Snowflakes: Announcing

Submitted by Hardware Sushi on
Today was the first time I've ever watched the game on mute. Last week they were brutal and I figured it was just me until Brian said something in his recap.

My girlfriend overcooked for friends giving and was adding unnecessary stress to the room but I put on a playlist and powered thru with my own mental commentary. Anyone else has enough of Brock and Wischusen (sp?)?

... but at least he acknowledges that this team never loses its head and heart, which is a result of one thing: coaching.

The lack of comment about the "block below the waist" was almost comical.

I hate to say it, because his love for and depth with the program is obvious, but Branstatter is not good at play-by-play.  I listened to the radio broadcast last week and he seriously got calls wrong on like 20% of the pays (maybe more?).  It was painful, kind of Hokeian.

But whatever, GO BLUE!!!

I think I've gotten used to bad announcing and just ignore it.

The only time I realy get fired up is when they give their opinions on certain penalty calls and I pretty much argue at the TV screen that they are wrong 90 percent of the time.

I'm kind of a crazy person.

I just don't understand what Huard's problem is. He is so obviously biased against Michigan, it's ridiculous. At least this week he didn't start fellating the PSU players after they lost.

Brock Huard continued to point out Hackenberg's flaws while praising Rudock for most of the game. He also complimented Harbaugh and the heart and fight the team showed. I don't think you can say he was anti-Michigan all game.

The most baffling to me was why Huard was so sure the holding call on Henry was legit.  Would have liked to see some more replays to back that up.

Brock Huard did Michigan a huge service when at the end of the game he basically declared Franklin and the Penn State coaching staff sub-standard.

It is not often that commentators do that, so it means a lot.

He did not hide the fact the he believes that Franklin and staff area are not able to develop Hackenberg and that they are a big step down from O'Brien and his staff.

That sort of thing is really damaging to Penn State's recruiting, and Penn State is in the Big Ten East, so that helps Michigan a lot.

I mean in addition to slamming Franklin's clock managment (obvious even if not mentioned), he basically went on about how Hackenberg should turn pro even though he won't be drafted until later rounds because he will not develop under Franklin with another year at PSU.

For Michigan that it pure gold.

Quote of the day after the plethora of penalties....

We knock Hackenburg down....

"Watch out now guys, don't hit him too hard!!!!"
