How anyone could still want this asshole after he was driven out of Denver for being a dick and THEN fucked over the Colts by lying to them is beyond me. But if they hire him and pass on Jim, better for us lol

Spending a mid round pick on a shitty person with elite talent you can cut in a second like Tyreek is different than handing the reigns of the team to a guy whose only stints outside New England have resulted in the 11th worst offensive season of all time with the Rams, the Broncos tenure where he was run out of town, and the Colts debacle.

Way more interesting than this is the Jacksonville saga where Byron Leftwich appears to be their top choice but is refusing to take the job unless they fire Trent Baalke.

Baalke is the worst type of corporate stooge. His skills are ingratiating himself to ownership,  undercutting the head coach through strategic leaks to the media, and self-preservation. I respect Leftwich for telling it like it is. This will not be what owners want to hear, however.

Can I get some proof?  Or tell me where to find it?  I want to shove this in my stepfather's face at work tomorrow.  He was all about Jim Harbaugh running himself out of town in SF and said he would do the same in AA.  I want some evidence to show my stepfather how Jim wasn't the problem.

Good.  Macdaniels is a great coach and a big UM fan.  He went to A2 to visit his bro several times while he was here.

Do you know McDaniels personally Vladimir? I don't know him but I live in New England and have met him on 4 occasions, all at the end of the summer Robert Kraft charity event.  (Happy to send you photos if you like).  Not only did we talk about his multiple trips to Ann Arbor, but he professed his love for HOMES beer (not something everyone knows in A2) and Frita Batidos.  Not sure you're aware of those living in Russia, but they are pretty special places in A2.  So, go Troll somewhere else.

Which I don't get.  I mean none of these other coaches have ever had 11, 12, and 13 win NFL teams, a conference championship and Super Bowl appearance.

But hey, I'm not complaining.  They must think the game has passed JH by or something.

As far as I'm concerned, "WHO'S GOT IT BETTER THAN US?!?"

My concern for Michigan would be how does this impact recruiting going forward. It seems apparent that if the NFL comes calling Harbaugh would leave. He is going to have to come out and say he no longer is interested in the NFL and sell it really hard to build on any recruiting momentum coming off this season. The NFL flirtation I think makes it harder to sell Michigan into top 3-5 recruiting rankings moving forward.

If you think an NFL team is going after McDaniels and didn’t “come calling” for Harbaugh, I don’t know what to tell you. Something happened that prevented that call from advancing, but it’s silly to pretend the call never occurred.

In my opinion, one of two things happened:

  1. Harbaugh isn’t actually interested in the NFL. NFL teams called, Harbaugh said “not interested,” the end.

  2. Harbaugh is willing to accept an NFL position, but only under certain circumstances. Meaning location, current roster build, roster control moving forward, and money. Doesn’t mean he “wants” to leave, but he has a specific price that would cause him to decide to leave.

Now point 2 is obviously a lot to ask of a potential NFL suitor. Something many teams may not be willing to give. If a team is unwilling to accommodate, there’s no point in continuing the conversation. No point to reach the interview stage, no point in advancing past a preliminary phone call. That’s not going to get much media coverage, hence the illusion of no interest from NFL teams.

Harbaugh is happy where he is. He’s more than happy to continue doing this job and it’ll take an extremely enticing offer for him to leave. NFL teams simply may not be high enough on Harbaugh to give him what he’s asking for. But that’s his price to leave Michigan.

If you’re an NFL owner, are you giving Harbaugh a $100 million contract with full roster control and his choice of GM? Or are you going with a cheaper option that you view on a comparable level?

It seems apparent that if the NFL comes calling Harbaugh would leave.

This is the message board echo chamber taking over in your mind.  We have no particular reason to believe this is the case.  Do you really think zero NFL teams have been interested in him since 2014?  A guy who's been to the Super Bowl?

It seems like it would be helpful to the program if he'd come out and say he's not going anywhere. Yet he doesn't. He's not stupid, he's aware of all the speculation. So either he's interested in the NFL and this will be a recurring problem as long as he's here or he's bitter about the pay cut and wants to let Manuel twist in the wind for a while. Maybe both. It's not a good look either way. At this point I wonder if it would be better for Michigan in the long run if he moved on.

"The cup is already broken" - Buddhist teaching

It helps recruiting.  NFL interest means JH has NFL skills and NFL connections.  Coaches typically turn over every 4-5 years so there is a pretty good chance the coach is gone before you graduate, especially if he has already been there two years.

It is better to go to the best place for one year and hope the next guy is as good rather than going to an inferior place and hope the next guy is better.   Every football coach would leave for $20 million/year and total control so it would be more about the terms and conditions than the dollars for JH.

I'm shooting the OP.  I really don't care.

I hate how sports information/ media/ twitter title report items

"rumor"  'maybe'  'leaning"   in one sentence.

So nothing .. Great thanks!

Rumor: Margot Robbie maybe leaning towards spending a night with me.

How lucky am I!

I posted these "rumors" from several sources combined that are quasi-insiders to the NFL (the tweet in the OP is a Raiders journalist and the follow up tweets in first comments are from other NFL journalists such as Schefter & Rapaport).  It's still in the hearsay stages, but it's a non-trivial amount of "smoke" from various direction - all saying about the same thing.

Not definitive, but something.

Even if I take my maize and blue sunglasses off I don’t see how they pass on the interim coach who just rescued them from a dumpster fire and took them to the playoffs?
