I assume they're talking about that weekday traffic which is another animal. When I lived in DC, I was Metro or bust M-F.

Plus, the at-home experience is superior during commercial breaks. You can flip to another game for a few minutes, which is great if it's another ranked matchup or a game coming down to the wire. In the stadium, with iffy WiFi, you have to hope you're surrounded by good conversationalists.

To skip the commercials start watching your recorded stream 60-90 min after the scheduled kickoff.  Fast forward thru the dead air and you should be "live" for the last 10 min of clock in the game.  The only issue is texting/social media interactions have to be muted until you go live.

Hulu balks at doing that for me. It seems like it should work (and did at one point a few years ago) but no. Forces me to watch live the ads (even paying up for an ad-free experience). About 15 minutes after the conclusion of the game, skipping forward/back works perfectly but not while it's still a live game. Odd.

And yes, mute to avoid the spoilers, ;-)

But I will try again this season.

Noon kickoffs because the ratings success of FOX Big Noon Kickoff games proves that it's not just tradition.  In 2021, the most watched college football game of the year kicked off at Noon.

With the upcoming TV contract changes, I think you're going to see a nice blend of Noon, 3:30, and 8:00 kickoffs in the coming years.

I hate noon games.  It's to early in the day.  I like 3:30 and wish there were more of them.  Since I don't really attend games, I'm starting to like night games more than I used to.  I can do stuff during the day and still be able to watch the game in full.

Strong disagreement here.  With noon games, you've still got a lot of the day afterwards.  3:30 games feel like they take up the whole day.  I love Michigan football, but sometimes I've got other things to do on a Saturday, too.  And if you're at the game, it's much harder to get seated at a restaurant in Ann Arbor after a 3:30 game than after a noon one.

It's not the same.  3:30 games break up your day awkwardly.  Also, if you're going to the game, you can't watch the second half of the noon games, and you'll probably miss most of the other interesting games, since other conferences like to play them in the 3:30 time slot.

Noon works out the best, especially since the Big Ten basically monopolizes good games in that window.

It is entirely possible that the Michigan/MSU game could be at night. But the gist of this article is "Some guy told us this might happen and here are some quotes from nine years ago and a suggestive headline to help us turn this into click bait."

Please, no. Not because of any "Football is meant to be played at noon, not what Bo would want, get off my lawn" kind of sentiment. This is purely for selfish reasons.

There's just some games, like MSU and OSU, that I prefer to get out of the way first thing. Hate waiting all day for it. Just kick that game off at noon and let's either get my celebration started, or get my misery done and over with.

So would you be OK if our game was on Sunday?

"get the game out of the way" is a weird way to put it, but I 100% understand and agree with those people because for me (middle-age, out of town), it's all about the day-of. If the game is at noon (or when I was in CA, 9AM), I don't have to wait (aka be nervous) on the day of, and the rest of the day after is free. If I want to watch other games, great. If I want to forget that NCAAF is a thing, I still have a few productive hours after 4.

I think I'm just so used to 12PM being for football that it's hard to have a regular Saturday and then plan to reserve 7:30-11(:30?!?). Like if your 9-5 was 4-12 once in a while.

I personally prefer 3.30 games, but thats because I have young kids.

Noon games I need to miss part of the 2nd quarter to put him down for a nap, and then need to be quiet after, and we can't go anywhere.

Night games I miss part of the start of the game putting him down for bed, and then need to be quiet again.

3.30 games, the kid is fresh up from a nap and ready to play. We can hang out with the neighbors and celebrate properly jumping up and down touchdowns, which my son loves.

I'm sure in a year or two my perspective will change.

Consider me highly skeptical that, in mid-August, a B1G football game scheduled for late October is already being assigned a time.  Outside of the annual Noon UM-OSU game, how often does this happen?  Most league game times are decided weeks, not months, ahead of time.  There is also TV network implications to consider -- if FOX has the first pick on which game to broadcast that week, wouldn't they prefer this game for their Big Noon Kickoff?

My friends and I go to AA once a year and actually try to pick a night game.  Don't have to wake up at the ass crack of dawn to get to AA.  Roll into town around noon, walk around the campus, go to the bars, get back to the tailgate a couple hours before the game.  Game atmosphere is awesome.  Then get a hotel near AA after.  A better all around experience in my opinion.

I don't mind night games against anybody (except OSU...) but any after mid-Oct should just be banned.  Too many times during that time of the year it is in the 30s.  With the rules that LAZ and the AAFD are laying down this year will make day-long tailgating in those temps difficult.

Sure could just not tailgate but that is more fun more times than the game itself.

*Is hit by the memory of being soaking wet from rain. So much rain that my rain gear did nothing. Drenched from head to toe as if I had just leapt into a pool fully clothed before climbing out and taking my seat in Sec. 7. Walking back to the car soaked and silent. Riding home soaked and silent. Just the cold and the wet.*

Well, we've already done this in 2017. Now, we just need to do it in something not at all like a swirling torrent of driving, miserable rain. Oh, and win it, unlike 2017.

Someone should make a documentary on how badly the spartan fans trash the pioneer parking lot before and after the night game.

It could be a woodstock 99 piece.  Spartans fans playing the role of eastern seaboard rioting Korn fans.

just an idea. Someone should get footage though. There is no dumpster in the world that can contain them.
