Some people on third base think they hit a triple...

Hadn't seen it posted in five pages, but may have missed it.

Harbaugh in his post game interview said "some people on third base think they hit a triple," in obvious reference to the situation Day inherited.

As my three-time big ten champion father said, "Day can shove that one up his ass and swivel on it!"

11w mouthbreathers are so stupid...yes we should be extra nice to you when we win cause you might be extra mean if we lose next year.

OSU is the definition of classless...we should have sung Sweet Caroline to Ryan Day after the game!

I love that we live in their heads 24/7.  You know the biggest TV market for Michigan FB games?  Columbus!

not much point in making these kind of comments as it's just bulletin board material and doesn't serve any purpose for your side.... it's probably a wash though, not like either side has more or less motivation to win The Game and losing when your rival only completes 4 passes in the second half is going to stick in your head as a coach for a long time....hope Harbaugh and the staff get grounded quickly though, Iowa's a top 25 team, doesn't care about the rivalry and always seems to have something extra when they play UM

exactly, he (edit: Day) made a stupid, pointless comment that didn't help anyone, his own team included and just fired up the opposition more...like I said, I think these things are a wash because they matter very little in what happens on the field, which is decided by leaders like Hutchinson and Haskins along with the gameplanning that occurs away from the press box chatter, but I don't see what purpose they serve....

Do you think OSU's players are about to get super fired up over Harbaugh pointing out that Day didn't build a Death Star, he inherited one? lol, "damn that mean Jim Harbaugh for pointing out our stacked, 5* laden roster!"

Hell, a lot of players on that roster were recruited by Urban Meyer, and the smart ones - if there are any - should already know how much easier their coaches have it. All they have to do is look at how each one of their superstar video game numbers Heisman contender QBs has fared in the relative talent parity of the NFL.

Or their "GOAT" former coach, for that matter.

We have to be very clear about what was said.  He NEVER said some people were "born" on third base, he said some people on third base...

We need to be very clear about that.

Personally I like taking the high road and not giving opponents bulletin board material. However I have two points:

1) Harbaugh’s comment is 100% true about Day and everyone knows it which is why 11w is mad

2) This is the Harbaugh we need. The “what’s your deal” Harbaugh who is a bit of a jerk but who wins. Harbaugh needs his edge so let’s roll with it, if OSU is offended so what?

For a couple of years I've been thinking the toned-down Harbaugh lost his edge.  I loved watching him flip the F out demanding a penalty on the guy who ripped Wilson's helmet off.  That's the Harbaugh we need.  He doesn't need to rain down the thunder every time he wants a holding penalty or anything, but Harbaugh is a better coach when he's a little off the deep end.

So how did Day start on third base? Because the Buckeye program is a machine with Tressel having moved it to 2nd and Urban moved it to 3rd. Seems like Harbaugh was giving a compliment to Urban and the whole OSU program, while poking Day,

If a Buckeye coach had said it towards Harbaugh, Michigan fans would debate for 5+ years if it was more a compliment to UM or an insult to Harbaugh.

Once again, it isn't possible for Michigan to give OSU bulletin board material. We are their bulletin board, 24/7/365. It's not possible for them to hate us any more than they do. We might as well have some fun with it, and that's what Jim did.

Michigan teams have often been soft as ten-ply. I like this edgy version better. They said what they were preparing for. They clearly prepared. They cashed in on Saturday. And Jim turned Day's "hang a hundred" comment back on him. It was perfect.

Bravo, Jim. On to Iowa.

This has been discussed but let's discuss it again by all means.

It is wonderful shade because it doesn't directly point at anything while pointing at everything, esp. Day.

You know, suddenly the guy who was the genius looked like a guy in charge of 5-star tackles who couldn't block, of 5-star defenders who couldn't tackle, and a highly 1-dimensional offense.

Should be an interesting few years...

I love this version of Harbaugh. It was that fire that he first came in here with, snarling and running down the sidelines. He has toned these down and then molded all of that into his players. They play with a chip and a purpose and I love it. The moment never seems to big for them. Jump around going on, hell let’s embrace it and join in. I love it! I hope Harbaugh keeps this edge he has about him. Day ran his suckhole so fuck him. You fucking be you Jim!!!

Day’s turned them into a soft finesse team that can’t run the ball when they need to and has no defense. He’s Helfrichized Ohio. It’s not shocking that they are starting to crumble a recruiting class after Meyer and his culture of physicality is gone.

I dunno... I think they will always have the 'horses' to be a top team, at least in the big ten, because they are still attracting top QB and WR talent, and college football is always going to reward that. Their WR talent is unreal. Helfrich went like 4-8 one season. That'll never happen at osu.

But, the defense? Yeah... I don't see any "dogs" on that side. Maybe Sawyer will become elite. But I definitely don't see that middle linebacker like years past. Not seeing a borland or laurenitis etc. Simply wasn't there. There was no "QB" on that side. Josh Ross is so much better then what they put out there. Also didn't see great safety play either.

What about people standing on 3rd base who think they hit a double and advanced to 3rd base as the trailing runner due to a play at the plate? What do we think about that kind of person?

FWIW (very little frankly) the OSU fan and blog-base is taking great exception to this comment, and whining that Day's comment about "hanging 100" on Michigan was intended to remain behind closed doors [and "Oh, that wasn't about this year, that was only about 2020!"] but some traitorous reporter let it out. They are vowing revenge...

The Rivalry is back.

Well to be entirely factual, some people on third base have in fact hit a triple. I mean if you're Trea Turner for instance then that's actually a reasonably likely cause of you being on third base.

I love it!! It’s a way to get in their heads. Harbs has been dealing with the shit they’ve been shoveling at him with every loss. Awesome to see him get over the hump and throw it back in their faces. This isn’t a one time deal. This is the pendulum swinging back the other way and putting the monkey on their asses. It was very apparent who wanted this game more. Keep that culture change brewing, Coach!
