Lived there summer of ‘90, then ‘91-93, back visiting family a lot since. Besides obvious, i.e. traffic, expense, smog, fires, etc., living in LA is no joy.

City is huge, hard to get around because traffic is so inconsistent, so big it’s hard to leave town, and there is no sense of community as it’s so disparate.

Add in the Rose Bowl is so far off campus that it’s a hassle to get there, seldom sold out, that the game day experience is nothing special for UCLA.

I always feel empty in LA, façade is pretty, but it’s hard to find substance.

I would expect Speight to transfer to a location closer to home (he's from Richmond), so probably somewhere on the east coast (maybe even UVA).

As for Mizzou, they have a big-time QB in Drew Lock who is weighing whether or not to enter the NFL Draft after the Texas Bowl.  If he returns, Jedd Fisch is going to be a very, very happy man.

Maybe someone can clarify this for me, but I was under the impression that a Grad Transfer had to be to an institution that offers a Grad program that the current institution does NOT offer? Any idea if this is true? I had this discussion with someone when discussing Malik Zaire, and that is when I was informed of this rule.

Speight wants to play. I thought D Green would transfer closer to RVA too and he ended up at TCU. At this point, I think Mizzou is probably the favorite to land Speight. Opportunity to start in a high level league for the guy he performed really well under

a) Speight didn't perform "really well." He was just so-so.

b) As the poster said above, Missouri potentially has a returning starter who threw 43 touchdowns.

c) Speight wants to enroll at his new school in January, so he needs to decide now instead of waiting for all kinds of NFL declarations, including perhaps Missouri's Drew Lock.

As we all should know by now, this is a team game. Being 12-3 as a starter doesn't mean a whole lot. What's Karan Higdon's record as a starter? How about Mike McCray's? Those guys contributed to wins, too.

Also, Speight was 9-3 as a starter under Jedd Fisch.

Even if we did what some want around here and limited discussion on coaches and coaching to current coaches, it would never, ever happen to their satisfaction because too many of us are of the mindset - and I believe justly so - that if you've crossed paths with Ann Arbor, you're part of Michigan's collective history and dialogue.

UCLA hasn't been much of anything. It had some moments but since Donahue left, every HC has had trouble even with a lot of talent. It was best for Fisch to get the heck out of Westwood.

Doubtful,

Most of UCLA's class has already decommitted, those who are available for poaching are already out there and frankly, outside of Thompson-Robinson, Addison, Phillips and Cota(all either relatively recent or solid commits), there's no-one in the class on the offensive side who would really be of interest to Michigan.

Beyond that, it's been obvious for awhile that Fisch wasn't going to be retained.
