suspension.  My source works for the law firm representing UM in this case.  The firm is working this weekend to determine whether to file the suit in local, state, or federal court as reaction time is critical.

This is about to get real.

That is insane if true. I cannot believe the conference would actually suspend a HC indefinitely during the season, while an investigation is going on, while they themselves haven't investigated. I mean over advanced scouting too.

That is just incredible that they think that's actually cheating. No one wants to look into tampering in the portal or NIL being pay to play, but this is the hill you want to stand on.

I pray that Michigan absolutely destroys the conference in court and begin the process of asking boosters to hire PI firms to investigate everyone. This is a war now and if the B1G fired the first shot, Michigan better fire the last one.
