DO Want.
yes. ain't gonna lie. i love guys with speed that can take it all the way to the house.
March 14th, 2023 at 10:44 AM ^
So, you're saying that he can leap into the end zone from just inside the 7-yard line.
March 14th, 2023 at 11:08 AM ^
i like how you're thinking. We could solve all goal line offensive issues if we would just recruit a few high jumpers to go up and over as well!
Haskins (a high school high jumper) was very good at the up-and-over.
Could we get a pole vaulter? I haven't heard of any rules against that!!
Walter Payton approves this message.
Man would that have come in handy vs tcu!
too soon

that’s great and all, but can he hurdle fools?

Sam Mcguffie could. . .
also too soon

Why would a high potential prospect like Taylor even consider Michigan?
Come on - what's going on in Ann Arbor?
So, there's that two consecutive Joe Moore award winning OL.
Then - there's a solid RB coach named Mike Hart.
Oh - Michigan does seem to have a track record of developing players.
And, the RB room has had a few players recently named Haskins (who is stuck playing on Sundays now) - and Blake Corum & Donovan Edwards at the position today.
The coaching staff seems to like to incorporate schemes - blocking, offensive, etc. - that position players to be productive on Sundays, if things work out.
Culture seems to come up quite a bit too - with the team being "very tight / close / supportive" of each other.
Well - besides that - what's going on?
March 14th, 2023 at 10:51 AM ^
If there is one position we have a case for NIL... they can probably share the $ Corum got to come back this year.
March 14th, 2023 at 11:21 AM ^
Considering that we may desperately want JJ to return after 23, we might want to allocate some NIL funds for that.
March 14th, 2023 at 11:56 AM ^
LOL!! My money says McCarthy will be a top 10 pick next year.
It's a deep QB class next year, but I'd love for McCarthy to be a top10 pick. That would mean we had an amazing season.
By that logic Jett getting drafted would mean we had an A-Maize-ing hoops season then?!
Just maybe a slight difference between the NFL draft and the NBA draft.
Nothing. Leave our shortcomings alone.
CFB Risk Championship already paying dividends...

Does 247 manually update cool-warm-hot interest for recruits for each school? I would think it would be a formula based on crystal balls/time...
Really annoying when recruits are listed as "cool" for all schools so they just list alphabetically.

Next time say a Cb to Michigan. I thought you meant a target is CBed to Texas and I had to look at the profile.
His film shows a great OL leaving him clean.
March 14th, 2023 at 10:56 AM ^
Agreed. Misleading as hell.
March 14th, 2023 at 11:02 AM ^
It is a pretty excellent OP but I do agree with this. Had to click the link to make sure.
March 14th, 2023 at 11:22 AM ^
Yeah. My first reaction was that this is good news for Longhorn Nation. I am, of course, thrilled to find out otherwise!
March 14th, 2023 at 10:50 AM ^
i believe that's a big deal.
ill also believe he's here, when.. he's here.
March 14th, 2023 at 11:09 AM ^
Also check out an old thread of RB Stewart its good film. While film and intangibles can be wrong, many here including me weren't enthused with Hokes Derrick Green film at all, he would get taken down with a pinky or tripped on a blade of grass time and time again. Stewart shows superb north south ability, and his ypc I predict will be rather high, like Haskins was, but instead for his slipperiness.
March 14th, 2023 at 11:20 AM ^
I admittedly know little about this RB cycle at this point, but from what I heard Tatum was one of the top targets.
I do recall my supreme disappointment with Derrick Green... sigh... that guy. But if Stewart is what you say he is, why not both!!!
March 14th, 2023 at 11:40 AM ^
Derrick Green was a top 3 RB recruit in nation, and small group of us here were wondering if the plan was for him to be a LB, because he had the physique but just didn't have the intangibles to be a RB. was physically imposing but never had I seen anyone go down so easily. I'd be rewinding the tape to see what brought him down time and time again and it was ghosts and finger tackles.
March 14th, 2023 at 11:45 AM ^
I was the OP of that thread and by no means was I saying that Stewart should be our #1 target. I was more saying he could be a solid fallback option. Taylor Tatum and Jordan Marshall should be our top targets. Marshall is my favorite RB recruit because I love his between the tackles running ability, his ability to make defenders miss, and I think he fits better into what we usually ask of our RBs. Tatum is more of a one cut back, but has better top end speed and is a better receiver than Marshall. Both would be huge gets
I agree 100% with your assessment here-including Marshall being a slight favorite. Both of these players are fine young men but Jordan is special and has "Michigan" written all over him. There is a youtube video interview of Marshall by John McCallister that paints a remarkable picture of this outstanding young man. I believe he is a strong Michigan lean and even subtly hints this in the interview-as he makes a special point of noting that he and Ted Hammonds are very good friends.
The Derrick Green recruitment was interesting when looking back. I believe Ezekiel Elliot was part of that class, and we thought we really out-recruited OSU on that one. Meyer didn't really recruit Green hard and we thought he was stupid for doing so and picking Elliot over Green.
[in my best Hoke voice]: well
March 14th, 2023 at 10:51 AM ^
Just to clarify, it's a crystal ball in favor of Michigan. That was implied but not included.
March 14th, 2023 at 10:53 AM ^
Getting Tatum and/or Marshall is just as key to this class as bringing in Jadyn Davis. A team as run heavy as ours needs elite backs and after Corum/Edwards we don't really have anything close to a sure thing. Cabana is an intriguing back, but we don't know if he's a workhorse back yet
March 14th, 2023 at 11:45 AM ^
Stewart is the RB I want.
Not saying your wrong - interested in why that is your opinion though.
March 14th, 2023 at 10:53 AM ^
If you play: RB, OL or TE I for the life of me can not figure out how Michigan wouldn't be in your list of schools every time. Since Harbaugh arrival it has been very very very good!
Come on down!
BlueCE posed a link to an article from On3 last night talking about Michigan leading for Ohio top100 RB Jordan Marshall. Here's the money quote, IMO
“It’s cool, especially when Michigan could be considered the new RBU,”
We could very well be RBU, OLU, and TEU. It's a great position to be in.
March 14th, 2023 at 11:00 AM ^
Would be a huge pickup by Hart and the team; hopefully it happens.
March 14th, 2023 at 11:13 AM ^
Need to put on absolute full court press and make him, alongside Davis, the top priority for this cycle.
Corum is gone after next season. Donovan Edwards is almost certainly gone as well. Maybe Stokes can progress and Cabana can carve out a good role, but you don't have a definitive heir on the roster right now that you can look to and say "THAT'S THE GUY." Tatum could very well be that guy, and Michigan desperately needs an influx of talent in time for the 2024 season. That team's roster, especially the offensive side of the ball, could look very, very different from how it does at the start of next season.
If you're a top OL or RB recruit right now, you should at least be giving Michigan a good, long look. If you're a RB, you can feel confident that Harbaugh is going to want to get the ball in your hand at least 15-20x/game.

crystal ball to Michigan, i assume....
March 14th, 2023 at 11:46 AM ^
I wonder if Partridge is involved here.
NO. He is not. I don’t get posters here. All of a sudden every recruit will be a product of CP even though this dude has never talked to CP in his life.
March 14th, 2023 at 11:26 AM ^
any relation to Ray 'Voodoo" Tatum from Friday Night Lights?
March 14th, 2023 at 12:29 PM ^
With a name like that he has to be good. Should be a boxer.
March 14th, 2023 at 12:33 PM ^
Blake Corum but ... from Texas?
March 14th, 2023 at 12:36 PM ^
To be clear since you never stated it outright, the CB was indeed for us. Wasn't 100% if you meant for us for Texas just by the wording.
Top 50 recruit to replace our Heisman caliber RB and 1st round caliber backup? Yes please.
Keep the fast RB’s coming
They're like fast RBs, but fast.
