Second Half Thread/New Life/Time to shock the world!
WTF was that call?
It's Delaney's fault.
Hate to see it end like this, but still proud of them.
Going to miss the seniors next year, and maybe Mo, too, but the future is bright for Michigan.
Frozen Four up next - Go Blue!
good grief
So yeah...
Embarrassing for sure, very disappointing end to the season.
Well, early in the year we were waiting for the calvary to arrive next year. Now we can resume that wait.
But what a great ride this has been. Until tonight, anyway...
bruson had like 8 offensive fouls in the first half too. fuck them
Empty the bench. Uncle.
The V guy pushed Matthews away. Holy fuck refs
Do they institute the running clock at some point here? This is brutal.
Offense needs a little work this offseason, but a top recruiting class is on the way. Good days are still ahead.
Why do they start these games so freaking late? Adding insult to injury - I'll be tired tomorrow morning.
The offense was only on in one game. The boys were able to find a way in the other games, but tonight...
I just don't know when it will be time for our teams here in Michigan. I'm pleased with this Final Four run, don't get me wrong, but it's just punch to the nuts after punch to the nuts with no light at the end of the tunnel.
I'll be loyal and stick it out until i'm dead. I love these teams too much...but man am I sick of having to say things like "No shame in losing to ____" "Congrats to ______". I want to celebrate a ship for once.
Looking at it this way seems unhealthy. Only one team out of 350 or whatever gets to be happy tonight.
This team won all sorts of stuff and created a lot of super fun memories. That's what you remember, even though they fell short tonight. It sucks, but remember all the good stuff.
Also, think we're probably the favorite in the conference next year. Definitely if Mo comes back, but I think Beilein knows he's gone. Took him out with the two seniors.
Clock has struck midnight.
Of course we can't play a big ganes without the refs being a factor to our loss.
Let me make this clear: I am not blaming this game on the refs. We are getting outplayed too. Just saying: not like they're helping on the fairness scale.
but it just wasn't our night.
Nova is just too good. Even if we shoot a regular 36% or whatever from three and make 2/3 of our free throws, they win by like 5-8.
they are a much better team but it does feel like the outcome was almost preordained with the BS calls and such. We were able to overcome ticky tack BS calls earlier, to win games, not possible with a team like Villanova with endless good shooting.
Very proud of this Beilein team. Can't say it enough.
midway through the 1st half. Never got better. I thought the team would be more relaxed being a big dog. But most of this tournament they have shot lousy.
And Ace wants people to log off. The refs didn't make Michigan lose this game - they did that on thier own. But the refs changed the way the game was being played. They took away Michigan's aggressiveness with the run of BS fouls in the first half. The touch fouls have continued, and I don't see them being called against Nova.
With the loss of aggression, the entire offense went away and the defense had to back off. And then DeVencenzo (whatever) happened. And Michigan still can't shoot three's or FTs.
Just don't lose by 20+ ok?
has not quit all year. One of my favorite college basketball teams ever.
My laptop battery is dying, so I'm out. I'll watch it to the bitter end, and enjoy every bit of this run. Congrats to Nova - they are fucking good, and clearly deserved the win. At least they aren't Duke or UNC!
And also congrats to Michigan basketball on a GREAT season! Thank you, boys - I look forward to another try next year!!
Show the goddamn game, not the guys sobbing on the bench. Get your head out of your ass in the production truck.
And Beilein, clear the damn bench. You should've done that three minutes ago.
