Anyone who thinks we’re still not in for a dogfight in November is only fooling themselves. They looked like dogshit in September the year they beat OSU, won the Big Ten and the Rose Bowl. Barely beat Western and lost an ugly game to ND a week or two later, but we all know how the rest of their season went.
This is very much typical Sparty. They look awful early on, but I fully expect them to round to form and be an incredibly tough out when we play them.

Michigan State's defense is by far the best unit in that game. Michigan State's offense is by far the worst unit in that game. Michigan's got a better field goal kicker.
The difference is Shea Patterson fumbling the football. His 3 fumbles will give Sparty good field position, which will allow Sparty to pull out a close game.

MSU has little depth and few seniors. I am not sure how good is Lewerke. If they are banged up latter this season their season will most likely end poorly. They are not as deep this year as some years.
