Spring Game Visitors

Submitted by Magnus on April 19th, 2024 at 12:35 PM

Well, it's that time of year again: the spring game.

Michigan will have a nationally televised spring game tomorrow, and a decent group of recruits is expected to be in town for the event (LINK).

Some of the highlight players are 2025 WR Derek Meadows (a top-100 player), 2026 RB Savion Hiter (the #1 RB in his class), and a borderline 5-star DL in the 2025 class in Nathaniel Marshall (#33 in the 247 Composite).

Also, some younger brothers of Michigan players will be in attendance, such as 2025 WR Quinn Morris (brother of Tyler) and 2026 ATH Luke Wafle (brother of Owen).

Savion Hiter for this year’s “you 30 bro” award. Also for the  “be VERY careful typing his name” award

There are 4 horrifically evil individuals that were actually able to separate themselves above the others..

Of course, Hitler.

Mao is responsible for killing 40 to 100 million of his own people and encouraged horrific public torture. (It is hard to know how many of their people totalitarian  governments killed because they are in complete control of all communication and record keeping.) There is some evidence that he enjoyed watching torture and may even have designed new torture methods.

Stalin is probably responsible for the deaths of 6 to 40 million  people in Russian. (See comments in Mao regarding the difficulty of obtaining accurate estimates involving totalitarian governments). Many more in Eastern Europe.

Pol Pot can't match the raw numbers of the other top 4 but earns his place by the  percentage he achieved. After taking power he ordered about about a quarter (possibly more) of Cambodia's population to be taken and killed.  Many were also tortured and raped.

If we are going to include percentages, then Ante Pavelić and the NDH are probably just right behind Pol Pot.

I guess I'd consider Hitler more evil than Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot because he tried to destroy an entire group (i.e., genocide). And he damn near succeeded, killing 2/3 of the prewar Jewish population. Not because he saw them as a threat to his power, but because he considered them inferior. That's just me, though. 🤷‍♂️

Edit: Sorry. I don't want to derail this thread and won't add any further comments. Thanks, Magnus, for posting it. I always appreciate these updates.

Edit 2: Sorry, I realized I was a bit bitchy in the 1st paragraph, so I edited it.

After the offense we have had the past few years, such as running ball 31 or 32 straight times vs PSU, one would think the top rbs would want to play here.  Let's hope it's the start of it.

Savion Hiter…..whooo boy on the list of last names to have, that’s a toughie.

Not his fault of course. I’m sure he’s a great kid. But still, one letter away form just being the full on worst name ever conceived in human history.

Hello son would you care to graduate early and roll this second? You could be on the 2 deep for this spring game if you say yes

I don't usually pay attention to recruits visiting for the spring game, but that list seems really small?   I hope there are more that are not listed.
