No jinx here.
January 28th, 2021 at 8:51 PM ^
Even if they did I put down a $1 for Sparty and +265 moneyline at half. It's a wasted dollar I'll be happy to lose!
January 28th, 2021 at 11:36 PM ^
do the online books really let you bet $1?
January 29th, 2021 at 10:52 AM ^
Yes, pretty sure you can even bet less than that on most of them. I had like $.50 left in an account once and placed a bet with that.
January 28th, 2021 at 9:04 PM ^
Did they slap the floor?
January 29th, 2021 at 5:38 AM ^
AJ Hoggard did a floor slap, but none of his teammates joined him...does that count??
January 28th, 2021 at 8:45 PM ^
Dude! Jinxing it!
just kidding. No way MSU comes back from this. They played like total ass.
Besides the lol’ing we can do at MSU, they are an interesting case study of what could happen to us after a 2 week break. We need to be vigilant about getting stale.
January 28th, 2021 at 9:12 PM ^
They have been about this bad all season. I don't really think a COVID break had anything to do with this type of performance. However, that does not mean that you are wrong about UM taking care of themselves and not getting stale
January 28th, 2021 at 9:51 PM ^
They haven't been THIS damn bad. If they play any worse, they're going to find peach baskets instead of hoops at each end of the court.
January 28th, 2021 at 10:21 PM ^
And Izzo will step aside for James Naismith.
January 28th, 2021 at 11:41 PM ^
A couple current players look they would have fared better back in those days. Loyer, Izzo Jr and Hoiberg Jr give hope to unathletic dudes like me.
I know the walk-on spots don't matter much, but its crazy they waste a roster spot on Steven Izzo, who played under 5 mins a game his senior year of hs.
Also, does Langford have regrets? I know injuries have been hard on him, but Izzo doesn't seem to have helped his development much.

Knock on wood evil spirits stay away
January 28th, 2021 at 8:46 PM ^
I’m sure they will play great against us but as of right now they suck.
January 28th, 2021 at 9:25 PM ^
This sparty team doesn’t do ‘playing great’.
2-5 in the B1G has them squarely in 12th place, behind northwestern
January 28th, 2021 at 9:36 PM ^
So, what is that in the Tournament? Maybe a 3 seed in bracket that won’t have them play Dooook until the championship game?
January 29th, 2021 at 10:00 AM ^
Yup, no doubt. And while that doooooook team is stacked with NBA potential, pay no attention to the fact that they were barely surviving in the tournament to that point. We should pretend they're the second-coming of UCLA so that msu win can be even more special.
January 29th, 2021 at 11:19 AM ^
Honestly, at this rate Sparty is home watching in late March. Don't think there will be an NIT for them.
January 29th, 2021 at 6:49 AM ^
Since NW beat them by 15pts that seems right.
January 29th, 2021 at 11:51 AM ^
I said the exact same thing while watching them last night. When we see them, they will have weird guys hitting 3's.
January 28th, 2021 at 8:47 PM ^
I’m not saying anything because the results of these teams coming off of covid breaks are not very good across the college basketball landscape. I’m a little worried about what Michigan will look like when they get to play again and the teams they are likely to be facing at that time. With that said, Sparty isn’t that good this year anyway.
January 28th, 2021 at 9:01 PM ^
While we may not play great coming out of a shutdown, we at least know our identity. So long term, we should recover. But MSU didn’t have an identity before their break, and could only do individual and small group workouts for much of it. Not the way to get out of a slump or figure out what your team is about .
January 28th, 2021 at 9:04 PM ^
I know we were at least practicing, but coming off our near 2 week break between Penn St and Maryland we began playing our best basketball after that break.
January 28th, 2021 at 8:49 PM ^
Here's a case study on how to make an OP: I was about to post this but opened a new page quick to see if anyone else thought to make one. Boom,
So Sparty is getting spanked at the RAC. They've had a long lay off. Now, they are seemingly not as good as us this year however this doesn't make for a confident Michigan fan leading into what will be a two week layoff-matchup against a top-20 Illinois squad.
Anyway, what else is up tonight gents and ladies?! Drinks? Smokes? Edibles?
How about that stock market? Glad I didn't get into Robinhood because I'd be irate with them/that right about now.
January 28th, 2021 at 8:57 PM ^
Fortunately for Sparty, the NCAA committee has such lust for Izzo that they’ll completely ignore this game out of respect for their two week break. They’ll also continue to get credit for that Duke win despite the fact they’re unranked.
The life of Izzo. His team could have 15 losses and he’d still get a #4 seed.
January 29th, 2021 at 1:58 AM ^
Lust for Izzo?
I shudder at the thought.
January 28th, 2021 at 11:11 PM ^
As long as the Fed keep pumping money into this economy the bull will run. Also, by summer things will be opening up more as many more get vaccinated. 2022 may see the big bear appear. We are way over due for a true bear market. The March dip was just a pandemic selloff.
January 28th, 2021 at 8:51 PM ^
Rutgers = Reddit
MSU = Hedge funds
January 28th, 2021 at 9:27 PM ^
I always knew hedge funds were made up of weird guys.
January 28th, 2021 at 9:53 PM ^
Yeah, but MSU doesn't have an old man on TV screaming about how .......oh, wait.....never mind.
January 28th, 2021 at 11:41 PM ^
NCAA = SEC
January 28th, 2021 at 8:52 PM ^
I dont think Sparty will even get to 40 tonight.
January 28th, 2021 at 8:55 PM ^
37 yikes
January 28th, 2021 at 8:55 PM ^
Correctomundo
January 28th, 2021 at 8:56 PM ^
[Narrator:] Sparty did not reach 40 points. Rutgers won 67-37.
January 28th, 2021 at 9:40 PM ^
I just imagined this comment being read in Morgan Freeman's voice. And it sounded glorious.
January 28th, 2021 at 11:40 PM ^
You reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally hate to see it b
January 28th, 2021 at 8:54 PM ^
Does Tom Izzo have a son that is even shorter than him? And playing college basketball at MSU? Wow!
January 28th, 2021 at 8:55 PM ^
Lol 37 points in an entire game
January 28th, 2021 at 11:44 PM ^
Michigan is averaging more than that in a half.
January 29th, 2021 at 1:56 AM ^
I hope we get to play them and are up by 50 and we throw a half court alley oop with under a minute left in the game. I won’t forget what a fucking piece of shit Izzo is and what his teams were like when we sucked and neither should anyone else
January 28th, 2021 at 8:55 PM ^
67-37!
MSU managed 1/5 free throws, 4/21 from 3 and 16/56 from the field.
Rutgers crushed MSU in every category: FG%, FT%, 3 pt%. rebounds, assists, steals, blocks
MSU did pull ahead with turnovers, 21-12
January 28th, 2021 at 8:56 PM ^
Hate to see it...
January 28th, 2021 at 8:56 PM ^
State had more turnovers than field goals.
January 28th, 2021 at 9:55 PM ^
That's a Basketball Rutger, correct?
January 28th, 2021 at 10:35 PM ^
The Rutgers football team scored enough against MSU this season to beat their basketball team tonight. 38 - 37.
January 28th, 2021 at 8:57 PM ^
Sparty has apparently mastered the art of small ball. They have the three smallest guards in the league, maybe the country.
Loyer, Hoiberg, and Little Izzo.
January 28th, 2021 at 9:06 PM ^
I thought it was kinda entertaining at the end of the game watching 8 basketball players share the court with two hobbits.
January 29th, 2021 at 3:03 PM ^
Izzo's son may not be big or fast or a good shooter but,....actually, that's all.
January 28th, 2021 at 8:58 PM ^
Mike Hart says hello.
