Rob Pelinka and UM hoops

After the Lakers drafted Mo Wagner a couple years ago, and signed Chaundee Brown and last year Zavier Simpson to undrafted contracts, it seems like Pelinka is willing to give UM players a chance. He played with Juwan Howard, but I’m not sure if they have a close relationship or not. I assume they have a good relationship, I think  Pelinka offers Juwan the Lakers job in a few years. I know the Lakers considered Juwan at one point before hiring frank Vogel, I expect Vogel to be around awhile as long as the Lakers are decent. But I could see that job being the next step in Juwans coaching journey.,Just hope it’s at least a few years away. That would be a hard job offer to turn down.

One of the dumber things I have read…Vogel has coached the Lakers for two years, and won an NBA Championship his rookie Lakers year.  He is not going anywhere because Rob wants to pull Howard from his alma mater to be the Lakers head coach. Vogel’s team or Brooklyn will be the favorite to win the Championship this year.

Well, I figured people needed to hear the thoughts inside my head.  I said to myself, "Self, people need to know these wonderful ideas you have and the only way to accomplish this is to post them on a Michigan Sport Blog!"  I spent the rest of the night drawing schematics.

Tomorrow, I am going to post about the addition of the contraction Who're to the lexicon.  We have Who's, but there isn't a proper contraction for Who Are.  The world needs Who're!

The Lakers are the Lakers, but that won't be the job everyone seeks once LeBron has retired.  They'll still have Davis, but they've mortgaged their future for the present.  Not sure Howard would leave (assuming he's crushing it here) for a rebuild in LA.

I apologize I meant the Lakers have appeared in the championship on average once every three years I have been alive…they have only won the championship on average once every four years.

Lebron has played for only 1 of those 17 teams, so not sure what is so hard to comprehend about Lakers having a history of always having great and HOF caliber players wearing the purple and gold…Kareem, Magic, Worthy, Shaq, Kobe, Gasol, LeBron, AD. ?

If we get a ‘ship and Jace and Jett matriculate and the Heat have a head coaching vacant I could maybe see Juwan leaving.  But he’s made it pretty clear that the mentoring and development aspects of college ball are extremely important to him

If Pelinka hires Juwan, we are going to find you & we are going to tie your underwear around your neck. While you are still wearing them.

Do you mean have separate categories on the board? Maybe like one for football, one for basketball, one for hockey, one for other M sports, one for pro sports & one for OT? Maybe there could even be one for politics & any political discussion outside of there gets a ban? What kind of magic could even make those sorts of ideas possible? I doubt such sorcery even exists!

Juwan's here at least as long as his kids are in college. If he goes to the NBA again, it will be as head coach of Miami, most likely. By all accounts, Lakers ownership is a nightmare to deal with, and LeBron's insistence on dictating the assistant coaching staff (most notably demanding that Jason Kidd had to be on the staff regardless of head coach) makes it a much less desirable job.

Pat Riley's a big mentor of Juwan's, and I would be shocked if he recommended working to the Lakers given his own experience out west.
