SIAP: Michigan Helmet Stickers
Sorry if already posted, but my daughter asked me last night what the "TED" sticker was on the Michigan helmet and I had no idea. So, we googled, and found this page:

Pretty cool! And TED does not mean they were a speaker at a TED conference, but rather "There Every Day".
I like the new specialization; do you?

Yes - I like it

"There Every Day"
Aren't attendance awards usually given out at the end of the semester/season? 😊
Thanks for posting this. Good to know what they all mean.

If there was ever an "8 am class TED Award" in my college days, most of my profs crossed my name off FIRST.
Shouldn't that mean I should have won something?

I've always thought that anyone signing up to teach a class at 8am was hoping for low enrollment/attendance. It makes their job easier. So yeah, you were doing them a favor and deserved a reward.

My only 8am class during my last three years was an Astronomy elective held in the old observatory next to my dorm, Couzens Hall. I could roll out of bed at 7:50 and still make it there.

They really should ban 8am Friday chemistry labs. It's quite dangerous.

I honestly prefer no helmet stickers. I’m not as opposed to them as I was at first but I miss the clean look

Are you from the "Down in front" subgroup?

Get off my lawn

Well I do prefer noon games.
But my earliest memory of Michigan football is the 98 Rose Bowl so helmet stickers are not a “back in my day” thing for me

1 pm games >>> noon games.
Most home games back in the 70's and early 80s kicked off @1 (other than ohio st @noon).

I don't mind the stickers but I'll admit that I prefer the clean look of the Michigan helmet. I am not old enough to remember when they wore them years ago. My earliest childhood memories were always the clean look.

I prefer the clean look as well, just gets too cluttered by overly large stickers that look completely random to any non major fan. I am a fan of them on other teams helmets where they blend better, just think they hide the wings too much.

Yep; motivational!
I had a non-OP worthy question in game 1 about helmet stickers. Players already had a bunch, so I assume these are from previous years. Maybe even the same helmet from last year. Is this correct?
The contrast is the Buckeye helmet (I think) where they get a sticker for every nice play (like rec baseball). Their helmets are empty to start the season.
Do I have this right?

Not 100% about if they carry over but I recently heard they are using the stickers to "tell the story of the player." I know one of the stickers is their area code where the player is from.

Yes it’s to tell the story of their careers. They get stickers for academic accomplishments, individual accolades, one for each win, bowl games, etc.

Specialized or not, I really dislike the helmet stickers but because that’s a strong competitor for my least favorite aspect of the Harbaugh era, I’m mostly willing to suck it up and deal.

I was surprised by the number of stickers some players had before kickoff of the first game. Anyone have the story on how a player earns over a dozen stickers before the season starts?
September 11th, 2022 at 12:40 PM ^
Stickers are earned over the course of then players careers, not just the current season.

I purchased the student shirt for this year and wanted to know the meaning of the stickers on its helmet picture. I know (734) is the AA area code (and the first sticker everyone gets is this nod to their hometown). But what do the "11" and "43" stickers mean? I assume one is the player's number. What about "HAIL" and the wolverine - does every player get those?
I really love these stickers. I remember the mid-80s stickers and see this as Harbaugh taking an old concept and tweaking it to modernize. If the weekly game notes explained new stickers, I would read every issue!

Need further explanation on the “equality” sticker please.

I had no idea there were so many different versions of the stickers.
I did not see a "hurdled fool" sticker, so clearly some are missing.

WOW; 22 stickers! If it adds for more motivation then I am for it. On the other hand, it serves as a nice pat on the head.
I like the plain football sticker for a critical play during a game but then again for those who do not get into a game will never get a sticker.
Thanks for posting the link for this info.

Good thing that it wasn't related to a movie promotion left over from the Dave Brandon days.
