We need a good portal QB very badly. These qbs won’t get it done. I don’t think sherrone will wanna rock the boat this early tho so Orji it is. If that’s the case, get some damn portal WRs for him

I like that it's an actual football game with real game situations . . . penalties, clock management, field goal decisions, etc.  It's a different environment when you are under live fire.  That is part of the game too.

Super impressed with Evan Link on the Maize FG drive.  Stood up to power from D Moore and picked up an edge blitz off the right, got a piece of 2 guys on the ground after he flipped to the left side.

Good stuff.

I like the culture, and expect some great things to happen this year!    But we really need someone to step up as a leader on offense and I think we need to hit the portal hard.  WR(starters/depth), OL(starters/depth), and at least look at a QB.

It’s unusual that a program that just won the National Championship wouldn’t have an obvious heir apparent at the most important position on the field, and nothing about this spring game is going to erase the huge question mark hanging over the 2024 team. Naming a starter is going to be a tough decision and a roll of the dice.

So what do you guys think about the “Michigan Method”? I want to see two QBs and expect Orgi will be taking the largest portion of snaps. My only curiosity is the #2 guy.  I thinks its between Denegal and Warren.

Sherrone is too technical.  Harbaugh gave a directed speech that targeted the bullshit in cfb.  Harbaugh has a “no-lose” mentality, which took us to NC.  Sherrone? He has an “if we lose, we will continue to build”, mentality.  Just beat osu

The Ohio State spring game was 7 on 7 drills prancing around in the sunshine.

The Michigan spring game is a real football game with real game situations in ugly football weather.

There really is a culture difference and a toughness difference between the two programs, by design.  You don't just become tough by saying you are tough at gametime in the fall.  It starts in the spring and continues every day.

Have to say, I wasn't really thinking about the ring(s) the team earned last year.  Was that a box set they just showed for them?  Undefeated B1G season champs, BTC champs, Rose Bowl Champs and National Champs - that's a very nice legacy to recognize in the rings!

Looks like QB battle early will be Orji vs Warren. Though when Tuttle comes back he will make a run this summer. I still think if there is a good QB in the portal, Michigan should grab him.

I follow our special teams players pretty closely. My son was an all state kicker a few years ago and is playing at a small D1.  Samaha is not going to cut it as our kicker.  I'm sorry to say that but he's not an accurate an kicker, is not quick to the ball and being a lefty kicker is not ideal for a bunch of reasons that are highly debatable.  I hope they have someone from the Portal because we'll need it. Tommy is a serviceable kickoff and punt guy with a strong leg in both capacities but has shanks more than most kickers or punters you will see at this level.    Special teams will be a big question in my mind until I see otherwise.

Below is how I’m looking at it as we sit today. Some of this is of course a guess and could change. My captain obvious statement is we need more at WR and I don’t really know what to think about QB.

Too optimistic or too pessimistic?

DEFENSE:

D line: (int and ext) A+
LB: A
Corner: A
Safety: B

OFFENSE

Oline (including TE): B+
RB: A-
WR: C-
QB: C

Definitely not an INT, but man, Aymeric Koumba is the definition of a physical specimen. If he takes coaching well he’s going to be a monster.
