SIAP: Brutal new tunnel video
October 30th, 2022 at 1:12 PM ^
In this situation it’s not uncommon for that player to be charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Charges should be filed and arrests made. At the least all MSU players involved should be kicked off the team and out of school
October 30th, 2022 at 1:14 PM ^
They’re both horrendous and worthy of charges, not to mention actions the university should take. This second assault just happens to be worse than the other one, to the extent we can even tell from the two short videos.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:16 PM ^
man did we see that first video differently. it looked to me like several msu players were trying to punch and kick a single michigan player on the ground for a period of time before he was able to escape.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:21 PM ^
And repeatedly shove him into the wall and threw threw him out into the tunnel after all of that and punching and stomping. Not sure how you can’t see that in the video last night. This one is even worse because the dude uses an object to hit him with. You know your team is out of control when your own staffers are running away from it.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:25 PM ^
As I am getting downvoted here, I just watched the first video again. Yes, it was 100% wrong and out of line. But unless I missed something, there are no unequivocal punches or kicks that can be seen in the video. Could either/both have happened somewhere in there? Absolutely. I just couldn't see anything I would categorize as clear, incontrovertible evidence of that. This second video...that is absolutely criminal assault. That player should be removed from the team and charged. Period.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:28 PM ^
good of you to admit you were wrong.
to you second point, what do you think was going on then below the view of the camera, playing euchre?
October 30th, 2022 at 1:31 PM ^
Ugh, what I "think" was going on is irrelevant. It's not evidence. If you go down the assumption path to try and make this look worse than it was, you are no better than the folks on RCMB currently saying things like, "well, there's no video, but he must have struck our guy with his helmet first, in which case both should charged," blah blah blah.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:49 PM ^
Caveat: I'm not a cop but I watch lots of Law and Order. My guess is that police could talk to McBurrows (if a call is made) and he could tell them, "Yeah, I was getting punched and kicked," or whatever was going on. Then they look at the video as evidence that seems to corroborate what he says. Cliff's Notes version: Ja'Den's story is the key here and we haven't heard it.
October 30th, 2022 at 5:10 PM ^
Not to mention several eye witnesses to corroborate the story.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:51 PM ^
In the various videos there appear to be a number of witnesses... staff, reporters, even a police officer. They should be able to fill in the blanks.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:59 PM ^
I completely agree. New evidence can and will come out that may 100% change my opinion on the first video. It just hasn’t yet and I can only draw conclusions based on what I can actually see.
October 30th, 2022 at 2:39 PM ^
There were a lot of people there last night. A cop wasn’t one of them. A pansy with a uniform on was, but that dude won’t be an officer by the end of this week. That guy knew exactly what was happening and did nothing. There’s no serving or protecting there. Just cowardly collecting a check.
October 30th, 2022 at 2:01 PM ^
The president of MSU was able to figure out what happened.
October 30th, 2022 at 2:12 PM ^
I'm not going to argue with you, but I will take exception to comparing me to RCMB for my assumption that he was getting punched and kicked by several MSU players. And I am 100% sure that my assumption will bear out based on witness accounts and the Michigan player's injuries/face.
October 30th, 2022 at 2:25 PM ^
In a criminal case, the trier of fact is usually a jury. The defendant has a constitutional right to a jury trial for serious criminal offenses (which any charges arising from these "scuffles" would be), though I suppose one could waive that right and opt for a bench trial. Anyway, the jury is therefore the group that determines what the facts are, based on the totality of the evidence presented. In this case, it would involve video evidence, as well as witness testimony. It is okay to use common sense to decide for yourself what did or didn't happen.
October 30th, 2022 at 4:34 PM ^
Oh man, that RCMB comparison is just wrong. One conclusion is based on video, one is based on some imaginary thing that is not on video. And I know you didn’t see actual contact in that video, but saying we’re no better than the RCMB victim-blamers? I hear what you’re saying about what the video lacks, but the comparison with RCMB is not accurate and not necessary to make your point.
October 30th, 2022 at 2:17 PM ^
18 clearly throws a punch after Ja’den is thrown into the hallway.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:01 PM ^
Hope those involved never get to play football again. Those players are straight up pieces of shit.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:22 PM ^
They can be the new ones on Last Chance U
October 30th, 2022 at 1:01 PM ^
Twitter Rumblings is this is gemon green getting helmet smashed
October 30th, 2022 at 1:02 PM ^
Feels like no more football for him. Gotta be a season-ended.
October 30th, 2022 at 2:12 PM ^
Career ended. At least a couple of these shitbirds need to be made examples of. Otherwise it'll happen again.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:02 PM ^
Uh that dude wailing away with his helmet needs to spend some time in a cell
October 30th, 2022 at 1:04 PM ^
yup. At that point, the helmet is a weapon
October 30th, 2022 at 2:55 PM ^
Probably getting charges - but will plea down to misdemeanor assault and get probation. Most likely scenario as charges will be pressed and a trial is impossible as he’s on film doing it. Could be attempted murder if you wanted to play hard ball. For sure aggravated battery/assault (whatever MI’s terminology is).
October 30th, 2022 at 1:02 PM ^
Posted this in a random thread earlier: Unrelated but didn't want to create another thread on the subject but interesting to see the 2 coaches at the end of the game. Harbaugh was focused on getting his players away from MSU because they were acting like childish idiots.
Overpaid Tuck seemed more interested in getting off the field as fast as possible, was disinterested in the safety of the players.
October 30th, 2022 at 2:49 PM ^
I noted this above, but it's worth repeating: I don't blame him as a person for wanting to get out of there. But as a 9.5 million dollar man in charge of young men? That's a guy forgetting what he's getting all that money for, and chicken-shirting it.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:03 PM ^
Unbelievable. Yet I'm not surprised
October 30th, 2022 at 1:04 PM ^
I think it’s safe to say that the fourteen year run where sparty had our number is over. Paul is home, and the insanity of the Michigan State football program continues. Winning on the field and staying disciplined while the rival team up the road has no self-control feels like old times.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:11 PM ^
Yep. Sparky knows we’re going to fuck them up for the foreseeable future.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:17 PM ^
Sorry but I really don’t see this as a statement of our rivalry. I see it as a violent crime.
I was gonna feel good about football but instead I feel bad about humanity.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:24 PM ^
Dragonchild,
Im nodding in agreement with so many of your comments about these incidents. This has nothing to do with football and even bringing football into it feels tone deaf. I hope the kids involved and the coaches are found criminally and civilly responsible and punished accordingly.
without speculating on the identity or situation of either victim, can you imagine someone losing out on draft money due to injuries from this? I would want those compensatory damages paid in full.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:40 PM ^
I'm thinking we remove MSU from our conference and schedule from 2023 onward. This is a terrible program and they won't stop coming at us. I have no interest in considering them a peer, rival, or a state funded institution any longer.
OSU is all we need. At least they play a sport and play it well.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:39 PM ^
Indeed. I’m not even thinking of the trajectory of the rivalry when seeing that video. I just see a bunch of thugs who need to be arrested. And it sucks that THIS is getting the majority of the discussion when we should be busy celebrating our win.
There has always been bad blood, shit talking, etc. between the teams…and that’s fine because that comes with any rivalry. But this? This is waaaaay over the line.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:09 PM ^
We should have already been seeing the news that this player was arrested.
Michigan St players themselves should have jumped in and stopped this.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:25 PM ^
Now you’re thinking clearly!
October 30th, 2022 at 1:46 PM ^
The fact that no arrests have happened, and that nothing other than empty tweets have come from the university, confirms what I expected. There will be no consequences. Get ready for more of this in the future.
October 30th, 2022 at 2:42 PM ^
Get out of here with your nonsense. You were blaming Jaden earlier. You’re a trash human being. Don’t pretend to be on the right side of this now.
October 30th, 2022 at 4:40 PM ^
There is one video of a state player pulling another away from something. I think it’s the video of our guy being dragged (allegedly). So credit where it’s due, I guess. I’ll add the link if I can find it.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:11 PM ^
As if any of us need any more reason hate the Spartans, I'd encourage you to go over to RCMB and read through their thread about this same video. It is truly amazing how low that fan base is.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:33 PM ^
I expected nothing less from them. This is a major reason why MSU is my most despised team.
I feel pretty confident that if the script was flipped, we would be outraged with them.
Totally disgusting behavior
October 30th, 2022 at 3:44 PM ^
One of my favorite repeated Sparty defenses is their claim this is because Harbaugh has lost control of his team. That is some epic projection.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:13 PM ^
Fuck Sparty. This is typical trash behavior from a bunch of losers.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:15 PM ^
That is awful. Arrests absolutely have to be made. “heat of the moment” isn’t gonna fly.
I’m surprised there aren’t security cameras in the tunnel.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:16 PM ^
There needs to be.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:19 PM ^
gotta figure they're being installed right now.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:44 PM ^
I am almost positive there are cameras all over the stadium and even the tunnel for obvious “terror” type situations. Now I highly doubt we will see the cctv footage and it probably is in the hands of the police now.
October 30th, 2022 at 1:58 PM ^
After reading the news reports it sounds like this was the “second” player that was assaulted? And they are speculating it was Green. (I hadn’t seen anything on this site who the “second” player is)
/edited
October 30th, 2022 at 2:40 PM ^
In one of the other threads someone said it was green. If you look at the TomVH video from the field, you can see Green going into the tunnel with MSU, then McBurrows goes in shortly after. Both alone. Only two UofM players visible go who into the tunnel

While waiting to get out of the golf course, I occasionally peaked over just to see the bus caravan leave so i could wave their asses goodbye.
I never saw them because I totally forgot that they all fit in one clown car, so the joke was on me.
