Saturday Roll Call - Weather be Damned

Submitted by True Blue in CO on
I am commited to a weekend trip to Chicago and have had tickets for the game since August.  I know it will be cold and possibly wet but this is my only chance to see OUR team this fall.  We will be tailgaiting with some Michigan and Northwestern fans near the Stadium so that will be fun for certain.  Roll call for the other MGo diehards planning to attend and sharing your plans for game.

My wife and I are making the drive from Cincinnati to Chicago tomorrow. Should be a good weekend with some great friends. We don't have tickets yet, but I doubt that will be a problem.

I'm driving up tomorrow from Omaha, NE. Except tomorrow nite i'll be attending the BlackHawks game before heading to Evanston! Weather be damned is right! Go Blue!

On Friday, I'm going to drive by the stadium in my warm car to check out the equipment truck - one of my most favorite things to see. Then on Saturday, I may head over there again with my kids to see the players arrive. After that, I'm going to head back to my warm house a few short miles away and sit on my very comfortable couch - did I mention I just got new cushions for it? - and watch the game with my laptop and the shrinking liveblog. Maybe I'll make some chili, too. It seems like it will be that kind of day.

My wife was born in Evanston and is a diehard Cats fan.

We've been to every M vs NW game since 1998 and we aren't stopping now.

I used to work across the street from Dyche Stadium (Ryan Field) so it's a trip down memory lane.

This game always doubles as our anniversary weekend, too. Yes, I married well. :)

The wife and I host college friends whenever the game is in Evanston. We'll be there rain or shine. Just wish it was easier to park and tail gate around the stadium.

Meeting friends before the game and taking two of my kids. Easy 15 minute drive from the North Shore but I don't like the lack of tailgating. I like the small Ryan stadium. The two teams have actually played exciting games in the past 20 years. Hopefully, it is a fun and winning day. We will be looking for kids activities and I'll be bring extra beer to share with anyone wearing M gear.
