Thanks for sharing with us.  Article describes Coach Howard as someone who believes in commitment.  He came here because he wants to be here.  Nothing lasts forever but I didn't need to read the article to know he has no intention of going anywhere.

Great article! I love Juwan and everything he stands for. I got tears eyed reading this.
He had a hard life growing up and now he can be such a positive person and so well-loved by anyone who knows him. (Or knows him from afar.)

Thrilled he’s on our side. GO BLUE!

Every time I think I can't be happier with Coach Howard I read something like this that makes me realize he's probably even better than I thought.  The opportunity he has to impact the lives of the young men that play basketball for him is incredible, and it would appear that he truly cherishes it.  And watching how they react to him as a coach, the kids cherish it too.

Sad that he's lost so many good friends along the way.

I think from a program image and leadership perspective, he is there.  The man is essentially the living image of what I think of when I think of the University of Michigan.  I don't know that any coach in the country is a better fit for his team than Juwan is for Michigan.  The confidence, the swagger, the discipline, the dedication, the dynamism, the dedication to things aside from athletics, the commitment to excellence, etc.

The amount of hardship he’s endured in his life and his ability to not just overcome it but thrive, is nothing short of remarkable.

I don’t expect his Michigan tenure to last for as long as he coaches, but based on this article it sure reads like it’s about a guy who doesn’t intend to go anywhere anytime soon. And based on the results of this season I think Michigan is willing to have him for as long as he wants.

Nope. Nope, and Nope.

I knew him in college and it may have been me, but I didn't get the impression he's a very nice person.

Edit: This is referring to Rosenberg, not Howard. I ran into Howard at a restaurant in DC when the Heat were in town many moons ago and introduced myself as an alum. He nearly broke my hand shaking it, and greeted me with a huge smile and an enthusiastic, "Go Blue!"

You can understand why Howard would have such an appeal for parents, as he is really a self made man.

I LOVE how he won't bother with kids that don't fit the culture he's building as well.

Feel for all the losses he's suffered recently; hopefully the team will make a deep run for him.

Man that is a tough read. I think my house must be super dusty today.

Go fucking Blue, and lets do it for Juwan.

LOVE THIS

Last year, with Michigan 19–12 and unranked when the season shut down, Juwan firmly believed his team would win the NCAA tournament. You can imagine how he feels now, at 20–4.

If the thing that stands out the most from this article is that he doesn't sound like a guy eager to move to the NBA, you should re-read the article.  I mean, just the fact that Juwan drove 240 miles to talk to comfort his friend's wife in the driveway (due to COVID concerns), then turn around and drive all the way back to Ann Arbor is moving.  Who wouldn't want a friend like that, let alone a coach like that?
