Denegal just doesn’t look ready to run an offense, even with the failed coverage completion.

So cool seeing Mike and Blake again

We need a good portal QB very badly. These qbs won’t get it done. I don’t think sherrone will wanna rock the boat this early tho so Orji it is. If that’s the case, get some damn portal WRs for him

I like that it's an actual football game with real game situations . . . penalties, clock management, field goal decisions, etc. It's a different environment when you are under live fire. That is part of the game too.

I thought the D would play better but nice to see the offense make some plays against our tough D.

Super impressed with Evan Link on the Maize FG drive. Stood up to power from D Moore and picked up an edge blitz off the right, got a piece of 2 guys on the ground after he flipped to the left side.
Good stuff.
Got his inexperience preyed upon for a hold when he got crossed up by a twist. Overall good first half considering the Blue edges and playing both left and right.

I hope to see more of Waren. His decisions look good and quick.
97 sure looks the part....
Not sure about “97”. Wasn’t there another Michigan player who wore that number - and according to the intelligent, knowledgeable contributors at 11W and RCMB - was over-rated and a guaranteed wash out in the NFL? Oh yeah.. I think his name was Aidan Hutchinson.
I like the culture, and expect some great things to happen this year! But we really need someone to step up as a leader on offense and I think we need to hit the portal hard. WR(starters/depth), OL(starters/depth), and at least look at a QB.
You do realize three OL starters are out don’t you?
Hinton started. He got bent backwards and hasn’t returned.
Going to be hard to keep the culture if you get too many people in the portal. Need some more pieces at WR sure since the depth is not good.
It’s unusual that a program that just won the National Championship wouldn’t have an obvious heir apparent at the most important position on the field, and nothing about this spring game is going to erase the huge question mark hanging over the 2024 team. Naming a starter is going to be a tough decision and a roll of the dice.
So what do you guys think about the “Michigan Method”? I want to see two QBs and expect Orgi will be taking the largest portion of snaps. My only curiosity is the #2 guy. I thinks its between Denegal and Warren.
I feel like a 2 QB approach is admitting that we don't have a true #1
Not when one of them looks like Tyrone Wheatley. Orji has to play whether hes the starter or not bc hes such a wild change of pace.
Tuttle & Orji will be the guys IMO. And Warren could easily come off the bench & play well. I think we're good at QB. Need 1-2 receivers in a bad way.
I have a feeling its a 2 horse race between Orji and Davis, but Orji will play even if he loses, while if Davis loses he redshirts.
Sherrone is too technical. Harbaugh gave a directed speech that targeted the bullshit in cfb. Harbaugh has a “no-lose” mentality, which took us to NC. Sherrone? He has an “if we lose, we will continue to build”, mentality. Just beat osu
What the fuck are you talking about?
The Ohio State spring game was 7 on 7 drills prancing around in the sunshine.
The Michigan spring game is a real football game with real game situations in ugly football weather.
There really is a culture difference and a toughness difference between the two programs, by design. You don't just become tough by saying you are tough at gametime in the fall. It starts in the spring and continues every day.
I'm glad the real spring game is back. Many years it was a lame scrimmage.
Really hoping someone does a full game upload on YouTube. Only drawback of fully cutting cable off during the offseason is missing the spring game.
The game is on network tv
We shut off all our cable after the Super Bowl. We’ve still got Hulu, Prime and Netflix, but until football season comes back it’s not worth paying the $72/month for YouTube tv.
Buy an HD antenna.
This is free on the airwaves. Get a 20 dollar antenna and watch the networks for free all day every day forever and ever.
Have to say, I wasn't really thinking about the ring(s) the team earned last year. Was that a box set they just showed for them? Undefeated B1G season champs, BTC champs, Rose Bowl Champs and National Champs - that's a very nice legacy to recognize in the rings!
Looks like QB battle early will be Orji vs Warren. Though when Tuttle comes back he will make a run this summer. I still think if there is a good QB in the portal, Michigan should grab him.
Great to see that Fox is in season form with the amount of commercials!!!!
I follow our special teams players pretty closely. My son was an all state kicker a few years ago and is playing at a small D1. Samaha is not going to cut it as our kicker. I'm sorry to say that but he's not an accurate an kicker, is not quick to the ball and being a lefty kicker is not ideal for a bunch of reasons that are highly debatable. I hope they have someone from the Portal because we'll need it. Tommy is a serviceable kickoff and punt guy with a strong leg in both capacities but has shanks more than most kickers or punters you will see at this level. Special teams will be a big question in my mind until I see otherwise.
Orji throws a bit sidearm, which I don’t think helps with accuracy.
Faith.. Family.. Football… the culture. Go Blue!
Koumba is a physical specimen with some hands
Mullings is still a downhill bruiser
Below is how I’m looking at it as we sit today. Some of this is of course a guess and could change. My captain obvious statement is we need more at WR and I don’t really know what to think about QB.
Too optimistic or too pessimistic?
DEFENSE:
D line: (int and ext) A+
LB: A
Corner: A
Safety: B
OFFENSE
Oline (including TE): B+
RB: A-
WR: C-
QB: C
Definitely not an INT, but man, Aymeric Koumba is the definition of a physical specimen. If he takes coaching well he’s going to be a monster.
Donegal doesn’t appear to be the guy.
INT yes!!! Offense gets ball back, yes!!!
I'm conflicted!
Qb order is taking shape:
Orji
Warren
Denegal
Davis
With
Tuttle is wild card.
King Tuttle
You can’t tell anything from this game.
QB decisions stand out. A simple throw away or check down goes a long way for capability of them to lead this offense.
If you can't tell anything from the game, why do it?
Blue team defense is taking over
