Taco Charlton cut from Dallas
Update: Taco is being released https://t.co/hpMJznVKXE
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) September 18, 2019
Taco has never lived up to the 1st round pick and he was a healthy inactive this season
September 18th, 2019 at 4:03 PM ^
Noooo!
September 18th, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
Dallas should've done this yesterday. Taco Tuesday
September 18th, 2019 at 8:40 PM ^
Nah, don’t want to get cut, and then sued by Lebron on the same day...
September 18th, 2019 at 4:05 PM ^
My Raiders could use a DE maybe he could resurrect his career with us
September 18th, 2019 at 4:13 PM ^
*Your* Raiders?!? *My* Raiders... After watching the thing that Patrick Mahomes did to them in the second quarter, I think we need Charles Woodson in his best Raiders form, Greg Townsend, and Eddie Anderson on defense, and Rich Gannon NOT throwing interceptions on offense. We could certainly give Taco a shot, too, though. Wish we would've gone after Winovich instead of Trayvon Mullen. Chase could've probably started in Oakland...
September 18th, 2019 at 5:41 PM ^
The fact that neither of you said Rrrrrraiders, means their my raiders
September 19th, 2019 at 7:29 PM ^
They're***
September 18th, 2019 at 5:53 PM ^
I honestly think they played well with the exception of that 1 quarter...Yes the secondary got torched but we look a whole lot better than last year
September 18th, 2019 at 7:47 PM ^
Mahommes does that to everybody he’s the best young QB I’ve ever seen. The Raiders will be better than last year and they should sign jaylen Ramsey bc they have the ammo to do so
September 19th, 2019 at 12:57 PM ^
It's too bad your young safety got hurt making that fantastic play in week one. That kid looked like a future all pro.
September 18th, 2019 at 4:44 PM ^
So, would you say then, that the Raiders are in play?
September 18th, 2019 at 5:09 PM ^
This comment is underrated
September 18th, 2019 at 4:08 PM ^
Go get him, Colts.
September 18th, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
He'll probably end up on the Patriots and finish the season with 14 sacks.
September 18th, 2019 at 4:20 PM ^
That would be fantastic......
I wonder if his college coach knows anyone he can all a favor on? maybe he goes to Baltimore.
September 18th, 2019 at 4:25 PM ^
Nice thought, but I don't think professional coaches are in the habit of granting roster spots as a favor. It's not like he can be a walk-on and not count against the scholarship limit.
September 18th, 2019 at 7:03 PM ^
You probably thought that about college coaches and running back coaching spots too though...
September 18th, 2019 at 8:57 PM ^
Didnt John Harbaugh draft Willie Henry and Chris Wormley?
September 18th, 2019 at 7:41 PM ^
Would love to see Taco in a Patriots uniform. Can't stand the Cowboys ?
September 18th, 2019 at 9:55 PM ^
This was my thought as well. It would be a total Belichick move to pick him up and make an effective role player out of him.
September 19th, 2019 at 12:59 PM ^
Next to Kyle Van Noy. Shakes fist and screams obscenities.
September 18th, 2019 at 4:36 PM ^
Lions should get rid of the wasted roster spot in Jamal Agnew and have him rotate in at DE.
September 18th, 2019 at 5:07 PM ^
I can’t remember the last time a former 1st round pick was straight-up released for non-injury reason before the end of their rookie contract.
I figured most teams would at least stick it out and hope while the contract is still relatively cheap.
September 18th, 2019 at 5:29 PM ^
I believe Greg Robinson, LT out of Auburn, originally drafted 2nd overall was released by the Rams after just 2 seasons. The Lions picked him up for one season while Taylor Decker was coming back from injury and he is the current starting LT for the Browns.
Fun fact: the Browns actually released him before week 1 and resigned him for cap reasons and to provide a temporary roster spot for one of their other players currently on IR. Then he kicked a Tennessee Titan in the face and got ejected in the first game! LOL
September 18th, 2019 at 6:55 PM ^
So you’re saying that he’s another good fit for the Raiders?
September 18th, 2019 at 7:25 PM ^
The Rams traded Greg Robinson to the Lions for a 6th round pick.
In all likelihood, if the Lions hadn’t offered that pick, the Rams would have released him.
September 18th, 2019 at 8:44 PM ^
Yes you're right. Even if they would have released him soon after failing to trade him it still makes my initial comment false.
September 18th, 2019 at 6:05 PM ^
Happens a lot with 2nd rounders, but yeah it seems like teams can usually get a 5-7 round pick for a disappointing 1st round pick if they decide to move on
Aaron Maybin is a 1st rounder that got cut pretty quick.
September 18th, 2019 at 5:13 PM ^
Come play for the Eagles Taco.
September 18th, 2019 at 5:21 PM ^
By all accounts, this was a system issue, not a productivity issue.
Marinelli knows what's best for Dallas of course, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Taco take off in a new scheme.
September 18th, 2019 at 6:20 PM ^
I am surprised by this.
September 18th, 2019 at 6:47 PM ^
Cowboy fans seem to point that it is a “work ethics” and development issue. He hasn’t really develop much in his repertoire besides his spin move, and nearly every OT knew that’s all they had to prepare for when matched with Taco.
September 18th, 2019 at 10:24 PM ^
Not only that but Cowboys think he's pretty soft aka lack toughness
September 19th, 2019 at 1:02 PM ^
So the Cowboys prefer hard tacos? They're the superior option IMO
September 19th, 2019 at 2:08 AM ^
Bingo. My man Taco will find a better fit.
September 18th, 2019 at 5:38 PM ^
Damn, they couldn’t even get a day 3 draft pick for him.
September 18th, 2019 at 5:57 PM ^
Just to be clear, he asked for his release and the Cowboys agreed so he could find his own new team.
September 18th, 2019 at 6:25 PM ^
Yeah, I’m sure Dallas just wrote him a $2mil check and said go wherever you want.
Thats not how it works.
September 18th, 2019 at 5:59 PM ^
I would love to see Taco prove the Cowboys wrong. As long as it's not for the Bears or Vikings.
September 18th, 2019 at 6:29 PM ^
Or Packers*
September 18th, 2019 at 6:21 PM ^
This seems like a low risk high reward type situation here. Still has a lot of talent and physical ability, wont cost very much, could be driven coming off being inactive and cut from his former team.
Due to all these positive factors the Lions definitely wont even take a look.
September 18th, 2019 at 7:12 PM ^
After a trade for Jalen Ramsey.
September 18th, 2019 at 7:22 PM ^
If you listen to the radio and some of the fans around Detroit, they are far too deep into trying to get Jalen Ramsey, which is another thing the Lions wouldn't do for similar reasons.
September 19th, 2019 at 12:15 PM ^
Doesn't fit the mold of what the lions want for their current scheme.
September 18th, 2019 at 7:11 PM ^
Seahawks could use him (Ziggy Ansah is just dickin around)
September 18th, 2019 at 8:12 PM ^
That sucks. You hate to see a NFL bust from Michigan. I wonder what’s preventing him from reaching his full potential
September 18th, 2019 at 8:23 PM ^
Talent
September 18th, 2019 at 8:18 PM ^
Charlton said all he wanted was a fair chance. To which a DFW sports analyst said, "Taco, tomorrow when you shave, have that discussion with the man in the mirror."
September 18th, 2019 at 8:43 PM ^
The #Cowboys have cut 2017 1st round pick from #Michigan Taco Charlton. I asked a person in the organization why didn't it work out. The response I got was "soft". Charlton's time in Dallas ends with him being called a soft taco. No lie. @BlueStarBlog

Watch the cheating ass patriots pick him up
